Don’t go here. Take a 5 minute trip down to Global. They pay triple than what these guys do. Had a horrible first experience with over 600lb of metal only to get $18.
Was scrapping an entire cell site here basically. Heres a text i sent to my boss:
Hey these dudes here were awesome. Couldnt get in the driveway due to scraping because of its angle so they had me park on the road and brought the hoppers over They also had two dudes helping unload this scrap and stuff. We had all sorts of heavy steel which I couldve handled alone but shouldnt have and Iwouldve been here a lot longer.
Never had such a positive experience at as scrapyard as this. My last trip was an absolute nightmare.
Easy and it seems like they take everything but when I called to check if they would take the small appliance I wanted to recycle. The guy said that they would give me some money for it and when I showed up to drop it off I was told to go to the back garage instead of the office and a man told me to put it in a box and said thank you. Have a nice day. So I guess they don't actually give you money for small appliances
Great service but terrible prices they give for scrap. Compared to what you get at some of the competitors in town. This place only gives you about half of what they would give you. Not worth it.
They charge too much for electronics, beware! They wanted me to pay $35 for 22 inch computer monitor. Instead look into recycling provided by your town or village
Will never use place again went in with brass and copper thought bar foot was copper because greened like used copper pipe not yellow shine like other brass pieces I asked copper he said right away brass I said you sure went grind look grind more look didn't show me just said ya brass had a box of new at that brake lines that are copper nickle they said brass I said they are sold as copper he grind looked got manager and the manager asked how much I had they went by grinder to talk the manager comes back and shows me mine and some piece of there's and I didn't see and difference and he says they know what they are looking at but I did google because I'm so mad about it and says brake lines are 90% copper and 10% nickle brass is 60% I believed I was ripped off by a least 20 pounds turned from copper at 2.50 to brass 1.40 not fair
Not worth going you’re going to get insulted and belittled by the manager and plus I don’t feel they are very accurate with the weighing the scrap 11-21-22
The service has always been fine. If they paid even close to a competitive rate for steel I'd give them 4 or 5 stars, but they pay less than 1/2 in some cases about 1/3 of other area scrap yards. Maybe they simply don't want little scrap metal guys bothering them with their scrap metal. They've got several locations so they must be doing something right.
Been bringing scrap here for almost a year now. Compared to other places I've called in the area for pricing, they have fair pricing. I cannot say that I have ever had a bad experience.
I brought in 300 lbs of steel was given less than $3.00...dont waste your time or gas money they will take advantage of you and RIP you off. I'm a successful business owner so it's not that I need the money however I can ensure you this is not how you run a business. What goes around comes around.
I don't know about for metal, but for copper this has always been the best place for price I have found period. Fluctuates just like the market, but pound for pound always top on the scaling.
I have been to at least ten scrapyards. this one is the only one that unloaded my truck for me. the staff was friendly and we joked around. they helped make it kind of fun. it was the cleanest yard u went to. no glass anywhere in tge lot. 5 stars for staff. 1 star one metal prices. however, even though tgis was the lowest price, I did not check metal prices to compare, I simply assume it should be more
Elgin recyclers are thieves don't take your scrap metal there. Specially aluminum or Steel. Even copper I was told $0.04 on aluminum when I got there I spoke to the manager he said I have dirty aluminum because it has oil and dirt on it. If I wash it and clean it will give me $0.30. Really what kind of BS is that. I took same material to another salvage yard and I got $0.35 per pound I took brake rotors to these guys they were giving me $0.03 per pound I took it to another yard and they're paying $0.08 per pound. I have a YouTube video watch I have the proof of the receipt from Elgin recyclers and the other location I strongly urge all Scrappers to stay away from this place they're thieves and con artists.
If I could a zero I would. They are rude I would never do business with them.i felt as they were also racist. I rather travel 30 minutes to another location than go here
they weight everything and than take your stuff. They don't give u a good estimate or give you a chance to see what other people have to offer. When you do get your money they don't give you a receipt so you don't know how much you actually got person item. horrible experience.
