Kern’s Truck Parts is awesome! I showed up at 10:30 am inquiring about a 5th wheel and slider bracket. They had one in stock and I was out of there by 5:00 pm. My Holland 5th wheel slider and 5th wheel was removed and replaced with the same setup. Definitely not a job I could have done in half a day. Professional services with very reasonable prices. I would like to warn anyone thinking of purchasing any products such as engines, transmissions, differentials, or anything that is touched by water and or oil from RKTP, THESE ITEMS WILL NOT BE WARRANTIED AS THEY SHOULD BE BY THEM. I purchased an engine from them with the understanding that the engine had been ran tested new rod bearings, main bearings installed and valtrain had been inspected along with the fuel pump. I received the engine installation was complete and upon initial startup, engine had excessive blow-by. The next morning we contacted RKTP to notify them of this issue where the salesman stated to just run the shit out of it, it should clear up. If anyone has any kind of mechanical sense they would understand that blow-by is caused by worn rings. Afterwards the engine had not been ran no more than 150 miles prior to losing oil pressure. RKTP was notified of this issue immediately and I was told that 20 lb of oil pressure was standard for a Cummins ISX 15 L engine once it reached operating temperature. After conducting research Cummins specifications on a warm operating engine at 65 mph 1400 RPMs oil pressure should read between 38 lb to 40 lb of pressure. Obviously someone at RKTP does not know what they are talking about. When contacting them about having the engine warrantied I was told that I needed to come to their facility in which I did just to be told that the engine was needing an overhaul. Per their warranty it states 90 days and purchacer is responsible for parts and a $2,500 deductible for the labor. I do not see that this is the correct way of conducting business. If the engine at initial startup is already demonstrating failure it should be the responsibility of the seller to replace or repair the engine. Consumer rights is being contacted In reference to this situation, due to how it has been handled.
Friendly people but prices are extremely too high. Every time I go I end up not getting anything because of the price.. example: old used blower motor for AC $75. Tried to talk the guy down to maybe $50 but he wouldn’t budge... Called fleet pride right there as I sat in the lobby and they had a brand new one for $85 lol.. same thing with a air dryer. They tried to sale me an air dryer that’s been sitting out in the weather for God knows how long for $250 with a 30 day warranty tried to get them to give me a break he wouldn’t.. called Global right there and they had a brand new one I. Stick with a year warranty for $325.. Kerns probably good for certain stuff like maybe seats or gas tanks maybe but listen to me and always call and check around before buying a used part from these guys cause they don’t care..update: They did it again lol. I went there for a Volvo coolant reservoir. Guy told me $175 used or $250 new after market. I went back to the truck and ordered brand new one from eBay for $80 and it was here in 2 days. lol. They did come thru with an air valve for me one day tho. It was only $35 and I really needed it. So I would say they are perfect for emergencies or maybe older hard to find parts. But I would shop around if the price seems high it probably is.

Went there nervous cos everyone I talked to pryor to talking to Kern Truck Parts. Kept telling me they didn't have the part & don't think anyone would. I broke down in Ft Myers,FL the shop there got me running again but I still needed a part that was on national back log for international trucks. No one around Birmingham or Ft Myers had the part, truck parts guy in Birmingham referred me to Kern truck parts. So I called & went to there location found the part & it is a good part. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
I have been there several times and the staff is always friendly and very helpful. The prices are very low and they normally warranty their parts for 30 days. If you need a part for your truck, check them out first . I got a sleeper air bag leveling valve for $15.00 . International wanted $300.00 for the same valve. I bought a metal heater coolant line for $35.00 International didn't even have one. So yes check them out.
Just got a reman power steering pump at the best price. I saved $1000. I’ve been dealing with Kerns for 25 years and they haven’t failed me. Great people and great customer service.

Iv been fortunate enough to find the parts I need in this place for a decent price. It helps to know the price of an item b4 you arrive. They usually charge about half that price for the part. It's a very busy place. I find the various shops at Kerns to be knowledgeable about the specific parts I'm looking for as well. Often they can share GOOD information about your part if you ask... This place has been a gold mine for my trucking Company, saving us thousand$$$ to date.
This place is a no nonsense and or no bull facility, if u are into bartering, begging, or confuse you are in the wrong place, because the prices are reasonable for the hard working, but if you are into getting the job done for the type of services they provide, they are on point, for trans, rear ends they are the whisperers. they carries numerous new and used parts, i perform numerous engine transplant and custom modification to tractors since 2006 and if it wasn't for richard kerns truck parts i would not be doing this. every time i made the trip i got what i needed for a fair price,

They are the best! I made it there within 5 minutes of closing and I wasn’t turned away or rushed. The guys were amazing. I’ll definitely go there vs Freightliner for certain parts. Prices are very fair & reasonable.
Great prices and helpful and knowledgeable staff! The advice I got for free was worth more than than the price I paid for parts!!! The parts I bought were $500 plus new I got them here for $30 each!
Kerns is were I go for my Semi truck parts when Freightliner prices are too high. Pros: Nice guys, very helpful.
Cons: they guess at half prices of a new part. With that being said know your prices before you go get a used part from here. They are more than fair here. Thanks guys!

We needed an air compressor for our Peterbilt that is on national back order. We couldn’t find it anywhere. Kerns had it in stock! Saved our month! Eric and Mike sent us pics so we could verify the match before driving over to buy! Great customer service!
Excellent work! Chris took in my Peterbilt and diagnosed the issues just off what I told him, then hooked up the computer and it read the same issues. Smart man. I will be returning to get this top notch service. FYI fare charges for repairs too.

Great Service! I can always go there and get what ever I Need done the same day. That's very impressive to me because I am a owner operator and when my Truck is down I don't make any money so yes I will pay for the same day service because it always cheaper then going to the Dealer.

Best service I’ve ever had. Great communication and really professional mechanics who can do any job perfectly, really fast with great quality. It took a day to swap a differential on my Peterbilt 379 got in the shop in the morning and truck was ready before 5PM. They do the whole engine rebuild within a day. Would recommend to anyone who needs any kind of repair on the truck: engine, transmission, differential, electrical etc. 1000 times better than any dealerships. Mike is the coolest service supervisor I’ve ever met. Thank you guys for awesome service.
