My engine light came on just days before my plate sticker was to expire but it needed to pass the emissions test. I took it to TrueTech for analysis. They worked for a few days to trace the source of the problem, because some engine codes were proven false, and the actual source was found to be an intermittently loose sensor. I know a VW dealer would have charged me for every second they worked to trace it. But Matt only charged me their flat fee for analysis and the cost of the sensor replacement. But that was not all. They also took my car to the emissions station to be sure it passed and saved me an hour-long round trip plus time waiting in line. Literally, they went the extra miles for me. Who does that? This was one of several visits to TrueTech in recent years after losing my mechanic of 30 years (Denny G - RIP) and I am fortunate to have found them to be just as honest and capable... possibly more.

My car broke down by O'Hare, had it towed there based off the good reviews. Now I can add my own 5-star review to this outstanding shop. They were pros, fixed my car quickly and at a fair price. Highly recommend. They know what they're doing and Matt was super. A+!

I have never met a more honest and trustworthy place to service my automobiles than TruTech Auto. I don't refer anyone to anything I don't feel 100% sure of. That said, I recommend you use them to service your cars.

Matt and team are super helpful and honest! They couldn’t find a part replacement but were able to fix the problem in my car. They didn’t charge me. I will highly recommend!

If you have a big or complicated problem this is the place to go. I knew I had a bad differential but they started out with a complete evaluation that found a couple other problems. Since I was giving the car to the kid I appreciated knowing all this. Matt tracked down a differential (harder to find than I thought) and worked with me to address the biggest issues. At the end Matt and Steve fixed the problems while respecting my budget and I rest easy knowing there won’t be any midnight breakdowns. Thanks, guys.

I’ve been a loyal customer of this shop for over 10 years. All my car services, routine maintenance, repairs, everything, have been done here. Their work has always been solid, no complaints on the quality of service itself. That’s why what happened recently left a bad taste. A few months back, my car wouldn’t start. I had it towed to the shop. Later, I got a call saying it was a minor issue, just loose battery terminals. They tightened them up and said the car was good to go. I show up to pick it up and was told I owed $75. No parts were replaced (as far as I know), and all they did was tighten a couple of battery nodes. It’s not about the $75, it’s about the principle. After a decade of giving them all my business, I expected a little goodwill. A long-standing customer relationship should mean something. Even a small courtesy like waiving a basic fix would have gone a long way in keeping my trust. Instead, I felt like just another invoice. Since that day, I’ve stopped going to this place for any of my car service needs. The work is fine. But if you’re expecting any recognition or appreciation for loyalty, don’t count on it.

True Tech has worked on my Tacoma twice already and they did excellent work. They worked on my breaks and transmission and everything is working perfectly. I felt that it was important for them to be honest with me and gave me a very fair price for the work done. 10/10 would recommend to anyone that is looking for professional work at a fair price. These guys go above and beyond.

I am two months out from some sizable work on my 100k mileage car. It was difficult to pull the trigger on new CV Joints, bearings, control arms and more given the age and mileage... but I'm so happy I did. Truetech went above and beyond to make sure all the little quirks related to how it was driving were resolved (not an easy task), and even drove the car themselves to get it inspected after a failed emissions test that would have cost me substantially if they weren't able resolve at the emissions site. I've put 2,000 miles on since the work was completed and I'm really glad I went with Truetech... I may have given up on this car otherwise.

We have been taking our cars to TrueTech for about 10 years. They have provided excellent service and are honest and trustworthy. Matt, Steve and Matt are very communicative. I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for quality auto repair service.

Had a flat tire not too far from the shop on a frigid day and was able to get it over to them to repair. They took my car right away, fixed the flat and the spare for a very fair price. Really appreciated their help and customer service in a pinch.

The guys at True Tech are awesome! Most importantly, I trust them to do right by me and give me an honest opinion about what needs to be done. My Honda Odyssey has run perfectly this past year because of their competent, honest advice.

Honest shop, never had an issue here. TrueTech is trusted with our 2011 Mazda as well as our 2013 Prius from oil changes to major repairs. TrueTech has never pushed unnecessary services or products on me--something which drove me away from another local auto repair shop. Owner goes to church locally, and knows some of the pastors in town. I even heard Karl Claussen from Moody Radio Chicago complimenting TrueTech. The owner answers to a higher authority, so I know that I am getting good work at reasonable, honest prices. 5/29/24: We needed a cracked windshield replaced on our 2011 CX-9 quickly so that we could make it to my mother-in-law's funeral in South TX. TrueTech was able to schedule their window guy to replace the windshield the next day (at a very reasonable price) so that we were able to make it to the funeral on time. 12/31/24: Simple oil change and tire rotation on a 2013 Prius. I was able to wait for it. They advised me about a light bulb that needed changing, and about needing brakes in the near future ("Prii", and probably most hybrids, are very gentle on brakes because of the regen). I got a quote on brakes so I know what to expect at the next oil change.

I may have written a review in the past, but I want to update this to say that I continue to be grateful for the high level of honest service I receive at TrueTech. It might seem like a small thing, but recently I purchased a new used car, and the tire pressure kept showing low. Matt in service fixed it along with my oil change for a very reasonable price, and now I have peace of mind. I can always trust TrueTech to do a great job!

I have been taking my vehicles to Matt for several years now and it’s always nice to be able to have a mechanic you can trust even though you don’t know much about cars. Update…a lot of years later and my car is still working great and am able to let my daughter who is turning 16 use it! 2010 Corolla! thanks Tru Tech!

Took my car here after taking it to two other places and was told exactly what needed repairs and not overpriced. Ryan was knowledgeable and knew actually what needed to be done. Very professional, detailed and confident that I'd be happy once he was done working on my car. I left satisfied and very impressed with his service! My new go-to for car repairs.

You could take your car to a cheap instant oil change for an oil change if cheap is what you want. If you want a trusted mechanic to change your oil AND inspect your car for wear and tear items like brakes, suspension, engine/transmission leaks before they become big problems go to TrueTech where you will always be talking to trustworthy mechanics that are always competent, honest, and overall "good guys". Staying on top of routine maintenance will save you money and give you a more reliable car to enjoy.

Recently had my 97 Toyota in for some small repairs & new tires. I'm very happy with the repair work. The alignment is great and the service advisor Steve, was fantastic!

I have been bringing my cars here for a few years. The do very high quality work. What I really appreciate that they are upfront and honest. I brought in my 2018 GMC Acadia because it threw a code for a catalytic converter issue. They could have fixed it, charged me a couple of grand and I would have been none the wiser. Instead they informed me I should take the car to the dealership where I would be covered by a federal emissions waranty. In fact they took the extra step and contacted a dealership who confirmed that work would be covered. There are a lot of shifty mechanics out there that would take advantage of a customer for a quick buck, these guys are NOT that kind of shop.

I only wish I would have found Matt and his team years ago.! Have you heard the expression " you get what you pay for" ? I used to think that was true because I would take my Audi to a reputable mechanic and they would charge me a fortune and then mickey mousse the work. Because I like to give people the benefit of doubt, I would assume they did what they told me. If I was a vindictive person I would give you all their names warning you not to go there. Instead, I will urge you to go to Tru Tech. These guys are the real deal. I can honestly say I will NEVER take my vehicle anywhere else to be serviced !

I fully trust the work of the mechanics at Truetech. I have taken my cars to them for over nine years. They recommend what needs to be taken care of promptly and allowing me the chance to wait on jobs that could be done in later times.

Great service, great communication and friendly staff - what else can you ask for? Brought my wife's car in for A/C now blowing cold air. TrueTech did their due diligence to test the system before recommending any services as to not waste any time or money. I was hoping for just low Freon, but ultimately they found a leak in the A/C compressor, and got it fixed quickly. Glad they found the leak else I'd be back in a few months for low Freon again...

We've been taking our cars here for years for everything from maintenance to major repairs. Once you find a great place that's local and locally owned, there's no reason to go anywhere else. Matt and his team are friendly, knowledgeable, honest and fair. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for an auto repair shop you can rely on.

I usually don’t do reviews but I feel I have to. I went here because they were highly recommended. I went to have my vehicle checked out. After 2 hours I was told what the problem was. This was fine. What wasn’t fine is that the owner charged me 244.00 Dollars just to check on my car. I was unaware of this charge when I made my appointment. Also was not told when I arrived. I wanted to not pay for this as we are all struggling on many different levels. The owner told me that if I come back to have the service he will take that off my bill. I felt trapped

First time client here … and let me tell you … I will continue to bring all my cars here … we have always been the “take it to a friend of a friend to fix” type of ppl but this was a recommended shop and the “ friend” couldn't fix the problem so we decided to come to True Tech… made an appt I was told a time frame and communication through out the day was great! Matt was absolutely honest with everything my car had going on… highly recommend for all your car needs !
