II have a Lincoln LS 2001 since new now at 110,000 mile and recently had a lower control arm ball joint failure of the front end suspension system during a trip and lucky it did not cause any fatalities. Fortunate also that the wheel remained with the car during the episode. Delivered to A1 Auto Care. Very professional service with qualified mechanics. Some replacement parts were difficult to locate but with Dave's many years of experience located the parts necessary for a safe car. In the end replaced driver side upper and lower control arm systems, new wheel and tire, new rotors, lower ball joint of the drivers side as a preventive measure, incorporated necessary eccentric bolts to properly align the front wheels. Went in for an oil change and received some good feedback about my vehicle. They didn’t upsell me on any extra services, but pointed out a couple of things to take care of in the future. They even said I could do them myself. I’ll be back.
A1 is a great place for cars and customers alike. They’re upfront, transparent, and genuinely give you all your options at the fairest price. Furthermore, my total bill came out cheaper than what was initially agreed upon because they went so far as to throw on a coupon without me having to ask. This is a group of no nonsense gentlemen doing honest work.
David and the entire team at A1 are first class. They are honest, very reasonable and do the job right! I send anybody I know there without a second thought.

I found A-1 auto by asking local people about a decent garage. Amazingly half of them couldn't recommend any. Maybe something like, this one is ok But ...That one fair but $$$. While waiting in line at DD's in Hobe sound. I asked some guy in front of me the same question with out hesitant A-1 auto is excellent. Then a lady spoke up said she and her family been using them for years. Need I say more!!!
Came in for a second opinion due to light on dash. Previous shop quoted at $1,500.00. A-1 Auto turned the light off and said “just drive it and let us know if the light comes back on”. I have been dealing with A-1Auto for at least 10 years and find them always courteous, professional and honest. Qualities that are hard to find in this day and age, especially in a car repair shop!
During a move to a new house my vehicle decided it didn't want to start. The team at A1 had me back on the road in a day. This was all the more impressive to me because it was an unscheduled event three days before Christmas. I highly recommend A1 Auto Care.
I was in the body shop industry for many years in N.Y. Many times, I was able to judge the work being performed within a minute of entering the business.
I pulled into the rear of the A-1 facility due to parking being crowded in front with all the customer’s cars. I walked into the service area and then to the front office. The entire facility screamed professionalism. The service people were all experienced and looked as if they had been servicing cars for quite some time.
I have a 2021 Honda Pilot and a 2013 Honda CR-V. I normally get them serviced at Johnson Honda in Stuart, FL.
A neighbor of mine told me about how poorly he was treated at Johnson Honda where he was quoted a price of several thousand dollars. My neighbor explored other auto service facilities, because he did not feel he was getting quality service at an affordable price. He researched and came upon A-1 Auto Service in Hobe Sound and was very pleased with the job A-1 did. He saved thousands of dollars off the quote Johnson Honda offered for what he learned may have been an unnecessary service. He confronted management St. Johnson Honda and was informed that “mistakes happen.”
I just had A-1 replace my strut towers on my CR-V. This is a big job. A-1 quoted me hundreds of dollars less than Johnson Honda. The staff was so professional and offered me rides from their faculty to my home and back.
I asked about the ownership of the shop because I was so impressed with the care A-1 provided. The owners both work at the shop. They are a married couple who have owned the shop for decades and live local to Hobe Sound.
It was a pleasure to have come upon A-1 and will remain a loyal customer for many years to come. They are wonderful. They’ve earned my trust which is so important when dealing with matters that complicated and possibly expensive.

Recently had a repair done at A1 and have nothing but good to say. I was going to another shop for the last few years and something told me to switch to A1 and thankfully I did since defective part was going unseen at the previous shop for some time. David was a great help and kept me informed throughout the whole process, he even saved the damaged parts to show me and explain how it was further damaging my vehicle. A1 has won my business!

Yes, David, everything was taken care of as usual. Thank you. I am appreciative of A 1 Auto and the quality of service you provide to your customers. The manner that you conduct your business is most impressive. I usually wait when I bring the car in for service. Being in the waiting room, one cannot help but overhear some of the conversations as customers call in, customer walk-ins and general business phone conversations. Never once have I heard a negative comment regarding ---a customer, how busy the schedule is, having to wait on hold, numerous phone interruptions and so many things that can make a day more difficult. Every customer is treated with respect, patience and understanding. I have never heard any foul or derogatory language. To me, all the above is amazing! A business you can be most proud of!!

I have a 1962 Austin Healey Sprite that needed a new water pump and new motor mounts. As the mechanic for my own car for the past 37 years, I needed to find a shop that I trusted, because I did not have a lift to do this work. Many friends had recommended A-! Auto and I am glad I took my car there. They did an excellent job and knew what they were doing–– never a doubt. Everyone was so wonderful to work with as if you were dealing with a family member who owned a business. It is so nice to see shops like this still exist.
