Hi folks, I get that not everyone’s experience is the same, but i have nothing but good things to say about LRS. For me, they have been reliable and always willing to take a few extra bags that don’t fit in the crate. We had a two extremely large loads recently (literally a dozen or more contractor bags along with full bins) along with one item larger than four feet (you are allowed one of those each week too). And yea, i do tip them occasionally, cause frankly they deserve it. I’m a fan. ?

Just becuase your driver is pissed he knocked my bin doesn't mean take it. Thats an 80 bin your just stole and destroyed. You brushed today's calls off. Unprofessional and unacceptable

Super frustrated with this company we had a missed pick up since Tuesday morning called everyday since to get answers to when someone was picking up my recycle it is Friday 2pm and no one is giving me answers and my recycle is still out on the curve. They claim the dispatcher is not responding to them and it has been 3 days and there’s no one else I can talk to so basically wait until they decide it’s a good idea to pick up my recycle or when the dispatcher cares to send someone out so ridiculous.

Been waiting for leaves to get vacuumed for 2 weeks. I call LRS and just sit on hold. After leaving a call-back message, someone called me. After asking them to come vacuum the leaves, the person said they would find out what is going on and put me on hold. And that is where I am still at. Issues don't get resolved. Horrible, horrible Service!

There’s a noise ordinance for a reason. When people are forced to live in a construction zone, it’s to ensure we get some sense of normalcy and peace. But I’ll be damned if you aren’t out there at 6:30 (noise ordinance runs until 7 AM) w your back up alarms blaring and dumping off a 500# dumpster on the construction site. I hope someone comes and disturbs your sleep and winds up your pet 30 mins before you’re scheduled to wake up for the day. But hey - you start earlier and probably get off work earlier. I hope you get stuck in endless traffic on your way home and get a flat tire 5 miles from your house.

They (without any notification) started charging $10 per month if you pay with a check. Very sneaky of them! They do this to avoid looking like they are raising prices.

This service is absolutely horrible!!! I would give no stars if possible!!!! I have called them multiple times about service issues and have received absolutely no help at all, all they tell me is that they will call me back and then never do. Then they try to tell me that they didn’t take over our original service with garden prairie disposal and that we have to pay for extra waste to be picked up. On top of that they decided to take one of our garbage cans with them that I purchased privately and not through them and refuse to pay me or credit the account for taking property that was not theirs to take. DO NOT USE LRS waste services they are the absolute worst service and have the worst customer service the representatives don’t listen to you at all.

Pick up is fine but if you have to call them, you will wait on the line for 10-20 minutes before speaking to anyone. They ask "if you'd like to have a call back, press one" but pressing 1 does absolutely nothing, so you just continue to wait. Would never recommend this company to anyone.

I continue to get invoiced for services. The services have been canceled in 2020. They send bogus invoices and no one, no one rectifies the matter. Reporting you guys to BBB doesn’t help either!

I've lived in my house a month and this is by far the worst garbage company ive ever used. they didnt take my trash and claimed that the bin was too heavy for the driver to pull it out for the truck. I am an average sized female and by no means even close to body builder fitness levels and I had zero issues moving the can myself. the website says no weight limit if its inside the container, then why is my garbage left for me? we called we emailed and their customer service is just as terrible. nothing was done so now ill have two weeks of garbage to hold onto before they come around again. completely ridiculous. oakwood hills needs a new garbage company this one is trash!

Horrible horrible company, at least the Wauconda branch is. Mean, disrespectful employees in the office. You can never get an honest answer out of anyone there and that's if they even answer the phones. You should be ashamed of yourselves for working in customer service.

Just a very poor attitude from the drivers. Leaving cans in the middle of the road. Forgetting to pick up items. Dropping items into the flower bed that they should have picked up, etc etc. Maybe not 1-star experience for me, but definitely not also 3 -star. UPDATE: A few years later and nothing has changed except I’ve updated to 1 Star because it has become obvious that the drivers will use any opportunity to make your life miserable by going out of their way to not pick up your garbage. And I say this as someone who only has his cans half filled most of the time and make it as easy as possible for the drivers to do their job. UPDATE: 1 week later and the driver purposely (I watched him from inside the house) left the recycle can unpicked up while picking up the regular trash. An early afternoon call to LRS (after a 45-minute wait) led to a statement of “oh he just missed it, we’ll have him pick it up later” resulted in no pickup and another full can to try and get thru the holiday weekend. Mind you the recycle can was completely closed and was full of carefully stripped down cardboard delivery boxes -perfect for recycling. Hopefully our village will be soon be replacing the contract with LRS for a competitor such as Groot.

Driver has spilled garbage and left it on the street on many occasions. Pick up time is never consistent. If you have a choice go with another garbage disposal provider.

I feel like this is not even real that a company can do business like this, and STAY in business!! I got a bill last week with crazy charges on it, and I have called 4x and left 4 detailed messages (after waiting on hold for about 20 minutes each time) over the last week. After no return call, I emailed. No response. I then saw these reviews, and called the 844. number they put in their responses. That takes you to the exact message as the local number.....that NO ONE ever answers. There is literally NO ONE on the other side of that line. Now, I will need to give a letter to my garbage guy tomorrow, begging to cancel, and I'll have to ask him not to come back next week.

This company is refusing to pick up the yard waist from me unless I will pay additional $25 dollars. They are extorting money from elderly people. They are saying that my bucket has more then 50lbs of yard waist without putting it on scale. I have spoken with Nicky and Deborah and both were rude and did not care unless I agree to pay $25 on top of my regular invoice. I live on fixed income and do not have extra cash laying around. Support elders not rip the off!! Shame on you LRS!! It is awesome that someone took the time to review it and asked me to call them at the number, however I have been on hold for 45 minutes and no one is responding. LRS is just trying to look good on these complaints, but they do not work to mitigate these complaints... Come on LRS.

If you are shopping for garbage / recycling service, don’t even bother. We had problems in the beginning and again recently; missed pickups, “system errors” that resulted in an increase in our bill. I was the one to catch it, NOT them. When I talked to a manager, she said “oh ya, you’re not the only one, we’ve had some system errors”. Clearly, they knew about the problem and didn’t bother to audit or check customer bills. Just wait for the customer to call and complain. Manager also got snippy about me calling customer service: “why are you calling customer service and not your rep?!!” Like I’m supposed to have my rep on speed dial or know who to call for what. Then, why even bother having people for “customer service” if CUSTOMERS are not supposed to call them??

If I could give zero stars, I would. We cancelled our service over a month ago and after multiple calls to request a credit, we still have not received it. Every rep says they don't see a credit request on the account. Our cans were picked up over two weeks ago (that was a struggle in itself) but somehow were still showing as active pick-up. This company is a joke and good luck with customer service. It's usually ported to another company and it's multiple hours on hold just to get that.

This has been one of the worst experiences with a waste collection service. The equipment constantly breaks down, and during a recent pickup, the garbage truck malfunctioned. Instead of resolving the issue properly, the garbage collector pulled trash out of the truck and dumped it next to our bins. To make matters worse, the trash left behind wasn’t even from our household. This is unacceptable on every level—completely unprofessional and careless. I’ve tried reaching out multiple times: no one answers the phone, and the online contact form gets no response. There’s no accountability, no communication, and clearly no pride in the service they provide. The company has failed in every possible way

I recently closed on a home in Crystal Lake. I first requested service on the 7th of January. I still have not received my trash bins or recycling bins. It’s now the 22nd, three weeks and four calls inquiring when I would receive my bins, with false promises twice that they would be delivered. Disgusting. Time to file a complaint with Crystal Lake City Hall and the Health Department.

Terrible customer service. Came to pick up at 7am the day after a holiday. Charged to return and pick up and never came. When I called they closed the ticket noting pick up complete. Issue escalated and we are on day 3 with no one contacting us or even doing the job they quickly charged me for!

Does not return calls. Poor customer service. What is the point of calling customer service if you want me to email you for assistance!? That is not convenient at all. If you check your call log, you should be able to find out my info and the reason why I contacted you. Unfortunately, I do not have time to do your job, nor the patience to repeat why I had contacted you in the first place. I refuse to engage in that type of behavior. If your assistants wanted to help, they should have returned my call over 72hrs ago.

Terrible company. They lie about saying they’ve picked up garbage when they haven’t. Then have the audacity to say I can pay a $15 dollar charge fee for them to come pick it up. Our garbage was put out the night before and they say it wasn’t there when they came. We have cameras to prove it but they still want to say it wasn’t out. ****** RESPONSE TO LRS COMMENT ******* What does this company not understand, we have cameras too and I would be happy to show you guys the video, if you show me your video. Nice try on trying to gaslight. Why would I pay extra when I automatically pay for a service that was not done. You guys are a joke. And the people that respond to the google reviews isn’t very bright. Only thing I can hope for is our town changes garbage companies.

Update #2 - Following a missed pickup I sent an email and left a voicemail. To my surprise, the same afternoon they sent a truck all the way to my backdoor (my drive is .2 mile) and picked up what they had missed. It's easier to make allowances for an oversight when the company makes a sincere and prompt effort to make things right. Gold star well earned Original review: Steady, unannounced price increases without explanation and difficult access to prior statements to compare. Update: 5 months after the price increase and service continues to deteriorate. Late and missed pickups. Interminable holds for customer service calls, which might be answered, placed on hold again, and then hung up. 2nd update: It's probably futile to add to the long list of poor reviews. They don't seem to care in the least that their customer service is spectacularly poor. Imagine wondering every week if the trash service for which you've promptly paid is going to be provided. That's LRS in a nutshell

They have literally stolen from me. I paid for 3 months of service and the service was cancelled 1 month later (the area collectively changed to one waste service), so they have kept the cost of 2 months of service. I've called two separate times asking for a refund of my money, and so far since mid February, they've just... done nothing. They still have my money. They won't give it back. Do not do business with this company, as it appears I'm going to have to go to small claims court to get my refund.

Didn't have any issues with pickup, but they are disorganized and their customer service is almost non existent! I was attempting to transfer service to my new home for over two weeks with little response over email. I had to ask for a response to my inquiry many times over many days to get the account transfered. When "set up" over the phone finally, there was a two week wait (after already waiting two weeks for a response) and then over email told me the account actually wasn't set up and ready to go. I then cancelled service and asked for confirmation that the account is closed so I can get service elsewhere, still no response.

What is up with this company? The yard waste collection people seem to be making it their life's mission to destroy this can. This is the bin that we used as our primary garbage can when we lived in Algonquin for 2.5 years. Was never damaged. Now it looks like this because of Prairieland. This is damage over the past 2 years. Prairieland's phone rep said they're not responsible for damage to the can (BUT, we can always rent their bin for yard waste, for a monthly fee. Cool.) I'm reaching out to the city about Prairieland, I can't believe they ever contracted with this company to begin with. UPDATE: Drivers of one of the yard waste trucks just turned the corner so hard outside my house that a piece of the truck fell off. They're kicking the part around. Prairieland, seriously, please hire more professional people. Emotional states aside, these people were objectively driving wrecklessly, and it seems from reading other reviews that this behavior isn't new.

Attached please find the pictures of the way the driver was acting while today collection. He left behind big mess and rest of the garbage along with recycle. He was driving like crazy, unsafety, rush, angry very much unprofessional.

On Friday March 11th 2022 at approximately 2pm, a Prairie Land (owned by Lakeshore Recycling Systems) garbage truck driver negligently ripped the overhead power line from my house when using the mechanical arm to pick up garbage bins, damaging my power box and causing me to lose power when the temperature was in the single digits for that weekend. The company has made absolutely zero effort to even apologize for what they did, let alone try and fix or reimburse the damage that they had done. I tried calling several times and left messages with multiple customer service reps with zero follow up. Unfortunately since they have a contract with the city of Crystal Lake, I do not even have the luxury of never using them again as they have a monopoly on waste management in the area. If you have any say in your waste management provider is, stay as far away from this company as possible.

Lawn waste driver failed to pick up my plastic garbage can with lawn waste sticker on it when he picked up both of my neighbors lawn waste. I called the office and politely informed the young lady who took my call that I had been missed and needed the truck to return and pick up my lawn waste. When the driver returned, he emptied my can, turned it upside down and left it in the street. That is not where I left it for pick up and do not expect it left in the street. Driver should leave it in the driveway where he found it. This is not the first time I have had pick up issues and not the first time when the driver returned that my receptacle was left out in the street. POOR service from lawn waste driver today.
