This is the worst trash company in the area. Have to call every week because they forget to pickup the trash, recycling and sometimes both. Very unreliable and will be switching back to a better service soon. None of my neighbors use them either. Plus they’re more expensive than their competitors.
I just have to give another shout out for this great company. I have had Waste Material ever since i moved to Connecticut some 45 years ago. I will never forget that in my younger days raising three very young children and facing some tough financial times how understanding this company handled my situation.
After falling behind on my payments, Instead of refusing to pickup my trash they told me just pay a small amount or whatever you can. They continued the service without interruption. A great family owned company with compassion.
I have had the opportunity to save a few bucks with other offers from different companies but my loyalty to Waste Material prevents me from ever changing companies.
Any waste management company that’s need to be called on a weekly basis to remind them to do their jobs, shouldn’t be in business anymore. Even after several assurances from the main office that “they will be out today to grab the trash” they just don’t show up. So if you enjoy having 3 WEEKS worth of recycling building up in your home. This is company for you.
I inherited this company upon moving into my new house. And I quickly noticed that no one on my street uses WMTC and now I understand why.

We’ve had WMTC for 24 years and have never had an issue. Today the trash man took the time to get out of the truck and move the neighbors trash bin so he could empty it. It was blocked by a vehicle and the neighbor had an ambulance in their driveway. This shows compassion and kindness on the part of your employee
WMTC has always been very courteous each time I've had a question. Whether it was to double check my recycling week, or ask for a special pick up. The drivers are friendly, waving back, come the same time every week, and leave the pales in the same location.
Great company. I used WMTC for 4 years in Avon and they are very reasonable. They have made unscheduled pickups for me when I forgot to leave my trash out a few times. When I recently moved to another house in Avon, they made an unscheduled trip to collect my trash after the busy move. They care about their customers!
WMTC hardly ever picks up their phone. No matter what time of day you call you have to leave a message 95% of the time. Which I find very frustrating. They also had a recent mix-up with my payment which did not sit well with me. Their pick up service was OK for the most part, but I would just rather not have to deal with some of the ongoing frustrations anymore. I'm finally switching to another company as of this week.
