I went in because one of the terminal ends of my car was really oxidized and I couldn’t fix it myself. The person that helped me was really attentive and took care of the issue in less than 10 minutes. Service, efficiency and quality. 100% recommended!

I needed a serious transmission rebuild and they did a great job. I was told that it would take about a week, and they stayed late the night before to get it programmed and make the deadline. That was a huge help since it's my only car to get to and from work. I put 100 miles on the car the day I got it back from them and it worked perfectly. I do most of my own work, but a job like this was way out of my league, so I had to trust them. I wasn't disappointed.
Was having trouble with opening the hood of my car (it's old) for oil change. They took it in right away - even though they were busy -and fixed it for free with a bit of love (Tire plus was 'offering' 450 $ for it). All star is now my mechanic
My husband and I moved from the Midwest to Gainesville while I was in grad school, both with hand-me-down vehicles, and we were so lucky to have found Steve while we lived there. Came in with an issue with a check engine light on a 2018 Hyundai Sonata. Issue was fixed within a day, and was offered affordable solutions to remedy the issue. The manager Steve and everyone here is very nice and approachable and offered a student discount, plus it is right next to campus. Will be recommending to others!
Took in my 2010 Honda Civic this morning to have them check to see if I needed my horn replaced, because it had suddenly stopped working a while ago. I dropped it off and it took not even 2 minutes to check it in. 2 hours later I received a call stating they had fixed my horn, that it was stuck and all they had to do was lubricate it, then they informed me that they weren't going to charge me for it. TOP TIER SERVICE!!! Not to mention, a horn on a 2010 Honda Civic is a pain to access. Will definitely be bringing my car back here for any issues I have. Thank you guys!!!
My experience with All Star was amazing! I called, scheduled an appointment, and brought my car in within a couple days of it acting up. When I arrived the guys were all super polite and understanding!! Special shoutout to George, he was able to give me an estimate just a couple hours after I brought the car in (even though there were a few cars ahead of mine) and then got all the parts for my repair and had it done a couple hours later. Having an automotive service that is quick, easy, and affordable is hard to find!! 10/10 recommend All-Star Automotive!!
So a little good comes out of some strange times. My son's 06 Honda Accord started having a cooling issue. UF parents group recommended this place, very glad I took the advice. Steve was nice to deal with on the phone, he explained that he only likes to work on Toyota, Honda and I think Acura so he'd definitely be able to help. His tech figured out that the only thing wrong was a faulty radiator cap. He put a new one on and filled the system and said he didn't even need to charge us anything, that he doesn't sweat the small stuff. I was shocked, he was more worried about me getting my son some new tires because they were so bald and worried for his safety. From my experience Steve is a class act human being, its just not everyday that a person would be so generous or willing to help and even care about other things. If you have a Honda, Toyota or Acura and need some auto work done, its worth your time to talk to Steve. Ps went same day and got my son some new tires, thanks Steve
One of the most honest and stand-up mechanics I have ever met. This is the first place I'll take my car when anything goes wrong. They specialize in Honda/Acura and Toyota/Lexus, but will do most of your typical maintenance on a variety of brands. They don't do everything, but will always refer you to a reputable and honest place in town when you need something they don't do. I have recommended them to a bunch of other people and I have not heard anything but good things about the experiences others have had.
Easily the best mechanic in town. Had to get my car towed over here - Steve didn't charge me to take a look at the car, found the issue, and had me out and running the next day. Excellent service, great people. Won't use anyone else in Gainesville.
Had a great experience bringing my 2002 Miata here. I was in the area for a month for work and needed to take my car somewhere for a quick oil change and inspection since I had a long drive ahead of me.
Not only was the service amazing (and very reasonably priced), Steve is amazing! We had a great time talking about different cars and Gainesville in general. While this isn’t a Miata-specific shop, I would highly recommend. These guys know what they’re doing. It also helps that one of the guys who works there has his own Mazdaspeed. If I was ever in Gainesville again, I would absolutely bring my car back here.
I purchased a car that needed some motor mounts. Not to mention some other problems that were poorly fixed. All Star Automotive was quick straight forward and too the point. Mounts were replaced and they even tighten and secured some other parts the previous owner had done. Price was reasonable compared to dealers and chain shops. He even noted some other issues that will need repair soon. It's nice to know there are still good auto shops out there. I will be back for sure.
It is nearly impossible to find a decent mechanic these days, let alone a great one, but All-Star Automotive has never once let me or my fiancé down. We had an older car the needed a repair almost twice a month! I am so happy that we had him and his team close by every time we needed him! They have hooked us up more than once and always give us a very fair deal and great customer service. I don’t ever feel like I am being taken advantage of. My fiancé took his car to another repair shop in Orlando, but we wanted a second opinion. Steve told us that the other mechanic was definitely trying to take advantage of us. What would have cost $1200 only cost about $200 with Steve, and the car is running great! The only service he doesn’t provide is tire repair/ replacement. He even recommended going to Discount Tires on 3003 SW 34th street which worked out perfectly! 10/10 service all around. Please give him a call the next time you need a car repair!
I come from a family with a mechanical background and do a lot of mid-level work myself. But with our daughter away at school, it just made sense for her to get her car fixed before riding home. Based on reviews, I told her to go to All-Star Automotive and see how it goes. My dad ran his own repair shop for 45 years and gained a reputation of being fair with integrity.
Steve helped my daughter with her Mazda last week and quickly diagnosed a problem with her front bearing. After a few days, she was on her way with what I thought was a fair price. A few days later, she found additional problems and feared that the other bearing might be going out as well. I told her to take the car back and explain what she is seeing.
It turned out that there was a problem with the repair and they replaced any damaged parts and fixed the problem at no charge. I told my daughter that is exactly how her grandpa would have handled the situation.
I called All-Star late on a Friday, and Steve made space for my car on Monday morning. His mechanics diagnosed my car for free and fixed a minor issue (that was caused by another auto-shop) also free of charge! Great to have the peace of mind that my car is ready for a long road trip and that it was really the other shop that caused my check engine to come on. Great business!
Steve was super nice, so sweet! I went in not knowing what the issue was but I had an idea. He said I just needed oil and to come back in 1 month to double check the oil levels (I went through my most recent oil change pretty fast). Great price, great guy. Definitely going back if needed:)

I cannot recommend All-Star Automotive more highly. Steve was extremely patient with all of my questions and explained everything thoroughly – he even took photos during the repair process so that he could show me exactly what was wrong. He fixed a small issue with my brakes for free, and the prices for an oil change and a window that was stuck down were extremely reasonable as well. Out of all the mechanics I've tried, these guys are definitely the best of the best – highly reliable and trustworthy.
One of the most challenging things about moving to a new area can be something you think little about until your car needs help. Finding a honest mechanic shop isn't easy. I had my car lowered by another shop which left a lot to be desired. After getting quotes from Auto ER for $378 and advance automotive for $243 both for misleading repairs such as a cracked top mount for the suspension assembly, I found this great shop. They got me in early and by the afternoon got a call to come pick up my fixed car at no cost. A simple wheel tightening and a stabilizer bar link tightening was all it needed! Wow, what a honest place I highly recommend going to this shop for peace of mind knowing anything you are charged is legitimate and not a money making scheme. Thanks so much All-Star Automotive I was at my wits end and so frustrated you made my week!
I decided to give it a shot from the the good reviews and they truly delivered. They were quick, honest, and friendly. I brought my car for a noise issue that multiple mechanics had looked at and were never able to fix. Steve and his mechanic took the car for a ride and figured right away. In addition to my concern, they complimentary refilled all the fluids in the car, checked tire pressure and made sure the car was in optimal condition for a cross country drive. Highly recommend All-Star Automotive!
I do not usually write reviews, but my experience at All-Star Automotive was exceptional at the least. I brought my old 2001 Hyundai in for all of my motor mounts to be replaced and an inspection. Steve was kind and honest, which is rare in business in this day and age; especially with auto repair. Not only did Steve's prices beat quotes from local companies such as Auto ER and Tire's Plus, he offers a student discount, which really sweetens the deal.
I don't like spending money to fix my car, same as everyone else, but I will spend it at Steve's location. He even gave me advice for my next car.
Steve is an honest and genuine guy. He, and his technician, quickly diagnosed what was wrong with my car and told me not to do the repair, because the repair would cost more than the value of my car. He could have charged me for the time he spent looking at it but all he asked was that I tip the technician. He saved me alot of time and money where other shops would have easily charged at least a hundred. I'm usually skeptical of glowing reviews, but the reviews are totally right about him and his shop. If you want you car fixed by an honest and diligent mechanic, Steve is your guy. Thanks again Steve.
