Your response does not address the substance of my concern. My financial institution did not call the police without cause, nor did they erroneously tell me I had no funds. I was treated unfairly, and your response reflects on your character and integrity. Admitting a mistake might be a humble and appropriate step.
Yes, I acknowledge that the card declined after services were rendered. I also stated that I was trying to resolve the situation and that I would allow you to tow the vehicle if necessary. So why assume the charges would be disputed and involve the police? In a previous review, you stated that you strive to treat customers as you would your own family. Is that truly how you would want your mother to be treated?
I previously used Lloyds and had a decent experience, which is why I called them again when my vehicle got stuck at a local lake. This time was completely different and very disappointing.
First, the price was far higher than the typical winch-out service in this area. I was charged well above the normal range.
When I provided my card, it declined twice. I calmly explained I wasn’t sure why and asked to go to an ATM for cash. Instead of being professional, the driver made a rude comment implying I had no money in my account. That was completely inappropriate and untrue.
I offered multiple solutions, including leaving my fiancé there while I got cash. The driver refused and said he had to be paid immediately or he would tow the car for another $100. We agreed he could take it if we couldn’t arrange payment. A friend ultimately paid over the phone.
Then, as we were leaving, the driver came to my car, requested my license, and took photos of it and my plate “in case the charge was disputed,” implying we weren’t trustworthy. Shortly after, police arrived — the driver had called them.
I later discovered my bank declined the transaction due to a fraud alert because the card was manually keyed in. The issue was bank security, not lack of funds.
I understand companies need payment, but there is no excuse for rude assumptions, intimidation, or calling the police on a paying customer who was actively trying to resolve the situation.
Overcharging is one thing. Disrespecting customers is another. Experiencing both at once is unacceptable. I will not use Lloyds again.
Amazing tow truck driver (I didn't get his name 🤦♀️) professional, kind, and incredibly patient. He went out of his way to make my kids feel comfortable during a stressful situation, which meant so much to us. Truly appreciate his care and professionalism. Highly recommend!
I had a semi trailer come loose from truck it was basically empty did not have to tow the truck trailer 5 miles back to their yard trailer was in the turning lane no issues getting to it they charged 1500 dollars 53 foot dry van this was horrible I have had semi trucks hauled 150 miles from Lexington Virginia to Liberty NC for 1200 they abused me for my situation if any of my ten truck drivers ever call them I will fire them on the spot no respect 5 miles equals 300 per mile if the charged 200 per hour it would never had been anything like that crooks
I was stranded in Rome while traveling alone last week. It was after 5 pm and my car wouldn't start after leaving McDonalds. Loyd's shop was right across the street but was closed. Tony was already in his truck and going home, but he saw me and offered to help. My angel on earth! It turned out to be the starter that they replaced first thing the next morning. Tony arranged the wrecker but didn't stop there. He made sure I was safely checked in a hotel for the night and wouldn't take a dime from this old lady. My van broke down on me right in the middle of a major intersection in Rome late Wednesday afternoon. After a cop helped me get safely into a nearby parking lot, I contacted Lloyds to have it towed. They were there within 20 minutes!! My van ended up needing a new alternator. They had it repaired and ready for me to pick up by 9:15 the following morning. Thank you, Ken, for taking such great care of me. Hope to never experience it again, but if I do Lloyds will be who I call! Highly recommend!
I use no other in the area. Tony (with his incredible eyes and smile) came to tow my car today, but ended up fixing it for me instead. Saved me some money, time, and frustration. I've used Loyd's multiple times over the past 10 years. Thank you guys! Thank you, Tony! 🌻

Their tow truck was exactly what was needed for towing a Prius hybrid. The gentleman was extremely helpful and worked hard not to cause any damage to the vehicle.

I have had previous experiences with this company that were positive which I why I called again. Unfortunately the person who towed my vehicle today seemed to be inexperienced, and seemed inconvenienced of my need for the vehicle to be towed. I had to pull the car out of the driveway to line up with the tow truck just so he could get it on the back of the truck. Once he loaded the car, he jumped in the cab and drove off and never even acknowledged me. Leaving me to wonder if I should follow him, or just leave or how I would pay the bill.

Loyds was amazing. My car wouldn’t start on Saturday and was towed here. I was nervous as I am new to Rome. The staff was kind and the fix was pretty affordable for my issue. They even washed my car since it was a bit dirty from the birds. Something they didn’t have to do but did anyways.
Glad to know I can trust Loyds should an issue arise in the future!! Thank you to the staff there for treating me fairly and just being so kind.
They towed my car after my wreck on Shorter Ave back in January 2022, and the driver gave me a ride home. A few weeks later, I needed pics of my car as requested by my lawyer. I walked from my home in South Rome to their main office and I must have interrupted their conversation because they seemed quite annoyed at me for walking through the door. Can't say I expected decent customer service from a towyard, so I went ahead and explained what I was there for and after staring at a computer screen for 10 whole minutes I was informed my car was at their yard in East Rome, a mile up the road. I asked if I could be given a ride there since I had no car and was walking. They said no, and to call them when I got there and someone would come open the gate for me. It floored me because it wouldn't have costed them a dime to let me ride up the road. But since they couldn't be bothered to stop what they were doing and take me or let me wait there until they had a free moment, I walked up the road. Clearly they decided to take even the tiniest bit of advantage of the fact they had my car and it's not like taking my business to another towyard was a viable option at that point. I got my pics, walked home, done. A few months later my lawyer needed the salvage title or some kind of documentation of what they did with my car... They were totally uncooperative and were unable to provide those documents for whatever reason and thus costed me $2k out of my settlement. Spiteful? Incompetent? I don't know but out of all the sorry towyards I've had to deal with, these guys top the list.
WARNING AVOID THIS COMPANY! YOU WILL LOSE MONEY! My husband’s 18 wheeler just broke down a mile away from the mechanics…an oil leak. This company, Lloyd’s Towing in Rome, GA charged him $750 to tow him a mile. The messed up part w is that the tow guy that came out took an hour to hook his truck up and then charged my husband and extra $50 for sprinkling some oil leak solution, when my husband offered him to use what he has in his truck.
I was very impressed with how quickly they picked up my vehicle on a weekend and late in the evening. I also wasn't sure where to have it towed because I didn't know of any shops in the area so they told me that they have a shop and could tow it there and look at it and add the tow bill to the work they would do for me if I had them do it. Now they were a bit pricey on the shop side but fair on their pricing on the tow side.
It was an awesome experience. Called, they were here within 15 minutes and the driver was very very professional. My car was taken to the dealership in great timing that they were able to have it checked and repaired by the next day. I will use them from now on
This is the place Good Neighbor Ministries sends you to get propane filled when they give you a voucher. The lady that runs the front is rude. It's so uncalled for. All people are not the same, everyone has struggled. If you haven't then God bless you. Just because someone walks in down on their luck and needing some propane that's costing her nothing personally.(Good Neighbors is paying for it.) OR even if it had nothing to do with propane at all. There's no reason to be rude or snappy.
Smile it goes further and it will make your soul feel better.😊
The guys that actually come out a fill the tanks. They at least smile, sometimes only a half on but it's there. 😊
My son's water pump was being replaced and number 4 cylinder o ring, when car was ready to be picked up we drove straight home with the complaint that it was making a real loud racket and shifted hard in reverse, took to our regular mechanic and he said bolts were left off in a lot of places and a couple was loose, on the lower control arm the bolt was almost all the way off and the struts were busted. It also had 2 broke motor mounts. Someone told me not to use them because they will damage your car just to get you to use them to fix it or they will say stuff was wrong with your car when it isn't! I should've listened but was stuck on the side of the road at night when i couldn't get a tow elsewhere. BEWARE
My semi had mechanical issues 60 miles south of Rome ga . I called for tow. Within 2 hrs we were pulling off with my truck n tow.Price was fair. Driver was very knowledgeable. Tow truck was clean and comfortable.
I used this company for roadside assistance through my insurance company. The driver promptly arrived within 25 minutes of me calling my insurance. He was very polite and professional. Even though I had to pay some out of pocket due to being so far from my house, it was very affordable. I would highly recommend this business to anyone.
I had to get my car towed in from summerville. They were very fast and efficient coming to pick us up. They towed it to their shop and started on my car that next morning. I am very pleased with the service and staff and will definitely be back for any other car issues.
Loyd's is the best all around when it comes to taking care of your vehicle, quickness, and professionalism. I have been using them for over 25 years for numerous situations and have never been let down or never felt like I have over paid. I would not do business with anyone else. These are great people and they care.
Very poor experience. My 16yr old had an accident and I asked to use Loyd’s due to them seeming to be a supporter of the Model community. After trying to get someone to look at the vehicle on their yard (with limited hours of access) they sent a letter via registered mail($150 charge) and had drastically inflated charges. Simple towing job cost $810. They conveniently never made an attempt to call to ask us to pick up the car or tell us what the daily storage fee was. Very poorly handled and took advantage of the situation. Would not recommend.
Very quick to attend me when I got there, but it was hard to get through to someone on the weekends even though they say they are available 24/7 , they have someone to answere the phones but not to provide any information needed or even any estimates on how much a car runs each day it is in their service. Having someone that can help through a phone would be so much more appreciative.
My cars never want to break down at home. It's always in town. Loyd's has towed my cars at least 5 times, and I never hesitate to call them. The drivers arrive promptly, are friendly, and have my vehicles loaded up quickly! Loyd's has my business for life!
