Edit after owner responded: The check issued was in fact not associated to the name here in this review so I am confused by you checking any records associated with this name and “confirming” anything was cashed. Again, very fraudulent and misleading business practices. Would NOT recommend as 1 star was very generous. Also, to Shane, the person responding to bad reviews, you need PR training, real bad. 👎🏽 ORIGINAL POST: These people are giving out bad checks, told me they’d be open on Friday. They’re supposed to open at 8:30 and it’s now 9:19 and they have yet to open. Took my copper, gave me a bad check and not even opened today for me to straighten this out. Would give 0 stars.

Started off great, then things quickly went south. Matt was really helpful from the beginning Worked out a price prior to selling… he quoted me a price and was really hesitant about it afterwards I brought in the items I was selling saying that he would be able to accept 5 semi trailers per day to scrap, and then cut me down, My drivers arrived late and yard and decided to wait outside to bring in after opening the following morning, But one of the employees waived him in and said they’ll accept it after hours… then Matt calls me and tells me he can not pay me the original price because it’s becoming too inconvenient for the crew members and offers half the price after they dropped items… really disappointed, and I can’t express the feeling how it was working with the cashier girl savanna.. that was a horrible experience, Very unprofessional and rude.. the other hand Layla was very kind…. I gave the manger and staff lunch money and said buy the office lunch, and they accused me of bribing them, I guess they’re just used to smaller transactions like soda cans and pickup truck loads of backyard steel, This might’ve been too big of a project for them and bit off more then they can chew… if your looking to sell a bags of cans or a few bucks of steel, sure I recommend them, but anything more then $1,000 go to CMC metals

I had recycled about 200 linear feet of aluminum gutters here a few months ago. Just for background, I'm a homeowner, and not a contractor. I had never been here or anywhere else to recycle large amounts of material. I was initially disappointed because I did not get the amount per pound I was told I would get a week earlier over the phone. I also weighed it beforehand and the weight they gave me was about 10-20lbs short. After I got home I called to complain and spoke with the manager there, Shane. Shane was very helpful in explaining several aspects of the business and it helped me to understand each of the discrepancies. First off, the scale is a very large float scale. If you have a truck load of material, you can expect it will be 10-20lbs off. As far as the pricing, there are various grades of material and the cost varies per grade. If you are worried about how much you are going to get for your material, or what the grade is, just stop by the front office and show them what you've got in advance. I do believe they are making an honest effort to give everyone a fair price on the material. The other thing to keep in mind is that the prices of the materials can change multiple times in a week. So you have to check with them on the day you are dropping off the material. All that being said, I felt a lot better about my experience. Shane was gracious enough to take my word on the weight of the material and added a small credit to my account to make up the difference. I appreciate his professionalism in addressing the issue and will definitely go back again in the future.

Well, I took some miscellanous items to them for recycling, surely enough I got ripped off. I have been warned numerous times about this place, but did not listen. Almost 3 bags worth of cans, some random copper, (which never got counted mind you) along with some circuit boards only equalled to about $4.47 cents? I've taken less than that up there in cans alone and received more than that. Has the price of copper dropped recently? No it hasn't, the lady who weighed our items heard some remarks I had made about the long wait, and obviously did not put the items on record, therefore preventing us from being paid for them. Do not go here, this is one of the most incompetent and disorganized run ''so called businesses'' I've ever encountered. Not only are they thieves, they're bitter thieves who steal from you if you piss them off with any unkind remark. On a side note, I never ever planned to return there as I do not recycle often. But as for the corrupt owner attempting to ''ban'' me I can only laugh. Nice try, the truth has still been told and I'm telling people on a daily basis who recycle not to go there. You know very well what you did, and that being said your business is a sham. I am not the only one who had this encounter, so let me guess we are all liars? Some of these reviews were posted weeks-months after mine. By the way, who gives their own business 5 stars? Doesn't that send a wonderful message to all who use google reviews, thats not dishonest at all.

Their hours say close at 4pm. But they do, and shut the gates early. They have several times when Ive gone there. Everytime I've called, I've never had anyone pick up the phone. I can't remember if there was any voicemail or not. Half the time the guys that take my metal are ok. A few times I got a really weird, odd rude guy or 2. I haven't seen the completely rude, lazy, dumb acting ones, anymore the last few times I've been there. Either I'm just lucky not to have to deal with those morons, or they got fired. Given their unprofessional, unhelpful, unfriendly, lazy attitude, they probably got fired. When those couple of guys were jerks to me, I complained to management. I don't care if it is a dirty metal scrap yard, and I'm a woman. I still expect to get decent common courtesy and respect as a person. I still expect basic, decent customer service. I know the company makes money off the metal everyone brings. I know they get More money then the tiny amount of money I get for the small amount of items I bring in occasionally. That said, I'm a customer they make money off of in small amounts, so I should get decent, average customer service. But I get rude customer service from other guys sometimes too. Not just the couple I think might've gotten fired. The owner should stress to the guys out there, n the girls in the office. Rude, and/or lazy attitudes drive away customers. Lost customers = lost profits + bad publicity (word of mouth) = More lost potential customers + more lost potential profits. It's simple. Be nice to customers, whether rich or poor, gender, race, whatever. Happy customers= Happy business bank account. Everyone's money is green, so every customer should be equal, and treated fairly with respect.
