Mike was such a great person from day one. He was very honest, good communication. Very professional. I was having problem with my insurance company to get my car fix. Mike was very understanding compare to two other body shops I took my car to. He took the time to called and assure them, my car was not a total loss. They looked in my claim, and for the third time, because of Mike and how good and professional he is. they approve my car to get fixed. My car is like new after picking up, they did such a good job. I’m so appreciative of Mike and his team. I would recommend Derek auto body shop. The best in the business.

Pretty upsetting when you need body work on a 6 month old car. I got 3 quotes done for the same problem. Derek's auto body came in similar to a lower quote. Only difference is that they didn't 'foresee' other issues. The other places quoted me for other things that 'might' be wrong with the damage raising the price to triple the actual damage/parts. Mike was honest and they did a great job. 100% going there for all future needs.
Mike was super helpful and informative throughout the whole process. He kept me updated on the progress of my car and made the whole process as painless as possible.
I highly recommend this shop if you are looking for someone honest and dependable!
This place is absolutely top tier!! If I can give more stars I would. My wife’s car was hit while parked. It was devastating due to the fact that it happened during the holidays & it was the family car. At first glance her car seemed totaled out, but Mike & his crew did an amazing job at restoring it. They did everything from bodywork to paint job, new tires & wheels, an alignment, shit they even repaired the suspension. We feel like we got a brand new car. They did all this while keeping constant communication with us. They offer rentals if you need one. All around we are more than pleased with the service they provided.
I’ve had a chance to work with Mike at Derrick’s autobody twice and he is fantastic along with his crew. I feel confident and leaving my car with them knowing I’m getting excellent service, fair pricing and attention to detail. In usually very cautious with mechanics as i am very aware and have experience on how to carry out the maintenance myself - but they’re trust worthy here and get then job done well.

We were in a minor accident that damaged the front of our car. Mike was so great to work with, they only use original parts to repair. They worked seamlessly with the insurance company. They took their time and due diligence, but worked fast and efficiently to get our car back to us. I can’t recommend them enough!

What a great experience from start to finish. Most impressive, beyond the great body work, is their coordination of the job and communication about it. They have new rental cars onsite. They are clear and accurate about the time table for work being done. And everyone who greets you either in person or over the phone is stellar, good-humored, and knowledgable. Amazing body work at Derek’s auto body! I was first time customer my truck had a lot of damage. Mike at front desk is awesome! Keeps in touch with u during the whole process! Can never tell anything was damaged on my truck when getting it back. Almost looks better than it did before the accident. My wife’s car was hit and it was great I knew I can take it to Derek’s for repairs. I would never go anywhere else! I will always recommend this place!
I’ve been using Derek’s auto shop for maintenance and repairs, and I’m so impressed with their work! The body shop is just as fantastic. I gave them a call to see if they could install a window trim on my car, and Mike was able to get me in the same day and complete the job that day.
The customer service is excellent, and the prices are very reasonable compared to other body shops in the area.

I really don't post reviews all that often but I have to say, Derek's is the place for your body shop needs! Not only is their work top notch, but Mike's service, responsiveness, professionalism and demeanor is best in class. He keeps you updated on the progress, works through the insurance claims department and makes the whole process super easy from a customer viewpoint. Trust me, the best here!!
I visited today to request a quote, and my husband briefly went into the neighboring restaurant. When I parked in the lot to retrieve him, an employee knocked aggressively on the window and told me to move. As I waited for my husband, the same worker got into a vehicle and honked at me. The behavior was completely uncalled for.
I live in the city and I go here for any and all car issues. I’ve been ripped off so many times when I try to find a local, a little more closer to me, mechanic and never again. These guys are worth the drive if you’re outside of Des Plaines because the honest work, quick turn around time and customer service (super friendly guys) are so worth it!! Derek’s Auto was great to work with! I brought my car there for rust repair and they provided a quick and fair estimate. They also worked with me to schedule the work for a date that worked best for both us and had the work complete on time. Mike was incredibly friendly and answered all my questions. After an accident, I needed my whole back bumper and left blind spot sensor replaced, and my exhaust pipe was completely on the ground. Derek's Auto Body replaced everything with new parts and fixed the exhaust pipe. My car looks great, like no damage even happened! One of the employees, Mike, contacted me regularly for updates and explained what repairs were taking place. When I picked up my car, I realized that they also cleaned it - dusted dashboard, vacuumed, possibly polished seats - it was unexpected, but very appreciated.

This place killed it on my repair on my 18 Legacy, took care of me beyond expectations. Mike has amazing customer service and didnt skip a beat to answer any questions of any sort. Also this was thru insurance from getting hit at no fault and parked. I highly reccomend bringing your car here. 10/10
