Disgustingly rude woman answering the phones at this place. How in the world she even has a job is beyond me outside of her being under the desk of the owner on her lunch break. And judging by other reviews here I'm not the only one who's had the problem. Getting cussed at on the phone when trying to set up an appointment to get my stuff from the car is unacceptable! And attempting to charge triple digit prices just to gain access to my own vehicle ought to be criminal. Might as well steer clear of this place if at all possible!
Listen this place is awful I mean awful...if they won't let you get your things out without paying. ALL you have to do is go to the jackson county sheriff's office and ask to speak with the captain. He will call the owner of this awful business and they will release your belongings without payment. IT IS AGAINST THE LAW FOR THEM TO MAKE YOUR PAY FOR YOUR BELONGINGS. THE MORE COMPLAINTS THE CAPTAIN GETS ABOUT THIS PLACE HE WILL TAKE THEM OFF THE LIST OF TOWING COMPANIES THE COUNTY USES.
DONT LET THE OLD DISRESPECTFUL HAG THAT WORKS IN THE OFFICE IN COMMERCE TELL YOU ANY THING, DIFFERENT, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR PHONE RECORDING WHEN YOU INTERACTION WITH HER. BECAUSE SHE WILL TURN IT AROUND AND MAKE IT SEEMED LIKE YOU ARE THE PROLBEM.
THIS PLACE IS JUST AWFUL. IF THEY SHOW UP TO TOW YOUR CAR KINDLY DECLINED OR YOU WILL BE STUCK IN A NIGHTMARE.

In my opinion, Curt’s Towing operates less like a legitimate business and more like a predatory opportunist waiting for people at their most vulnerable moments. Their conduct toward accident victims and vehicle owners is, in my experience, unconscionable, deceptive, and wholly inconsistent with the ethical obligations expected of any company serving the public.
After my recent dealings with this outfit, I can confidently say that Curt’s Towing seems to have perfected a business model that thrives on confusion, fear, and delay. Vehicles are held hostage under the guise of “procedure,” while storage fees quietly accumulate like interest on misery. Transparency is nonexistent, compassion is absent, and professionalism is a foreign concept.
The office staff are, in my opinion, the epitome of customer service failure. The individual who answers the phone appears to take genuine pleasure in being unhelpful, argumentative, and dismissive of anyone unfortunate enough to call seeking assistance. Her demeanor is nothing short of hostile, and she conducts herself with the grace and tact of a parking boot.
The so-called manager—who operates primarily by phone—conducts business with an arrogance and disdain that borders on theatrical. Rather than address concerns, this person escalates them, shifting blame and refusing to accept accountability for the company’s actions. If Curt’s Towing’s internal motto is “Make it the customer’s fault,” they’re achieving it with flying colors.

Consumers should be aware that under Georgia law (and in most jurisdictions), you have the right to select your own towing service after a crash. You are not required to accept the “next on rotation” tow company suggested by police or dispatch. This right exists precisely to protect you from companies like this one, which—based on numerous reviews and my personal experience—appear to exploit the confusion following an accident to maximize profit at your expense.
I strongly encourage local governments, law enforcement, and regulatory authorities to re-examine Curt’s Towing’s participation in any official tow rotation programs. Based on my observations, their behavior undermines public confidence, exploits consumers in distress, and reflects poorly on any agency that endorses or contracts with them.

Was in a car accident where my car was not drivable after. The 911 operator ended up calling Curt’s towing. I would have chosen different, after knowing how they already treat customers. But I wanted to give them the benefit of doubt. The truck driver was very nice and understanding. I did not end up getting any of my things out of my vehicle being it was 4 in the morning. Went in the next day to try and retrieve my necessities out of my vehicle, the lady up front was rude, and told me I could not get my things. I explained to her I am pregnant and also have things I had to have for work in my car. She told me it wasn’t her problem and I should have got it at the time of the accident. I explained it was 4 am. Dark and I was in shock. She told me I could get my things if I paid $350. I told her that was illegal. That she could not request me to pay $350 just for my belongings. She said it was just policy. I finally had enough let my insurance company know what was going on with how I was being treated and I was no longer going to deal with her. It took my agent 2 days to get them to let me get my belongings out of my vehicle before it was towed to get repaired. Never in my whole life have I been taken advantage of that way. Unsure if it was because I am young or because I am a female. Or both.
I was involved in a car accident yesterday morning, and my vehicle was towed to Curt’s. When I called to inquire about the towing and overnight storage fees, the woman on the phone was shockingly rude and unprofessional. She raised her voice, saying, “I AM NOT IN FRONT OF MY COMPUTER! YOU SHOULD HAVE ASKED ME THAT YESTERDAY!”
To make matters worse, upon arriving with another towing company, their employee asked me how much cash I got on me (???)
I was informed that they would only release my car if I paid an outrageous fee of $1,900 for a mere 5 miles of towing and an overnight stay. This is absolutely unacceptable and feels like extortion.
We patiently waited for a receipt, but the staff claimed they didn’t have one. When we pressed for it, they threatened to complicate the release of my car. Knowing some people in the city who could intervene, we mentioned them, and suddenly, the same employee returned to say it was a mistake and that they would now accept $225.
It’s appalling that we had to deal with such unscrupulous behavior after an already traumatic experience. I would give them zero stars if I could!
Worst company I’ve ever seen! They will try to rip you off and they’re the rudest most unprofessional people I’ve ever dealt with! I would leave my car for dead on the side of the road before I would use this horrible company
The lady who answered the phone was just plain mean. I called to ask some questions and she acted like I was bothering her the whole time. Instead of being helpful, she gave me attitude and made me feel unwelcome. That kind of treatment is not how you should speak to people who are just trying to get information.I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. And seriously, what happened to southern hospitality? Around here, we’re raised to greet people kindly and treat them with respect. clearly, she never got that memo. If this is how they think it’s okay to treat customers, I can only imagine how bad the service would be in person.
Had an awesome experience with Curt’s towing for a first time customer. Had a medium size truck that was on the side of the road for over 3 hours because other companies did not have cdl drivers on the weekend but finally came across Curt’s Towing and they were there in less then 30 minutes. Chris handled the towing with great professionalism and made a good impression on a bad day.
Charge was 200. When legal advice says 150+20/day. Was late by 3 hrs I get it. But rudeness on the phone was unneeded. Overcharged..bad phone rep. Just poop
Curt’s towing is a most despicable place, very dishonest, they will not lift a finger to help you or work with you..if you can go somewhere else. I have never seen a tow service as horrible as this place and I can’t believe how dishonest they are. They will cheat you every way possible. All these negative reviews against one company. People need to turn them in and make complaints everywhere you can. It’s a shame they get away with cheating people as much as they do.
These people are awful. A family friend passed and we were trying to retrieve their vehicle. The lady who answers the phone hung up on me and my father multiple times. Rudest person I’ve ever interacted with. She talked over me when I was trying to ask questions and demanded I be quiet so she could talk. They wouldn’t give us any info about the vehicle, even after we arrived, until we forked over a large chunk of cash. I understood why they wouldn’t give a ton of info on the phone since they couldn’t prove who they were talking to, but for goodness sake, we just wanted to verify that the vehicle had a key with it. Turns out the vehicle was not drivable, so we ended up paying them to tow it out of the lot. They even said if the battery was dead, they’d have to tow it out because insurance wouldn’t allow them to have anyone else on the property. Lo and behold, the tire was off and amazingly, they suddenly allowed one of us to go look at it on the lot, since we had given them their money already. What a racket. I get that they have to deal with some people who are not trustworthy, but they could be kinder. Pay up the cash and then they will tell you that your car is not drivable. I hope I never have to deal with them again. The tow truck driver was decent. The lady in the office was okay, but clearly she was just following rules, hence not telling us anything until we paid.
Per all of the other 1 star reviews, I had a very similar experience with the woman who answers the phones. One of the most vial humans I have ever come across. She should be fired immediately for the way she seemingly treats all of the customers she comes across.
Our daughter was in a wreck and we hired Curt’s to get her car. In the midst of a LOT of panic and moving parts Curt’s was such a blessing!!! As we headed to the hospital with our daughter Curt’s handles the car and got it back to the tow yard and kept it safe!!! We had an awesome experience and loved how great they were with communication and handling our car and keeping it safe in storage!!! We will use Curt’s whenever we need a tow!!!
Christiana has the worst customer service there is. She is the lady who answers the phone & Acts like she is so bothered. All i did was want clarification on the address and she cursed at me multiple times. I would not recommend this place at all! She treated me with the nothing but disrespect.
If I could give this business a negative 10 stars, I would. Christina, the individual who answers the phone, is about the rudest person I have ever encountered. The saddest part is that her behavior is completely unprovoked and absolutely unwarranted. Don't believe anything that she tells you. She told us that we would have to show up to the tow yard to find out how much the towing cost would be for our vehicle, which made absolutely zero sense for a cash business. Thankfully we brought enough money and did not have to go to a teller machine. Once we arrived, we were told by the very nice older lady that she would have to call Christina to find out the towing fee, so she did. Like I said, you can't trust what this woman says. Once we paid the fee, it took us 10 minutes of backing up and pulling forward in all directions to get the vehicle out from behind another vehicle that they parked in front of ours. After reading all the negative reviews on Yelp and Google, I am shocked that this place is still in business.
This small company has a very nasty attitude. This is the ONLY Towing company that don't even give u information of a car if is in there place. How you going to tell someone that the towing is close on weekends but still drive there. Very useless lady with zero customer service. I deal with other towing companies with better help and customer service.
This towing company is hands down the best in the business!!! I've known Curt for some years now and him and his team have always been prompt and steady in what they are so good at doing. And I wanted to thank him and his team for coming through on a little project we worked on this morning. And for many more in the future I know I can depend on Curt's Towing and Recovery to get the job done right!! Thank you guys!!
I had a wreck that was not my fault and my truck was totaled and towed by these folks. The very next day they informed me that it would be $400 to get my own stuff out of the vehicle. I decided to wait for the police report in hopes that the at fault party would pay the tow bill. 6 days later Banks county sees fit to release the report and by how the truck will cost $700. After a person loses everything they had these blood suckers come at you. Ridiculous sad excuse for this CUNTry and should freaking be illegal!!
I was in a near fatal single car accident in the early morning hours of November 9, 2023.
This was one of the most traumatic experiences of my life.
Later that day, I needed to try to recover some personal belongings from my Lexus GS350, which was totaled and mangled in one of this company’s lots.
When I called the number to try to access the car, I can only say that I am 57 years old, and I have never experienced the sheer rudeness and callousness of the woman who answered the phone and over the next two hours, did her best to make it as difficult as possible to gain access to my vehicle.
If you have a choice, I recommend avoiding this company at all costs.
Dispatch lady was unprofessional and rude as hell for no reason. I’ve never in my life dealt with someone so rude for no reason. If you don’t like your job hunny get a knew one. Learn to respect your customers and you’d have more than four cars in your tow yard!
I spoke with Curt personally about towing one of our trucks. He told me he would head our way and even called my mechanic with an ETA and said he was enroute. He never called back and never showed up. When I called him today he acted like he didn’t know what I was talking about. I am not the one to leave negative reviews but this put us in a bad situation and all he could do was stutter and hurry off the phone when I called him and asked what happened. Don’t waste your time with this guy. Luckily we got someone else to come out before our truck sank further in the mud and risked tipping over.
Very confused on why this place is under 5 stars. My gf crashed her car and no other service was willing to help me due to the fact it was Sunday. I called Curts and a Cristina helped me with almost everything, made sure we got everything out of the car and even gave us some advice on what steps to take next. Mr. Joe came to the rescue in a matter of 15 minutes, loaded the car up and explained the process in detail double checking making sure we got what we need. I will be calling again for future reference and will stay a committed customer. THANK YOU CURTS!!
Worse towing company I’ve ever had to take my car out. Super rude. We were very nice to the lady and she was plain rude. Car got in a accident and she didn’t let us SEE my own car unless i payed even with all proof that it’s my car. She was walking her dog while on the job and told us to not look at her dog while it was using the restroom when all we were trying to do was ask her a question. If you don’t want any complications don’t go here.
Myki came out very quickly and towed my car to the shop for my family of 4. We had a blow out on a Sunday afternoon on the interstate with kids. It was scary but my son said it was the best day ever for him especially since he rode in the tow truck. He was amazing and I would recommend this company to anyone, ask for Myki if you want someone trustworthy and kind to ease your stress.
Unfortunately I had the misfortune of my car (driven by my Son) towed. He was parked illegal in the road way. Anyways I was told the car was towed by Curt's Towing. And again unfortunately I am not familiar with the area I am from Gwinnett . So I was worried, and already upset at the circumstances. Fortunately I was towed by a Professional Towing company with excellent service and customer service. Shout out to Christina who was not only understanding but the upmost professional when answering my many questions and getting me to their lot with ease and comfort. While there I met the Owner who was outstanding and a true professional. If you need a tow company in the area of Commerce & Maysville, GA area I strongly recommend using this Company, they are the definition of Professional.
They really helped me out last night. After another tow company picked my truck up then called me 4 hours later and said he made it 6 miles and my truck was too heavy then dropped my rig in a random store parking lot and wouldn't return my calls. Curts got to the truck very quickly and really helped me out. The driver Fred knew what he was doing and is good at his job I would highly recommend Curts and will be using them again in the future.
Professional? Hardly. The female in control of the in coming calls, seriously needs to get some help in her ability to deal with customers. Even if on a daily basis, you deal with people who give you attitude, every caller may not deserve yours. First time accident, first time tow for a teenager and you can't even take the time to be cordial. Being the face of your company, maybe you should be more aware that ...Honey attracts more bees than vinegar. Sad day when it takes a man to call to get respect, not from this female, when she saw caller id she passed the phone to the man, Curt. I certainly would not under any circumstances recommend this company at all. When your in an accident, be sure to not allow the towing company to be picked for you. Use one you trust. Finally, in our situation their policy which I understand is not the issue, it is the attitude you receive from what they call customer service.

He was professional, polite and very personable!! He went ABOVE & BEYOND helping me with my car after my accident!! He made sure that it got to shop without any issues what so ever! Definitely the kind of employee that every tow company out there would want to have!! He definitely deserves a RAISE & to be shown appreciation for the job he does!! Thank you Anthony for making this as stress free as possible!!
Anthony is awesome! He was so down to earth and personable yet still very professional! You can tell he is an honest person and not just after your money. I came here to leave a review for him and noticed that almost every other Curts review is for Anthony as well. Give this guy a freakin commission raise! Oh, and Anthony, if they say no to your commission percentage raise, just start your own towing company. You've clearly got the client base already - just read these reviews!
I had issues with my trailer coming through Litchfield area, thank goodness it happened when it did! Curt's towing was awesome! They went on site and fixed trailer and then hauled it back(loaded) to their place to check everything else out too! They were VERY reasonable on price and always answered the phone! Thanks for getting me going again!
