This towing company tried to blatantly overcharge me in violation of state law. They demanded $100 for a non-consensual tow, claiming it was an “after hours” fee, even though under Non-Consensual Towing Maximum Rate Tariffs No. 5 the state maximum is clearly $65.
I refused to pay the illegal fee after arriving at the towing company office and came back the next day during normal business hours to avoid the “after hours” excuse. Even then, they still attempted to charge me $100. The owner continued to insist on the higher fee until I specifically pointed out the state law. Only after the woman at the desk intervened and after the police arrived did they finally agree to honor the lawful state rate.
This behavior is atrocious, predatory, and unlawful. If they tried this with me, I can only imagine how many other unsuspecting people have been overcharged without realizing it or without the police there to back them up. This company has no regard for the law or for fairness, and they should not be trusted by anyone.

With all due respect, this was not a “miscommunication.” This was an attempt from you and your company to receive extra money illegally. Both you and your employee insisted I pay $100, despite the fact that the state maximum rate is lower. Your employee even accepted and received $325 at one point, until I realized I did not have my wallet. When I returned during normal business hours to avoid that fee, I was still told I had to pay the same illegal $100. When I cited the law, your response was to demand payment or threaten to call the police, despite the fact that I was not the one acting unlawfully. Therefore, I insisted on the police to be called.
This is not about miscommunication. It is about a business inflating prices in violation of state law. That kind of practice directly harms customers, many of whom rely on their vehicles to work or meet family obligations.
I also want to be clear: I never used my military service to avoid payment. Like any Georgia citizen, I exercised my right to refuse an illegal fee. I only mentioned my active-duty status because I needed my vehicle to report for duty the next day.
Your disregard for the law and for your customers’ rights is deeply concerning, and I stand by my complaint.
I gotta give it Harley at discount auto towing. I broke down on I-95 and I have GM roadside assistance. They had me waiting over 4 hrs in the heat so I called harley and he arrived 10 minutes after I called him and had me at the chevrolet dealership 10 minutes after that and he waited to make sure the truck was fixed and that I didn't need a ride. He was a life saver!
Our experience was incredible. Harley took a stressful day and situation and showed compassion, patience and kindness. Not only was he timely and prompt with communication but he exceeded our expectations. In this particular situation he was helping us coordinate, tow and offload a large delivery. I highly recommend this company. In today's world having someone who is reliable and trustworthy in a tough situation is priceless and Harley was both of those and more. What great service from Discount Auto Towing in St Mary's, Ga. They came to Yulee to tow my camper to Paul Clark Ford. Harley was called from my insurance company & he kept me informed on his arrival time. Loading my motorhome was not an easy job, but he made it happen, safely & securely. I would highly recommend his business. Harley messaged me after he delivered it to the repair shop & sent me photos of where he put it. Also informed/assured me that the keys had been personally turned over to the authorized person. Extremely thorough & professional. I highly recommend.
Fast and fair pricing. Had a car breakdown and initially contacted my insurance but they said we didn’t have towing coverage on that particular vehicle. Insurance said they could get me a discount though, but sounded rather high even with the discount. So called Discount Auto instead and they were $80 cheaper than what my insurance was going to charge me for the tow! Heck yeah! The fact Harley got there so quickly too was even better. Meant I was able to get the broke down one home and swap vehicles in time to still pick up my kids on time.

Harley did a fantastic job towing my 'baby' to storage for me. He was able to accommodate the fact that my car does not run, and the front brakes were stuck; made easy work of it, in fact. Very friendly, smile on his face the whole time, and very personable. He fit me into his schedule quickly, and gave me no trouble when I needed to reschedule due a family pet passing just hours before he was scheduled to pick-up. Highly recommend. Thank you!

Had an amazing experience. A while back we had a not great one but gave them another chance, and we recommend doing the same! my car completely shut down and left us stranded in yulee at 6pm. they came and towed it, and had it fixed and running again the next day. Harley was very helpful, went out of his way to try to help me get the vehicle fixed first, then ended up towing the vehicle back to the Savanna airport for me. Harley was fantastic. We are from Massachusetts and broke down at the rest stop off 95. Harley was there to get us to the shop and even allowed our family a ride there. Zach and the mechanics got us fixed and on the road back home within an hour. (at 4 PM on a Friday!) They were knowledgeable and straightforward. This out of state family is very thankful for for everyone at Discount Towing!
Harley and his crew were angels on earth today. My niece was stranded in Kingsland and feared her car was beyond repair. After waiting 3+ hours for AAA to send a tow truck, my dad googled and thankfully found Discount Towing. Harley had a truck to my niece asap and serviced her car immediately. Not only professional, Harley was immensely kind.
Absolutely 5 star all the way. Zach goes above and beyond. Car battery died and AAA didn’t show for 3 hours, ended up calling discount towing and they sent Zach. He towed us to the auto parts store, stayed with us through the battery change and when the car still wouldn’t start he helped get us running again. Do not hesitate to call discount towing.
This was place to call for an emergency tow in a Saturday Night / Sunday Morning emergency call. On their way they even kept in touch with providing an ETA.
Owner and his wife showed up and are extremely personable, happy people. Made my bad night turn around even by cracking jokes.

I was stranded on the side of the road at 10 pm on a Sunday night. I tried calling around to other tow services that claimed to be open 24 hours but they obviously lied because no one was available. When I called Discount Auto Towing, they answered and were immediately available. Came to the rescue of me and my two daughters within a reasonable time at reasonable price. Dropped my car where I needed in great time. As far as I am concerned, this is the only towing company that backs up their 24 hour claim. The only towing company I trust.
Harley is fantastic! Last night at 11:30 pm we had been waiting for 2.5 hours for Triple A with no communication. Within 10 minutes of calling Harley I received a text letting me know he was on the way and within 30 minutes of the call he had the car on the tow truck. Car was fixed this morning -- best customer service! 10/10
Fast, courteous, and great service. I was unable to ride along with my vehicle but was surprised when I receive a picture showing it was at the destination. Most other companies do not let you know if your car is dropped off so I thought it was pretty great. Highly recommend.
Harley was amazing! He helped me get a vehicle home from Jacksonville within hours of my call (other companies didn't even have a phone number listed, only email) and communicated with me through the whole process. He even offered to help me get some new tires that I very much need when I am ready. I definitely recommend these guys if you want to work with honest and nice people!
Harley was the first to answer at 11 at night. I called two other local companies and they didn't answer. He is the first true 24 hour tow company I've ever experienced. He drove all the way to Florida to help me. He was fast and professional and even fun to talk to. 10/10 would recommend to anyone needing a tow or in a sticky situation.

Towed me off the highway late on new years day, found the part I needed and got it installed all in 36 degree weather. Had me back on the road in a few hours. Really went above and beyond on it! Can't say I enjoyed the experience of an exploding power steering pump, but Harley did his best to get me taken care of. Would recommend to anyone!
