Great customer service and Patrick, the service rep really took care of me. Thoroughly went over my report and gave me estimates of future repairs and needed repairs. Did not try to take advantage of me unlike the dealerships where they base everything off of mileage and what repairs are needed when the vehicle reaches those milestone. Great owner, took time out to take care of me when I came in to check me in. Really clean waiting area with fully stock and free snacks while waiting. This is my second time there and will be taking my car there to get it service from now on rather then the dealership. Plus, Great and competitive pricing.

Jason was very helpful, got me in the same day, the TPS was replaced and the casing was cleaned by the technician. The price of changing the TPS was a bit steep (it does not take 1 hour) but that's what happens when you don't have the right tools to do it yourself :). The Sensor was provided to JAR, so there was no need for diagnostics. Overall, it was a pretty good experience.

I saw that their sign says dealer alternative and I agree that is what this place is. I worked with Patrick to get my Lexus Gx470 some new lower control arms and he was very knowledgeable and could speak to previous repairs on this platform that he had done. I’m very busy and he handled everything for me remotely, including getting me quotes quickly, which was a huge help. I found the pricing fair and he got it done for me within one day so I didn’t need to find alternative transportation for long. I drove about 40 minutes out of my way to go to this shop and I’ll be doing that for all future repairs based on the experience i had today.

I had an awesome experience here! Shad was the person who helped me throughout everything, however all of the staff was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. He took the time to explain to me what was going on with my car, and was very transparent/attentive about everything. I highly recommend checking them out. This will definitely be my go-to repair shop moving forward.

took my 2005 Lexus to get it inspected for any problems, they provided amazing service in a good time and quoted me for future proofing against any damages. service lobby was really clean and everyone is very nice. i recommend patrick and joe both are very chill and knowledgeable!

Great experience overall. I went in for a turbo replacement on my Civic Si, and the price was very fair. Jason, Shad, and the rest of the team were helpful, patient, and kept everything clear throughout the process highly recommend.

UPDATE......I took my newer 2020 Infiniti Q50 3.0t Luxe for rear brake work and all I have to say is SAME great location, same great price, same great service, same customer service and same great people!!!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------- The service I received from JAR @ The Mall of GA for my 2015 Infiniti Q50 3.7v was TOP TIER!!! From scheduling my 60K service over the phone, until the completion of my maintenance...it all was EXCELLENT! This was my 1st time coming to JAR for service, but it will definitely not be the last. Everyone was friendly and hospitalitable, even the car technicians that came from the garage. The place was immaculate, I mean SUPER CLEAN...from the customer waiting area (with complimentary drinks, comfortable seating, a big screen TV), to the restrooms and the garage where they work on the vehicles...CLEANNNN!!! During my maintenance the advisor came out and discussed what the technician found and suggested next scheduled maintenance item(s)...no up-selling, no hassle. And I received a free Carfax account as a courtesy for being a JAR customer, for life as long as I own this car...a complete and appreciated surprise. I was driving over 800 miles round trip to see my Mom for her 72nd birthday and wanted to make sure my car was safe & road ready. I just returned and my Fini drove like a dream! I appreciate the peace of mind given to me by JAR...knowing my vehicle was safe to drive such a long distance. With the OUTSTANDING service provided to me & my vehicle by JAR, they have earned a customer for life!!!

I won’t be coming back! After charging me for fixing my Evap problem, within 7 days the engine light came back on. They didn’t return the wheel lock lug to its place in my car so when I tried to change my tire I couldn’t get the wheel off the car. They told me I needed a brake job when that was not true. I found a good Honda dealership that fixed my Evap problem and said I didn’t need a brake job for another 10,000 miles. JAR is a rip off !

The service at this location is great! They have gotten me on the schedule in a timely manner for routine maintenance and when I've had to walk on for more urgent service. I got a text today asking me how my car is running (a few weeks after routine service) and thought that kind of follow up deserves ? ? ? ? ?

I really wanted to like this place. Easy appointment scheduling. Terrific location… right across from the mall; no shuttle needed. Clean waiting room. But 3 hours and 45 minutes for an oil change, cabin filter and tire rotation is unacceptable. Who has that much time for a basic service? Especially with an appointment.

Japanese Auto Repair sets the standard for the industry. From the excellent front office staff to the technicians who analyze and repair your vehicle, everyone is the best I have seen. They communicate with you about your vehicle in a way that helps you totally understand the options available to you. And I would be remiss if I didn't mention the finest and friendliest waiting room that I have ever experienced.

This was the first time I used JAR. Been commited to another service provider for 20+ years but due to circumstances, needed to get something done fast and gave them a try. What a wonderful experience. Clean and friendly environment. Super friendly, knowledgeable and professional staff. My usual guy may be out of luck going forward.

I had an excellent experience with Japanese Auto Repair of Buford! They replaced the headlight assembly on my Acura RDX quickly and professionally. From start to finish, the service was top-notch—friendly staff, fair pricing, and great communication. The work was done on time, and my car looks brand new again. It’s rare to find an honest, dependable shop these days, but this team truly delivers. Highly recommend them for any auto repair needs!

Edit following owners response: The owner seems to imply that I had only asked for an oil change and a tire rotation. In fact, I had also discussed and was quoted for routine maintenance, and indeed my receipt states “check all fluid levels”. However, I highly doubt that they actually checked all fluid levels, namely the steering fluid. Original review: Over $100 for an oil change and a routine car maintenance inspection seems pricey, but I thought ok, the service seemed good. Turns out they didn't even check the basics, totally failed to inform me that the steering fluid was low. What was that $100 for then?

I had the 120K service done to my Lexus Rx. Jason and Patrick handled me with platinum service. The performance of my car is running in tip top shape. I have been a JAR customer for years. Definitely recommended.

I recently took my car to the Japanese Automotive Repair (JAR) shop in Buford for strut and axle replacements. I was not familiar with the shop so I was hesitant to try them. Upon entry into the building I was very pleasantly surprised with the environment. The waiting room was very clean and comfortable with visibility to the shop floor which was also immaculate. I received a very professional reception with clear expectations on the time and cost required to repair my car. I appreciated the follow up and courtesy from my service advisor through the time required to complete repairs on my car. I would definitely take my car back for future repairs and recommend JAR to anyone considering an alternative to the dealership.

I had a problem with my car with a broken spark plug. Most places will run from the harder work like that, but it's so important to have shops willing to tackle the real work and not just the basic stuff. They came through for me and the pricing was very fair and was under what I was predicting by about 25%. They did not try to throw any add on work to the transaction. My father found them and felt confident suggesting them to me. I feel like I've found my new local trusted mechanic and will be making sure I get both my routine and real mechanic work done here for the foreseeable future. I'm very satisfied. Don't try to haggle, the quality and experience exceeds the price here.

I got an appointment very quickly. The receptionist and service attendant were very professional and attentive. The Buford JAR was very clean and bright with a well-lit waiting area that was extremely comfortable and appointed with water and soft drinks and coffee. The work needed on my car was communicated to me very clearly and honestly. I believe the price to be very reasonable. I have used the Suwanee location in the past, and now the Buford location several times and would definitely recommend them.

When I was younger, I had to learn to work on my own vehicles due to my encounters with some shady shops and mechanics. I wish there had been a "Japanese Auto Repair" back then, where I lived. These guys are honest, up front, and professional. Their customer waiting area is clean. They offer coffee, tea, water, and drinks as we wait. The shop is clean, the building is very well maintained. They also have coupons for discounts on oil changes and other services. I'm told some are mailed out and there is one in the magazine, Flavor. I feel like part of a family with the staff at Japanese Auto Repair in Buford. They seem to always be busy. Appointments are recommended, but walk-ins are welcomed. Doesn't matter who you ask for, you will be taken care of.

What an amazing experience at Japanese Auto Repair! Shad, Anna and Gayle were all so wonderful to work with because they really speak to you like someone they’ve known for a long time. They seem to have perfected customer service! As for the service done on my son car, they were exceptional. I honestly thought they might have found a major issue because my car was sputtering along with the check engine light coming on. It turns out it was the PCV hose that was disconnected. They could easily said it was something else but this just showed me just how honest they are. Both of my sons drive Infiniti, so going forward any repair work to their cars will certainly be done there. If you want to work with honest a service provider and get good quality service for your Infiniti then go here. Plus, the shop is very clean with a beautiful waiting area and free beverages!!

Japanese Auto Repair is a good place to take your car to get the service it needs. They try to get the car back to you ASAP. The only complaint I have is their online appointment system. It's not very reliable. I went to the shop to get my oil changed and they had no record of my request. I was waiting for a confirmation email for two days and never received one. They should remove this feature if it doesn't work correctly or get it fixed.

My first and second visit to change oil! The waiting lounge is cozy, accommodating, and warm! The master and engineer were all kind and good mannered! Though the shop was full of cars that were getting service and so I had to wait a couple of hours until work was done, still the time was worth it, plus, I got some discounted service from the master which was an unexpected pleasure! Hope to visit regularly for oil change and any other maintenances!

It was the first time I came here to change the oil of my car. The super large and spacious indoor repair shop and the clean and tidy waiting area all attracted me deeply. Drinks, coffee and snacks are also provided free of charge during the waiting time! Heartwarming experience! The staff are patient, they are professional, and the price is reasonable!
