Jennifer does an amazing job. You can see her heart in every detail. So happy to partner here again for our second Galentine’s workshop. It’s such a great space for events and celebrations. Looking forward to our next one!

The course itself was fun, but I must say we didn't have knowledge the greens were aerated, prior to us playing which was a bummer. But the real highlight here was the clubhouse food! Wow! The burger, onion rings, and wings were fantastic!! Burger was cooked to perfection ? If I was to criticize anything, the slaw was delicious but I would add a little more vinegar, salt and pepper and then it would be out of this world!!! I will literally go out of my way to eat here even if I'm not golfing! 10/10

Never going back again! I've played there for years but NEVER AGAIN! The new carts are the worst, they drive and break nicely but God forbid you go too close to the Tee box as well as many other spots on the course. The cart shuts down and starts beeping insistently. So I think, OK, I'll back up a couple of feet and it will stop beeping-NOT I had to back up 20 yards away will the cart is berating me with these constant annoying beeping. My friend said you have to look at the screen above for a warning...When I'm driving through a severely damaged cart paths and terrain I"M WATCHING THE ROAD!!! Golf should be a relaxing sport-NOT HERE! It was like the cart was scolding me and punishing me...The anxiety it caused me screwed up my whole game. Not going back like I stopped returning to Ridgefield Golf course because they have the same ANNOYING carts.

Olivia works the restaurant. Super nice!!! Bob the GM was more than open to hear about the local golfers complaints and complements. This course continues to improve and look forward to the changes

I played here about a month ago and was extremely disappointed. The course was in very poor condition—rough was overgrown, fairways were chewed up, and drainage was terrible. Many holes had little to no visibility because of overgrown ponds filled with weeds and cattails. The cart paths were so broken down it felt more like off-roading than a golf course. The only positive was the new carts, but honestly, that adds no real value. Most golfers have GPS on their phones or use rangefinders, so GPS carts aren’t necessary. On top of that, the pricing was unreasonable. I had only one option: $90 whether I played 9 or 18 holes, and this was at 4:00 on a Sunday. Given the condition of the course and knowing what this club recently sold for, I just can’t justify the new prices.

Today (8/22/25) is the first time playing CVCC since 2024. Very friendly pro shop staff, starter has a great sense of humor. Fairways and greens are in terrific condition which is interesting as tee boxes have been well used. I like the new carts with top notch GPS. Overall playing CVCC was fantastic on a beautiful sunny summer day!

STAY AWAY I have never felt so disrespected from the staff borderline harassment. Spend your money elsewhere.

I don't often write reviews, but I have to say that CVCC continues to be my favorite golf course in CT. Not only is it beautifully maintained and lovely natural walking course, but the staff is just very welcoming and kind. I had a 7:00am tee time this morning. As soon as I got there, the starter greeted me with small talk/pleasantries and told me about the issues with rain I might have. After 4 holes, the rain/thunder started coming down. One of the maintenance staff drove the mower over to me and told me about the course suspending play - again, wonderfully nice gentleman that gave me directions back to the clubhouse. I asked for a raincheck and the woman running the Pro Shop was gracious enough to just refund me the round. Again, perfectly pleasant and welcoming. I told her I'll no doubt be back soon. Whatever you guys are doing, keep it up!

Don't go there after it rains. Not sure where there was more standing water, on the course or on the cart paths!

Slow on every tee box, asked the pro shop about the slow play and said it’s red for pace of play everywhere on the course and that I have to be patient. There was no ranger that she mentioned that was out there, I even was playing with someone that works at the course and he said there’s no rangers at all. What a joke of a course for the money. Go else where

Incompetent. Booked online and then wouldn’t let us out. No call, no email. Just nonsense. Been playing here for years. Complete disrespect. No accountability

Place used to be a good bargain for the conditions. They increased prices to rival nicer courses but the conditions don’t match. 6”-8” rough, not mowed, losing balls in long grass

It’s easy to tell the new ownership truly care about this place between the upgrades to the course, enhanced customer experience and solid staff across the board. Course offers challenges and forces you to make choices but rewards accurate shots. Fun course, fun people, and I’m looking forward to seeing their continued progress.

Well maintained, challenging, fun and beautiful golf course. Friendly staff and reasonably priced rounds. What more can you ask for?

For early spring in Northeast, and all the winter rain/floods, course is in fabulous shape. Greens running true and fairways lush. Great course that is walkable for pretty much anyone with plenty of challenges to stretch the best golfers, while not being too long to intimidate the rest of us!

Very short course but plenty of challenging holes. Staff was friendly. Pace of play was a bit slow but not overly so. Better drainage and improved pace would push it to 5 stars

This time of year Course is in great shape and even though the summer it's well maintained!

By far, the best greens I have played this year. Challenging course through the tight area's.

All things considered with Covid it was a great round. Well organized, serving food, had a cart girl on the course too. Not a full 5 stars because the conditions could be better. Greens were awesome. All things considered great time, booking my tee time for next weekend Monday morning

Candlewood Valley Country Club is a top notch track in my opinion. Very well maintained, courteous staff and more than reasonable on the ole pocketbook. Sure there are plenty of local munis in the region where you can get the "Private Country Club" experience of a fellow amateur who just carded a 115 (6 Mulligans - NOTTA BIG DEAL) scoffing in the parking lot because he thinks Gary, the Jr Support Analyst is a sandbagger...but I find the fellow golfers at Candlewood to be more enjoyable to play with.

Great course great conditions... the number of times I have had a group sent out ahead of me on the 10th tee while I'm making the turn is mind blowing. Playing around noon-1 good luck making the turn without 2+ groups squeezed in ahead of you.

Interesting layout. Played just over 6k yards from men's tees. A number of blind tee shots that require getting used to. Greens in perfect perfect condition.

The course was nice, but greens weren't consistent for judging speed. Some ran much quicker than others. Didn't have a great first impression. I was almost hit a few times after we started getting rushed through by a couple of teens behind us in graphic teeshirts and sneakers. I was on the tee on the 16th hole when a ball dropped about 10 feet from my head. By the 18th hole, they were within 15 yards as my group began to putt. Meanwhile, we did our due diligence and waited for the group in front of us to get to the greens before teeing off. Overall, the course was limiting and not for those looking to work on improving their game.

A solid 4 stars. Couldn't go the full 5, because I think it's $10-$15 more expensive than it should be; and because the layout is nothing special. Other than that it's an excellent course. It's in great shape, greens rolled very smooth and true. The pace of play was excellent, and I was a walking single on a picture perfect Friday for golf. The fairways and tee boxes were all full and lush. I will absolutely be back, but probably not on a weekend or holiday because of the rates.

Well maintained course with some narrow fairways, well guarded greens and a fair amount of trouble. Nice views and topography.

Probably CT's best kept secret. Total value for money excellent course great condition and plenty challenging and varied Great service ample parking and full service inc range. Priced very moderately for such a good course better than Ritchie park which everyone raves about. Water holes galore and fair bunkers even after a day of heavy rain

We happened by while looking at nearby real estate, unsure if the restaurant would welcome non-members. Our casual lunch was superb. Two of us chose the arugula avocado and shrimp salad. We both agreed it was perfect, best of its kind. The shrimp were large and delicious, probably Gulf since they actually burst with a savory grilled flavor and there were enough to satisfy. The pairings were a delight. Another partner had the salmon and pasta daily special which was also very nice. Some bread to go along would have been appreciated but then we didn't ask. The service was also fine. Would go again, and maybe even take up golf.

Well maintained course but in my estimation it is at best poorly managed. Was sent off on the 10th tee by the starter and within 3 holes was accosted by another player demanding too know who let us off ahead of him, rude people who acted as if the owned the course. As a visitor from VA but born and raised in New Milford, I was appalled by the actions of both players and staff. Would not recommend this course to anyone unless you want to be verbally abused.
