They gave me the wrong part the last three times I went there. The last time I was stranded. Stuck. With no vehicle. I live two miles away, when I asked if they could possibly deliver, I was told only to a shop. Not to someone two miles away who was stranded because of THEIR third mistake in a row. Sorry that happened. Nothing they could do. I’ll never go to advance again.
I visited the Smyrna location recently to get a scan because my car had the check engine light came on. Jacob assisted me. He was awesome! He was very friendly and knowledgeable. The spark plugs that were needed were unavailable because the car was a newer vehicle and the dealers tend to hold on to the parts until after the cars are out for a while. Jacob didn't stop there. He asked team members (who were also great) for suggestions. I took their advice. I've visited this store multiple times and have always received great service and have always gotten what I needed.
Jay is the man, went above and beyond. Solid advice for an old vehicle I recently acquired, didn't make anything off it just gave me sound advice and good vibes... JAY DESERVES A RAISE!!!!
Went in for some wipers. The young gentlman working the counter was everything you could ask for. I forget his name, but he owns the Chevy truck... thank you for your professionalism and service.
Looked up light bulbs for the car, a 2017 Ford police interceptor sedan, they sold me the wrong one, I am now home from the trip 4 hours away 2 states away and no other advance will refund the money for them(70 to 80 dollars for them). I would avoid them
Ordered some coils and one ended up being the wrong one. Took it in they were able to pull up my receipt and change it out. I was grateful for the attention since I couldn't drive my car without putting in the 5th coil. Didn't have to wait long. Thanks guys great job 👍👏
I ordered a part over the phone. When an issue arose, they called me proactively to let me know instead of waiting until I got there. Erin helped me out with a battery and she was super helpful. Nice to go somewhere that has people that care working there.
Had the air filter for my subaru and installed it myself.You go to a dealership and you hear the sound of a vacuum cleaner taking money out your pockets. I digress.
Not gonna lie I have been using advance auto parts in smyrna for many many years and as a mechanic that has worked at a few shops. The commercial accounts guy ED is very helpful and always goes the extra step to get us the parts fast and at a great price and also always helps us get hard to find parts again at a great price. And always is super friendly and as far as a parts guy he really is the best one I have dealt with again and again he shows shop owners that may have used NAPA or autozone always he always shows why Advance Auto is the place to go to. I have personally spent $$$$$ hundreds of thousands of dollars there and it's for a good reason. No not that much fixing personal cars but customers cars. Lol. Just wanted to clear that up.
Very friendly people I was turned on to them through mechanics that I know. That own garages in business for 20 plus years and they love their service. The one on Kirkwood highway is the one I deal with very good people. In and out any questions you have they answer them. While you're there check out the Wawa and the Chick-fil-A. I didn't know if I needed a battery or new alternator. The young man behind the counter tested my car out in the freezing cold determined it was the battery. They had the battery I needed it stop and I was able to replace it right there on the spot.
We had great customer service thanks too Dutch. He was very knowledgeable and gave amazing information and explained just what we needed (best customer service I've ever had going there)
4 people behind the counter. No other customers in store. Took between 5 and 19 minutes to check out. While on line one of the clerks, the guy with the beard walked right past me with my hands full went outside and lit up a cigarette. Was told he was in lunch.
I started coming to Advance Auto years ago when I found them to be a bit more convenient that Autozone across the way. They either have what I want in stock or if not they can order it overnight. Can't say I had any super positive or super negative experiences with this store. It's just a normal store you go and get what you want then leave. That being said so long as they carry what I need and have decent prices I'm satisfied.
Clean store, lay out is odd, seems to have motor oil everywhere, was hard to locate the coolant. Had to ask, and it was a very small amount compared to motor oil and car "accessories"
Advance Auto is one of the better auto parts stores on Smyrna. Most of the guys/girls actually know a little bit about cars not just how to use a computers.
They carry the same thing as pretty much any other box auto parts store I think what sets them apart is the staff who are much more personable. Depending on the item you're shopping for I would definitely shop around but I find for the most part on average they are cheaper if not the same price as the others.
