Misleading time on the website they say they close at 12:30 I got here at 12:20 and they wouldn’t take anything and they were closed. I drove over 45 minutes to get here just to be turned away 10 minutes earlier before they even close very unpleased.
Bare Metals claims to Close at 4:30 I showed up at 4:21 and there was a man standing at the gate denying service to vehicles coming in when asked about them not closing till 4:30 he simply replied that they like to Leave at 4:30. I understand pulling in 9 minutes before closing is a burden on the employees but there should be some kind of advertising claiming that the gates close at 4:20 so people don’t waste their gas and time
Simple and easy to understand how their operation works! Great customer service, staff and workers are nice, friendly and helpful. Great prices compared to their other location in Sharpsburg/Newnan GA. Definitely recommended in the griffin and close surrounding area! Also as a reminder... Come 430pm on weekdays, it's clock out time and they are rett ta go!! Lol

But as far as my REVIEW OF BEAR METALS, You Thanked Me for a great Review, and ask what Services I used.... Then You ASKED WHAT I LIED ABOUT DURING MY VISIT... and I don't APPRECIATE Being Ask What I LIED ABOUT DURING MY VISIT, That's BAD BUSINESS ETHICS to ask a CUSTOMER THAT, I DID NOT LIE ABOUNT ANY THING ON MY VISIT...!!! I brought in Wire for Recycling, AND I LOVE BEAR METALS, it is the only Scrap Yard I will EVER go to... they are by far THE BEST. I have been going to Bear Metals since before thay ever changed Ownership. The employee's are VERY VERY FRIENDLY... CHRIS IS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME...!!! I'm not sure THE LADIES Names where you get your check (but I know them I SEE THEM), BUT THE ARE ALSO ABSOLUTELY AWESOME AS WELL... !!!!
My first time visiting this site in griffin . I was hesitant to go up to this place because before i went i called twice . The girl on the phone was so rude each time like i was bothering her . She told me it’s 8 dollars for every 100 pound . I went up there sold a whole used Kia engine and they gave me 30 darn dollars . The worker there almost with the glasses was rude as heck too ordering me to help him to see how to remove the engine from my car . Baby that is ur job . But 30 was very scam like . For a whole engine ? They made sure they didn’t disclose what they offered me until they printed it out on a damn check. Even then i shouldn’t have accepted that.
Had a few hundred pounds of copper wire got a offer of .75 a pound, l left went to another scrap yard and got 1.90 a pound . That was my first time at bare metals and my last, I know you have to make a profit, but that's almost highway robery. Have a nice life, and merry Christmas
Great prices, but I don't feel like they sorted my metal correctly. I brought quite a lot of cast aluminum, which got put down on my ticket wrong. I don't mind having to argue, but if I hadn't noticed, I would have lost some money.
Great hours of operation - Fair prices usually the highest payout in the surrounding area including Morrow, Lake Harbin, Fayetteville. Professional and friendly! These guys are great!
You can cash the check you get right across the street (of course they charge a fee)
Nice work area. It's been cleaned up and organized So I was impressed. The pay is desent. Make Sure you have your ID in hand. They will not accept digital ID's. Employees help you here also. Oh make sure if you bring a vehicle that it has a clear title with no leans against it. They do check.
Was a great place to take scrap until today when to my surprise and utter shock, I noticed a return check fee post to my bank account. I was paid with a check that bounced! My bank has mailed the check back to me and once received I will take it up with management at the Bare Metals location. If not corrected including the extra bounced check fee I will expect my scrap returned to me and will report to the BBB.

Bare Metals cut me a new check and added additional funds to cover the overdraft fee. Although it was a inconvenience, they corrected the problem!
Apparently they have this new thing with their bank that is less than 10 mins from them. They have to scan it upload the check that they give you to the bank now and it takes an hour. So you can't cash it for an hour!! Really ridiculous for people who are coming from another city to have to wait that long it else pay someone else to cash it.
I can say the people there are nice but when you pull up and it’s 430 you get in the gate for them to only tell you we’re closed your website says 5 PM you need to Specifically say after 4:30 PM you can’t come in the gate so pretty much they close at 4:30 PM. Other than that great place great people and reasonable prices
This scrap yard is by far the best that I have ever been to. I have been going to bear metals now for around 10 years. The employee's are very friendly and even my 7 year old daughter loves the people.
Best scrap yard in all surrounding counties. Chris runs the inside scale and always gives incredible service. Great service and great prices gets 5 stars for me.
Update: It looks like management has made some changes for the better. I can now recommend you go there. Always bring help if you have a big load as they still don't offer a lot of help. Otherwise a decent place

Great place even though we are overwhelmed at times. Short on workers as the prices are low. If u need help, tell the cashier at window and she will notify someone to help you. Worked there for year and a half now. Not bad at all.
Never going there again. I had a trailer full of aluminum...that only came out to be 180 pounds...? Not the place to go if you are doing a solo run. A few employees are there to help, but don’t expect it. Did not have much help at all, and the return amount of money for all of my metal was extremely low. Would probably be best to check other places and reading more reviews before taking your scraps here.
Also be sure to not go between noon and 1pm if you do go.
Went there today for the first time, very friendly staff. Everyone was so helpful in pointing me in the right direction. Would recommend anyone who is looking to scrap/recycle anything
Will never go there again. I had a truck load of aluminum. Nobody would help. Very rude. While I was weighing the aluminum, one of there employees ran up and took a bin off the scale. Then their computer breaks down. After resetting the computer, I realized that one of the bins were missing. There was no way to prove my side because they took the metal away. This is the second time I have had problems with this location. Sure they pay a few more cents for aluminum, but if they are not giving you your true weight. So what. They said a plastic container i used to bring in some scrap weighed 4 pounds. Liars! I got home and weighed it. It was only 1.5 pounds. This place is a total rip-off. Plus I got a nail in my tire and my tire ran flat as soon as I left. This place is run down. Never again!
Best scrap price around this area. Don't expect something miraculous to happen to your wallet right now by paying the scrapyard a visit because scrap prices are low right now. Although, recently they have been on the rise, if I had a bunch of scrap I would save it until the prices rise a little more. Always know the exact type of material that you intend to recycle and make sure that your receipt is correct in reference to the type of material that you have recycled, to ensure you receive the proper amount that your material is worth. (Tip: copper wire is made with petroleum products in and on the sheathing of the wire and if the prices of fuel rise, most times so will the prices of copper wire.)
