Peaceful somewhere you can really ease your mind I saw a dolphin in its natural habitat.

A rare all season dog friendly beach in Delaware. SnickleFritz loved the long walks and sunsets. Beach area is dependent on tides.

Not what I would call a beach. Fishing, yes. 40 feet of sand to sit at. Fun getting there though. Water on the road.

I never knew this place was Herr and I am so glad I was told about it. You wouldn't know about this location unless you are from the Smyrna and surrounding areas lol. It's absolutely beautiful ? the fishing pier is metal which is awesome and just the view is stunning.

Woodland Beach is Delaware Bay Area where Delaware River merged with Atlantic Ocean.

Honestly, I didn't know a place like this is considered 'tourist attraction'. Not that it is bad, but there is nothing but the view of the deep murky water that makes it a randonautica type of place that gives you creepy vibes. Ironically, I visited this place around midnight twice due to finding it a pleasant road trip location. Hopefully, it's more lively during the daytime.

A typical Delaware Bay beach. It's not too terribly crowded and plenty of beach to walk and hunt for sea glass. Found quite a bit during my visit. There's a large fishing pier, but there were too many people, so I didn't use it on this visit. The biting flies are bad this time of year, so I'd recommend wearing pants and bug spray.

First time visiting. Very peaceful and serene. Excellent views minus the bugs, a great place to relax.

Woodland Beach is at the very end of nowhere. Is quiet & peaceful . There is a metal steel pier for fishing out over the Delaware River. Very nice.

It was a very beautiful view of the ocean. There's a pier where you're able to fish. I went during the fall season and the weather was in the 70's. If your in the area and need to relax, reset and recoup go visit this beach and enjoy the view.

Woodland Beach is a little development with a quaint beach and a fishing pier that stretches out into the Delaware River. It's a perfect spot for a quiet escape, whether you're looking to relax by the water or try your luck fishing. The beach itself is small but serene, offering a peaceful atmosphere that's ideal for unwinding. The fishing pier is a highlight, extending into the river and providing a great vantage point for casting a line or simply enjoying the view. However, be warned that during the hot months from June to September, the strawberry flies can be quite a nuisance and might feel like they could carry you away. It's something to keep in mind when planning your visit. While it may not have the amenities of larger beach destinations, Woodland Beach's simplicity is part of its charm. It's a great place for a day trip if you appreciate nature and a laid-back environment. Just remember to bring your own supplies, as the area is quite minimalistic with no shops or services.

This is the best little family spot! Great for sea glass and full bottle hunting. Such a historical place. Have to keep an eye on the tide though because this cute little beach will disappear. And beautiful pier with nice sunsets!

It’s not really a beach and requires on a road surrounded by marshes with unpleasant smell and is really secluded. Good thing is that it has a big parking lot and was not crowded on Saturday evening. Was happy to spend some time there but felt like it wasn’t worth the drive.

Beautiful beach!! It's a great place for a beachcomber. I visited in Feb 2024, and it was so quiet and peaceful. Big parking lot with easy access to the beach.

The tides are noticeable reclaiming or taking the beach. Every visit you see something new. It's sad to see the debris left by prior generations, buried by dirt, slowly being uncovered by the erosion. Still a favorite place to visit when not fly season.

Very secluded ⛱️ Beach. Nice trails to walk on .. was absolutely mortified when I saw a man walking his dog and allowing him to poop on the sand and instead of picking it up just dug a hole in the sand and covered it up.. ? ? Bathroom pottys were DISGUSTING AND DIRTY???

It was okay. Not much of a “beach”, but the doggo loved exploring everything left behind. The small beach itself is actually a mixture of sand and mud with rocks. The pier is cool to see the water and/or fish. Didn’t spend much time there…less than an hour.

I love this place to watch the sunrise. Take a walk. Sit by the water, people watch, fish, write in my journal, or just relax and watch the wave hit the shore. This is not full entertainment it's natural and in full nature. There is a walking path . Plenty of parking . This picture was taken midday on a Wednesday.

We always love visiting Woodland to just walk the beach and find sea glass. With the weather warming up, its lovely. Always check the tide, you're going to want low tide or you lose a lot of the beach for walking as well as some of the roads pool water In high tide. Favorite place for the dog to get some beach time in.

Took my sister's dog to swim here. Not crowded at all. Beach area was small and part of the area had "no trespassing" signs posted. There was a nice fishing pier which seemed to be the popular spot. Saw large ships passing through. There was outhouses for public use. No snack area.

If your plan is to visit a beach where there is very less crowd and 40 minutes drive from Newark Delaware then this is the perfect place. Please take note there is no sand or place to walk across the shore. There are few rocks and ramp which is only for fishing. Ample of parking slots are available. Try to take the road 9 south (toll free) which is awesome. Perfect place to drive if you have have half a day on a weekend to go somewhere. Have added few pics you can have a look and then take a decision

Took my dogs to a beach for the first time...the tide was high so not much sand but they still had a great time sniffing around. There was quite a bit of hazardous litter though, such as glass and used sanitary items. Other than that it is a great place for fishing with a great quality peir.

Has a really good dock nice pier for fishing The boat dock could be a lot better. It gets a bit muddy coming into the parking lot if it’s rained the day before. The view is really nice

No beach. We went when it was high tide and the roads were crazy covered in water. Neat place, I bet during low tide. Very clean. Porter pots were clean too. The metal board walk was beat with people fishing.

Today was a good day at Woodland Beach in DE. My portable fan did a great job keeping the bugs away, and the water was nice, warm, and refreshing!

The pier is the main attraction here. There are lots of fisherman on there usually. The "beach" section is abt 20 ft of shore and there's some concrete pylons people hang out on. There were a crazy amount of bugs in the grass here. Overall it was a really cool community and the pier was super nice ?.

Lived in Delaware for 50 years and never knew about this place. The wife and I rode the motorcycle here along the very nice route 9. The area has a small beach and a nice pier to walk out on. There are beautiful views of the water and surrounding area. There were horseshoe crabs on the beach and rocks, so that was neat, and a number of osprey and other birds. Overall a really nice place to ride to and explore for a few hours.
