Screwed me on cooper wiring definitely will watch a lot closer next time house hold wiring is 2 dollars a pound and they only gave me 70 cents a pound for it and called it mixed wiring bunch of rip off.... Not impressed at all
Brought in over 140+ pounds of copper, on the board in front it says 3.40/lb, but going in they only gave me 1.20/lb. When I asked them why they were only giving me 1.20/lb, they said it was because it was dirty and they had to clean it, which wasn’t the case at all. Don’t go there!!!
Brought in copper wire and was told it was mixed. I know what wire I use so thanks for saving yourself 1.60/lb. Won't be coming back anytime soon unless I have a 98 Silverado with a bed full of bicycles and old hub caps
Called them to inquire about stripped copper wires. The person that I talked with said, unless I stop by to their facility, they don't give out pricing (quotes) for stripped copper wires.
What a waste of time. I called ahead to see if they would take what I had, which was a YES. Then when I got there they would not take it. I believe the problem is the person on the phone and at the window does not speak English well. Says yes to a lot of things as an acknowledgment.
This place is a joke! They will take a load from you and just hrs later refuse to take the same scrap. The employee I had problems with has given me trouble before and I've seen him do it to other people. Guy working the weigh out counter wanted me to dump what I had. Don't waste the time even driving here.
Horrible place. I just went to scrap copper. It says clearly on the board $3.00 a pound. I had 594 pounds of it. The wrote a check for $2.20 a pound. I questioned why and they said cuz I had some brass mixed in with it. I did not have 100 pounds of brass. They played on the fact that I already unloaded it and had to leave. They didn't tell me ahead of time that it would be less. Bluff city recycling has never done that to me. I should have went there.
The male workers outside were very nice and helpful but the lady in the office had a nasty attitude. My advice is if you don't like your job get a new 1.
Brought in some 4/0 copper cable. The rude young woman at the counter said it was house wire. Gave me almost half what I could have gotten at Elgin Recycling. Big mistake trying this place. Learned my lesson.
I called and asked the current rate for copper, the woman didn't even answer my question. she just kept repeating no. no explanation just the word "NO!" Will I be taking my scrap there ever again? "NO!" not to mention I previously had my wallet stolen from there, and they claimed they couldn't see anything on their surveillance camera that was pointing at the counter... because it was probably one of the employees.
Terrific customer service to the point it didn't even matter what I made off the scrap. Had a terrible experience with bluff city recycling(would not recommend) and will never return there. Bens global recycling has earned a loyal customer. So thank you and ill be back. They are terrific.
Terrible experience mainly due to the customer service of whoever the hell the lady was that speaks over the intercom given decent money but terrible customer service
