Didn't have to wait long for a person to pick up on their end. Very reasonable on price for the pick up and tow. Storage wasn't super pricey, well as of yet.
Completely unethical and abusive business practices.
We had a trailer towed by BJ’s Towing in March 2025. BJ himself was professional and helpful—he’s the only reason this review isn’t zero stars. But whoever is managing the office (a woman who refuses to give her name to anyone—not even our insurance adjusters) has made this experience an absolute nightmare.
After our insurance company AIG paid BJ’s Towing $36,000—well over the original invoice—they refused to release our trailer. They then demanded another $5,700+ without any proper invoice or explanation. Even when we offered to pay for the trailer portion separately, they blocked us from retrieving it and continued racking up unjustified storage fees.
Our adjusters at both AIG and Veritas confirmed what we already knew: they can’t even communicate with this woman because she’s uncooperative, unprofessional, and irrational. Every time we’ve asked for documentation, we’ve received silence—or worse, more threats.
This is not a towing company—it’s a hostage situation. They are profiting off accidents and holding equipment until victims pay whatever they demand, without transparency or lawful process.
We are filing formal complaints with the Iowa Department of Transportation and the Iowa Attorney General. We’ve kept every email, invoice, and communication—and we strongly warn other carriers and drivers: stay far away from this place.
Pretty sure this is the tow service that replaced Dad's rim that any my daughter & I got "break checked" on I80 in a sudden rain. I nearly hit the simi-tractor trailer in the next lane after avoiding idiots trailer {carrying 2 motorcycles, I believe} in front of us. Got to take a WILD ride in a freaky 1997 black Honda. Our angels were with us that day!! Great service, the rim was changed & we were back on the road in no time... Still missed our appointment in UIHC though.
Mr Jones was a very helpful and kind individual. I needed to park my semi at his shop for a couple days and he took me to and from where I needed to be and made sure my truck was plugged so I’d have no problems starting it when I returned
Called them and get answer in a minute. Reasonable price,very professional communication. Dave is very nice not and easy to communicate with.

We broke down on I80 with a camper in a dangerous situation one hour before dark called BJ and with 20 minutes he had both vehicles towed into Williamsburg and even gave us provisions to spend the night in our camper at the shop . Bj is a very kind and hard working guy that goes way over and beyond . Thank you very much BJ.
Fast to show up when I locked my keys in my car at work but they completely ruined my window pillars 🥲 I guess that's what I get for leaving them in my car??
I don’t generally write any type of reviews, but this one definitely deserves a 5 star … We have a 2021 4xe jeep wrangler with leas than 30000 miles on it . On Saturday afternoon we were driving from Burlington IA, to Cedar Rapids IA. We went through the Amanas for supper & some shopping . When we got into the Amanas, our check engine light came on, & there was a very loud engine noise. We pulled over on a side street , shut the vehicle off & it wouldn’t even start . We have AAA and also Jeep warranty with Stellantis. I first contacted McGrath service who gave me the Stellantis contact info.I contacted them, was told they only do 21 miles & we were going to be about 26 miles to McGrath’s. They told me I had to pay $22.50, the difference in the mileage before they could even start a claim. I did that. They couldn’t find a tow truck . They called me about an hour later and said we are having trouble finding one .. do you want us to keep trying? Uhh —- duh -yes, you need to fine me tow truck . So we called AAA, started a claim there as well. After 3 hours, neither company had been able to find a tow truck, and didn’t even have an estimate of when they would be there. I did some searching online, found J’s Towing in Williamsburg .. called them, explained my situation & he said he could be there in about 30 minutes. He was . He allowed us both to ride with him back to Cedar Rapids . Not all hero’s wear capes .. we are so very grateful this company was there for us when both of companies that should have been there for us completely failed us. Thank you so much .
Thank Goodness for this guy! I got to my daughter’s softball tournament in Williamsburg at 9am and had run over a nail and could not drive on my tire. AAA was sending someone but 3 hours later they called and said no one was available in this area. I called this fine gentleman and he said he could be out in 20 min. My spare of course was flat so he ran and put air in it. Came back and put the spare on for me. He advised me of a few things to tell the Technician when we get the car into the shop, which was super nice of him because he didn’t have to do that! I wish this guy was in Cedar Rapids because he’d be my “go to” for sure!
And the price-UNBELIEVABLY REASONABLE!

Called for a towing service at 1:30PM today, said they would be there before 3:30PM, and the car is still sitting there… at 7:30PM. Great quality service… NOT
Update: it’s currently the next day, 9AM and the car is still there. Do NOT use BJs. When we call for a tow we expect a tow.
I was stuck for six hours in the middle of the night on hhe highway because they didn't want to travel 38 miles to help me AFTER confirming with roadside assistance that they were coming! NEVER will they get my business again and I will encourage my company to drop them as a provider.
Much better and faster reliable service in comparison to AAA roadside service, who left me waiting for 3 hours on the interstate without letting me know they had an issue with getting in touch with their own tow truck company.

They refused to help with a tire change 5 miles from town. 24 hr roadside means they will answer the phone. They dont care if you spend all night on the side of the highway.
After close to SIX hours of dealing with the GoodSam Travel Assist people, they finally found a way "home" for our vehicle (which had broken down) and our 32' travel trailer. BJ's Towing sent a flat bed, and had another truck on stand-by if needed, for the trailer.
No second vehicle was needed. BJ's driver got my vehicle loaded, the trailer hitched, and we were off and running! Once they were involved, everything went smooth! Thank you for the awesome job!
They are great. They are nice . We had to tow a car ourselves with a U Haul trailer. We didn't know how to put the damaged car on the trailer . So , they took all their time to help us and did everything with us with so much advices about how to drive safe until home . More , they didn't charge a lot and even discounted the price. We appreciate how helpful they were .
They were prompt and courteous with safely towing our heavy-duty truck off the interstate to a repair shop, as well as moving our fifth wheel to a nearby campground until truck could be repaired. I highly recommend them! Thank you BJ!
BJ helped me get my vehicle back on the road where others had failed. Will use his company again, if I ever need to, and will definitely recommend him to others!

Took forever to show for lock out and showed with out all the tools towing second occasion handed my only key over let them know and not 5 minutes later knocked to try to get the key from me which they already had vehicle went to sons shop sat a week before looked at after acting like they already were and then lost the key I feel lied about about not replacing my ignition new key works for the ignition but not my doors old key worked for all new key is very loose I. Doors and doesn't work after 4 times trying to get it recut and waiting waiting they wanted me to drop it back off to get it molded and a new key but after a month and half I already gave up and gave up and will not return
My truck broke down on dirt road outside Parnell at 4:45 pm. He was there promptly after I called. He was kind, courteous, and helpful. Had it towed to my mechanic in no time! Could not ask for a more courteous man. Thank you BJ. 😊
I called them for towing and was told they would be there at a certain time which they weren’t. After an one hour and 30 minutes I had to call them to see what was going on?! The guy answered act like I was inconveniencing him just by asking if he was on his way which he wasn’t. I hung up the phone and called another tow company Vance 24 hour towing. After I hung out with Vance I called the guy back, the guy was rude, very short tempered, and hung up in my face! Terrible customer service, very unprofessional! Would not recommend to anyone I know!
Had a blowout on motorhome that caused additional damage and made towing difficult. Driver did what needed to get done and got motorhome to repair shop.
