I didn’t even have to step foot in the dealership until it was time to sign the papers; Chris and Adam went above and beyond during the test drive & negotiation process - they even delivered the car to my work for the test drive. I bought my most recent used vehicle from Barrett Auto Center and have to say, the whole experience was a complete pleasure. There was no haggling on price or pressure to buy the after market warranty (it was pitched but I passed). The finance associate was unavailable the day I went to buy, but they sent me home with the vehicle and a full tank for gas to come back the next morning and close the deal. They also gave me a fair value on my trade-in. But the most impressive thing was that when I discovered a bad ball joint on the vehicle 2 days later, they split the overall repair cost with me. They had absolutely no obligation given the "As-Is" warranty, but these folks know that their reputation matters, and they took care of me. I definitely recommend you take the drive to Glenwood if they've got a vehicle you're interested in.

I can’t recommend this dealership enough. I’m in the car business and I get all of my work done here. Family friendly and kind they treat myself, my wife, and my children with respect. They offer drinks and rides home even when they’re short staffed. I would recommend stopping in and giving them a try for sales and service. Not only will you be back you’ll send your friends and family there.

Buyer beware. There are so many other options to choose from. I know they have some friends in the area and they must do right by some people, but there are too many bad stories involving Barrett Auto. The owner didn't seem to be a partner for mutual benefit, which is what I want from the people with whom I do business. After my negative experience, a co-worker said, "I have heard of them. I would never go there." Well, I guess I didn't get the memo. They didn't do business with me directly, but they did business with someone very close to me and I was present. I will never work with this business. No one in my family will ever work with this business. I will tell anyone I know to avoid this business. The owner's actions - specifically his rude, condescending, and un-empathetic attitude was unbelievable. He is easily the most un-professional person I have ever met in an auto shop/dealership. He displayed misogynistic traits and simply didn't show basic respect for others. You are free to choose who you work with. Do yourself a favor and ask around. I suppose he might treat you right if you know the right people. There are a lot of places you can go. For auto repairs, I highly recommend talking to Auto Tech in Glenwood. Barrett Auto offered a 2-year/24,000 warranty on a $2,100 repair. The repair failed within the warranty window. All oil changes were done within the manufacturers recommended timeline. Barrett Auto knows this because their insurance already said they would cover the parts and labor on the failed repair. Unfortunately, multiple mechanics (including Barrett Auto) are saying the car engine has been ruined as a result of the failed repair and it's not worth fixing. The owner said he could replace the component under warranty, but it wouldn't fix the car. The owner was asked to provide solutions that resulted in compensating the consumer for the loss of the vehicle and didn't result in additional profit for Barrett Auto. This seems pretty reasonable, given the failed component was under warranty and that it resulted in a total loss of property. The owner literally told the consumer that he didn't agree that he shouldn't profit from this situation. He offered no realistic solutions to this problem and refused to take any responsibility. He could have said, "I agree that I shouldn't profit from this situation. While I will sell you another car, I don't really want to do that because I don't want to be the type of person that profits off of a situation like this, especially considering the parts failed under warranty." The owner could have said, "I cannot take the blame for the failed component, but I can help you by investigating and proving the failed parts caused the total loss of vehicle. If it did, I would like to support you in getting compensation from the manufacturer." Unfortunately, the owner didn't do that. The owner, a seasoned negotiator, actually asked the consumers parents and I to leave the room so he could negotiate with a single female alone! The owner did offer one very limited and wholly inadequate 'deal'. When asked to put the deal in writing, he said he never puts anything in writing. If someone is honest and has integrity, then they will put whatever they say in writing. Why wouldn't they? The owner said he never puts anything in writing. Read into that whatever you choose. The owner offered no solutions and his general attitude seemed to be "Poop happens". My daughter had a similar situation occur at Bennington Auto a couple years ago. They felt terrible. They asked us what they could do to 'make it right'. They sold us a car at cost. They took a car off the lot that was $4,900 and sold it to us for $2,850. They didn't make a dime from the situation and they treated us like family. If you want to be treated well, drive to Bennington Auto. I can't recommend them enough. Those guys are really great.

Chris was GREAT! Easy place to work with, no waiting hours for "paperwork", great deals! By far the BEST experience buying a car! We will not go anywhere else. Cannot recommend Barrett or Chris enough! Give them a visit, you will not be disappointed.

My wife Deb and I purchased a 2016 Subaru Outback from Barrett Auto sales yesterday. We highly recommend Barrett auto sales to our family and friends and anyone looking for a very clean vehicle. It was one of the most enjoyable experiences we have ever had over the years purchasing a vehicle. If I could give Chris 10 stars I would. I have gone through Chris with my last 2 vehicle purchases and he is AMAZING. He isn’t pushy at all. Chris goes above and beyond to satisfy his customers and is VERY easy to work with. He gives you all the information you need when buying a vehicle and you won’t leave asking questions because he answers them before you ask. He is there to help. Has to be the worst service department anywhere. Had issues before but decided to give them another chance. Take my 01 ram in for AC work. Didnt hear from them. Called the next day and they inform me they can't find a exhaust rattle. I'd hope not, it's new. Didnt offer to get it bumped up to get problem fixed. Just lame excuses. Giving them 1 star was to high of a rating

One of the best auto service to deal with Buying a car is no presume with a purchase. They let you know that they want you to purchase a vehicle but if you can't afford or like what they have they will work with you and try to find you the right vehicle.

Wow!! Scott and his team are excellent they got my daughters vehicle in for service with no notice and had it fixed in under an hour! If they couldn’t do enough for us they delivered 2 vehicles to Des Moines for us! Great people! Would use them for all my business!!!!

A million stars!! I live out of state and needed to get my moms older model car in for brakes. I called and told them the situation, they went OUT of their way to help get her car to their shop. They provided a trustworthy quote and performed the work all in one day. The service staff, sales and management staff were WONDERFUL to deal with. When your brakes go out in your treasured truck, you are 72 years old and a little old lady you need help fast... when that help comes with smiles, compassion and honesty it is beyond a blessing.
