Parsell's has been and continues to be an excellent business run by excellent and honest people. I trust them completely when they service my car. I highly recommend them.

Awesome staff and service!! My husband and I had a faulty battery while we stopped at convenience store. A kind man helped us start the car and told us to go 1 mile to Parsell's Auto and have a mechanic give an opinion. We drove there and half hour later we had a new battery installed and well wishes for our trip south!! Thank you Parsell's, and thanks to the kind stranger!

Great place to get your car serviced, the prices are reasonable and they are exceptional in what they do. Thank you Parsell’s Auto Service for always providing help when we need it.

So thankful I went here! After my rear windshield wiper had gotten damaged, I first went to a different mechanic who wanted to charge me $165 and take half a day just to assess it. So then I tried Parsell’s, who took one look and said, “Give me 10 seconds.” Literally 10 seconds later, he had fixed the issue. And within another two minutes, he had replaced my wiper blade. Total cost $13. Thank you for such honest, compassionate service!

EVERYONE at this shop went out of their way to be helpful to us when we developed a tire problem during a long road trip. Phenomenally fast at diagnosing, addressing the issue with 2 replacement tires along with a rotation of the remaining tires . They got us back on the road really quickly for a fraction of what we expected to pay. Excellent business!

That was incredibly fast service! Despite getting a flat tire a mile away, I managed to drive to the shop and get back on the road in just 30 minutes. Amazing!

Thanks to Parsell’s for squeaking my Explorer in on what was a very busy Thursday for them, for a slow tire leak I’ve been battling. They replaced the valve stem and fixed the leak and I was in and out in 25 min.

I have had work done at this business in the past and have been satisfied however a recent experience has left me frustrated and with the impression I will not use their business again. My mother took her car the beginning of June with the complaint that her air conditioning was not working. Her car was diagnosed and she was told what the issue was. She was informed of the app. price and that the part would be ordered. She called numerous times to follow up on the whereabouts of the part only to be told it was not in yet. She called again today (7/15/24) only to be told that the part was never ordered and that they couldn’t even fully recall what the issue was and what part she needed. She was informed she could bring her car down again today, despite that fact that we had documentation of the issue, to again have it diagnosed (although the person that I spoke to did remember it was a tough job). This 88 year old woman has been driving a vehicle without a.c. as she wanted to do business with and support a local business in Southbury. A phone call to the dealer and the car is there now being repaired.I feel the staff member I spoke to today at this business shrugged off this issue and was quite nonchalant about dealing with a repeat customer to their business. I was quite disappointed with this situation.

After not driving my car for about a month, I discovered I had gotten air in my brake lines from some fluid that leaked out the rear caliper(I could see a puddle on my wheel) My car had absolutely no breaks so I filled the fluid myself, and brought it to parsell’s. I told them about the leak and exactly where it was coming from. I had dropped it off. Without getting a call, they put new pads and rotors on my car. Charged me $350. And 2 days later my brake fluid had drained out again. The underlying problem was not fixed. The fluid still drains out of my car. And to make the situation worse on the pads and rotors, I had a lifetime warranty. I have been consistently doing new pads and rotors on my own. So instead of 2 hours in my driveway and 0 dollars spent. I lost my brakes with the lifetime warranty, am down $350 and by brake calipers still leak. I am extremely frustrated and angered by this. I am a college kid spending money I make during the summer. I got screwed by parsells and will never go back. I highly recommend going anywhere else. I wish I could leave 10 more reviews of one star.

Have been bring our cars there since we moved to Southbury (sorry Bill!) They are always upfront with pricing and happy with service. Jim's great and never seems to leave!

Kind and professional and fast! We got a flat tire on the highway in the rain during our road trip from MA to OH. When I called ahead, these guys checked to make sure they'd have the right tire in stock and gave me the price. They let me know they might not be able to serve us right away, but when we got there, they took pity on our 5 kids and got it fixed in no time. So thankful for them!

Very kind and great service. My business partner and I were traveling from Massachusetts to Ohio and had to stop there on an emergency on a Saturday to have our van checked. They took us right away, John was very kind and efficient, checked everything out. I highly recommend them.

Jim and the crew are the best. Great work, great prices. The most important part is that Jim is HONEST. If the work doesn't need to be done he won't do it. Been going there for years. No need to go anywhere else.

MONEY THEFT BEWARE!! I came in because my car would squeak after I turned it on. I got my car serpentine belt replaced just a couple days before from another place because of the squeak. It turns out the guy who put the belt on put it on slightly wrong and it made a squeaking noise again. After bringing it in to Parsells to get this simple quick fix because I honestly wouldn’t trust myself with doing this. They charge me… $55!!!!! For something that should take 7 min tops!!!!! WHAT!!!!! This was the easiest fix and they charge that much!! WHAT IN THE WORLD! IM A COLLEGE STUDENT GETTING ROBBED THERE TOO FOR GOODNESS SAKE! BUT AT LEAST IT WILL PAY OFF THERE! After double checking google, it says replacing an entire serpentine belt is 15 minutes, so why would adjusting it take longer? They told me it took 45 minutes of labor. I find that very tough to believe. Deeply frustrated.

I purchased 4 tires a short time ago. After realizing the tires were vibrating noticably, I asked if they used load balancing equipment. I received an exasperated annoyed reaction from Mr. Parcell saying that is a waste of $5000. He refuses to purchase state of the art, modern tire load balancing equiment. I suspect, therefore, his mechanic uses old ( 5-10 years old) electrical and motor diagnostic equipment also. The balancing machine I saw, when I finally looked, is the same i used when i was 16 working my summer job some 65+ years ago. Having balanced the two replaced tires they test drove my car down a bumpy road after I asked to take it on the smooth Rt 84 highway to feel the tire imbalance. They claimed it was fine. I took it to a load balancing shop to rebalance the tires. The new shop said they couldnt be balanced. I decided to not return to fight Parcells for a third set because what good would it do since they use outdated shop equipment. The new shop said the tires were defective and should have been factory replaced. After I told them of my issues with Parcells, they suspected the tires were stored incorrectly. It is IMHO if you have a modern car (12 years or older) Parcells should be avoided. I consider them "shade tree" mechanics. Consider using another shop that has load balancing equipment and uses OEM parts. Again, this my opinion as a former Ford Corporation trained mechanic in 1971. I am retired now. I would suggest using a modern shop for old and new car alike. Modern mechanics using state of the art equipment and OEM parts (or proven quality aftermarket parts for an older car) is the key to have quality repairs , tires replaced and balanced properly. Btw, I recently found out Parcells put in the completely wrong power steering hose in my truck. (it is for some other truck) It was kinked and made my steering feel stiff - abnormal. Apparently it was completely visible if the vehicle had been given a once over look before buttoning up by the mechanic. The new shop discovered it during a visual check of the truck before it came off the lift. Shop wisely and make sure your mechanic and shop is state of the art.

Amazing place! I was traveling long distance and 100s of miles from anyone I knew with two children. Need to know if what was happening with my car was safe to continue my journey or if I needed a repair. They were accommodating even closing in 1 hour of my call they looked at my car and had me back on the road within 45 minutes of my call and didn’t even charge me. Words can’t describe what that meant to me with two children traveling that I was safe and in good hands. Good people and honest business men are still in this world and work in this shop everyday! Thank you for all you did for me this day!

I had a tire blow out on 84 during my commute and needed an emergency tow. Triple A recommended this shop. I am very leary of going to shops I don't know but I was desperate and needed to get to work. The shop despite being backed up took pity on my situation and fit me in. They replaced my tire and had me out the door in a little over an hour. I am grateful for them and their excellent commitment to customer service. Thank you parsell's for saving me this morning! Have a very blessed and Merry Christmas!

Fair pricing and straightforward. Dropped off my truck to have my valve cover gasket replaced and it was done within two days. Didn’t try to upsell me anything. Just honest work at a fair price.

Went in recently for routine oil change & tire rotation - shortly thereafter car wouldn’t start- roadside service jumped us & went to Parsell’s -battery just replaced in Feb. They thought we needed alternator & got us in just 2 days later for repair. Jim (owner) told us after a “deeper dive” into our particular car brand indicated we didn’t need the alternator. And after spending about an hour on our initial visit & about 1/2 hour when we thought we were getting repair, we were sent home with no repair needed & NO CHARGE for all the time they spent diagnosing!! We did not believe this level of service was even a possibility in this day & age! Parsell’s has been in business since 1945 so I’m thinking maybe Grandfather to Son to Grandson. We hope they stay in business for years to come - incredible work ethic & customer service! 5 stars!

I brought in a tire to be fixed. They said they would call when ready, but never did. I picked up the tire which they put on my car. The price was reasonable, but the tire went flat by morning. It was obvious the repair was not done properly. Too bad, I have used them in the past with a positive result. I will not use them again.

Competent, easy to deal with, price is always fair and most importantly to me, when you get that call about your car, you can always trust what they’re telling you. There’s a lot of good honest mechanics out there. When I find one they get my repeat business. Thank you guys

I’ve been using Parsell’s for the last few years and have never been disappointed. They are professional, kind and friendly, and knowledgeable- as well as extremely accommodating! Most recent example: I came out of my house today to discover my back tire was pretty flat. I called over there, they said bring her on over right away, and within 5 minutes of my arrival the tire was off , being repaired and within 15 minutes put back on and away I went ! I can’t say enough good things about these guys, especially for the way they helped me today! Thank you, and as always I will be back ;)

Wonderful people and service. My husband and I were traveling back to Indiana when our tire suddenly had a screw in it. They saw us in 10 minutes and had the entire repair done within another 20. Very nice price too. Thanks for saving us!

Incredible people. Walked in this morning with a nearly torn off skid plate / splash shield that caught me at night half way through a four hour trip. They told me I might have to wait 45 minutes. They got to me sooner than that. They tightly secured the skid plate so that I could make it home, for which they spent roughly 30 minutes working on, essentially fixed it to the point where I could not worry about it for a while, and didn't charge me a cent! I'm incredibly grateful for their service.

Most people don’t know this, but I recall a family that broke down on I-84 in Southbury. They blew two tires and only had one spare. It was on a Sunday, but the owner of Parsell’s Auto came out anyway, opened his store and got them on their way most expediently!!! I never forgot that and have had nothing but the best experiences there personally for over 20 years. Thanks for all you do for the Town and your customers!!

Amazing service and great place. Been going to them for the past 2 years for oil and tire changes. Heads up that they don't wear masks in their shop and don't require customers to either - if that makes you uncomfortable. They do wear them upon request before working on your vehicle though.

I'm writing to thank who I think may be the owner and the mechanic he referred me to, Joel. I had attempted to replace the front crank seal on my vehicle and in attempting to break the crankshaft bolt loose, I ended up shattering a portion of the crankshaft pulley. So, I brought the car in to Parsell's expecting to pay for them to replace both the crank seal and the pulley I had ruined and, instead, I was referred to Joel who had me pull the car into a bay, on the spot and he promptly removed the crankshaft bolt that I was unable to break loose. I was therefore able to finish the job myself at home. I am extremely grateful to Joel and who I believe to be the owner, who took time out of their busy schedule to help me out with allowing me to proceed with the repair; they certainly could have taken the car in and charged me full price for the entire repair. Their decision to offer me assistance and to handle my situation the way they did is rare these days. It went a long way in showing that they care for their customers. I recommend Parsell's to anyone who needs service for their vehicle.

They far surpass any tire service I have ever received! Pulled in and it it literally took them 15 minutes to fix our flat tire from the moment we pulled in! $15! Highly recommend!

Honest and trustworthy. My lemon of a Jeep Renegade’s dealer warranty was up and I am NEVER going back to Danbury again so when my car started making loud noises and became difficult to steer, hubby thought it was a drive shaft or bearing issue. I had to bring it somewhere so being a local, we made an appt. We are a one car and I have a long commute daily so my vehicle is vital to our family. I dropped the car off and I was expecting a big quote when I got a call back a few hours later when I was told it was distorted brake shields, the steering components were fine. Delighted it was not costly, I was even more delighted when he said no charge. Really? People do that? Thank you! I shook his hand and know that in the future, Parsell’s is right down the street when I need repairs.

I was visiting CT for 4 days when a weird noise started happening. Went to Jensen auto, they made up a story of all kinds of stuff needing fixed totaling over $1500..picked my car up the next day for a second quote , they charged me $115 just to look at it. Called parcels explained I had to get back to PA ASAP. Parcells took me in, called me within an hour to tell me the only issue was worn down rotors and they could do it for $225 labor included! Big difference between $225 and $1500+$115 just to look at it. Way to go parcels for being an honest mechanic shop even with unsuspecting out of state customers. Thank you!
