My Equinox had been acting up recently, and TJ quickly diagnosed an intermittent issue that another shop completely missed. I know he knew this review was coming. The time our vehicle was at this shop was absolutely ridiculous. I finally went in and he covered a rental…then, suddenly the car is done right about $1,000 for said rental, also, he sends a video of a leak that doesn’t even show it’s my car and this repair is miraculously another $1,000. I fully believe it was to offset the cost of the rental because the part to fix this so called leak is over $1,000, and does not include labor….kinda weird and super shady. Enjoy the $9,000…won’t even go back to ask for air in my tire. (The cost would have been fair had any attempt to return our vehicle in a somewhat timely manner had happened.)

**Exceptional Service at Auto Tech – Thank You, John!**
I was driving a 2018 RAM Promaster van (60k miles) from Colorado to Glenwood, Iowa, when I noticed a CV joint vibration the morning of July 1, 2024. After spending the night at Love's truck stop, I stopped at a few local repair shops, but no one could even look at my van for a week. One shop mentioned John at Auto Tech had Dodge experience, so I headed over.
Despite the rain and my being from out of town, John listened carefully to my issue. After some thought, he removed another vehicle from the lift, put my van up, and immediately began troubleshooting.
Over the next two days, John worked tirelessly to diagnose and repair the issue, ordering parts and walking me through every step. As he installed new parts, he inspected others, giving me the choice to replace them if needed. For instance, the wheel bearings weren’t terrible, but with 60k miles and the labor already done, I opted to replace them.
John truly went above and beyond. He let me work from his shop’s waiting room, use the bathroom, and access my van when needed. He put in two long 10-13 hour days to ensure I could get back on the road before the 4th of July holiday. After a final test drive at 9 PM on July 3rd, I paid up and was back on my way home.
John treated me and my vehicle with the utmost care, showing incredible dedication and professionalism. I can’t recommend him and Auto Tech enough. John, you’re on my Christmas card list this year!
I had John rebuild a transmission for me for my project car. His price was much better than the chain shops plus I got better service and he went above and beyond what I expected by painting the transmission for me. While I haven't installed it yet, I'm confident he did a quality job.

The inspection was conducted efficiently and thoroughly, resulting in a condition that was caught before it became a noticeable issue. As a mechanic for Bodenstiner, I can appreciate quality service. Having a mechanic work for a mechanic is a tough position to be in, auto tech has all of the ability to meet my expectations. they are very professional and patient, taking the time I needed to have an understanding of what they needed to do, and a clear understanding of cost. Before experiencing time with them, repair shops were usually a gray area for me, not black and white. We have a very old truck, and bless this mans heart, he was able to obtain the parts to restore her back to her youth! The owner was completely booked, but he still managed to get us in. The owner himself is a very sweet man, and very professional! If you need repairs, this is the place to go! We will definitely be taking our vehicles here for any repairs in the future!
My mom and I were heading home from a road trip when we started experiencing car trouble. John and Mike stayed open late to ensure that my car was fixed and we could safely continue home. Their kindness and willingness to help two random strangers was inspiring. I highly recommend them!
