It's a refuse transfer station for dumping garbage, recyclables, electronics, mattresses, appliances, construction debris and more for Southbury residents only.

Good, but traffic flow around recycling could be improved. The attendants are always friendly and helpful.

If you live in southbury this is the place to go, friendly helpful staff, ease of access etc

Layout with recycling area could use someone to direct rather than having all up top near the garbage drop.

The Transfer Station aka the dump is well run. There are several options for getting rid of your "stuff" Free electronic and paint recycling. Single stream recycling bin for just about anything except for plastics. Sliding fee scale for larger things. Be sure to bring your cellphone and have your insurance card handy. Got backed into twice in the last few months - I have a full size truck - in broad daylight by senior citizens. If at all possible avoid Saturdays as it tends to be busy.

The Southbury transfer station is a very efficient operation and it's workers are friendly and helpful. It would be great if the front roadside of the station would be landscaped. Any degree of landscaping would be a great improvement. Even the appearance of transfer station has a reflection on a town.

As far a transfer stations go this one is top shelf. Easy in, easy out and an all around great place to connect with your neighbors. All these guys need to do is start serving coffee and donuts and I'd go ever day instead of the usual once per week.
