Had to get my car towed today on the highway because it broke down and the tow guy that came and helped us was very friendly and upbeat. He made the situation a lot better with his kind and friendly attitude which we are very grateful for. I was on a highway that I wasn’t familiar with but the tow guy was able to find us no problem and came within 45 min. We’ve had nightmare experiences with other tow companies in the past waiting hours and hours with no eta but this tow company was the complete opposite. Highly recommend it!
Absolute worst experience of my entire life with a towing company. Warning to all the Connecticut laws have changed as of October 1, 2025 all towing companies are required by law to allow you to pay for a non-Consensual tow with a credit card or debit card. This company was not following the law and was demanding payment with cash. There’s even a sign on their desk stating cash only for police dispatched towing.. Another thing my car was impounded for an accident on Friday And I requested my car to be released on the weekend, which was Saturday morning and was told I was not allowed to pick up the vehicle because the impound was closed. Connecticut state law states a towing company that is partially open and they state on their website open 24/7 must allow you to pick up the vehicle even if it’s on the weekend or a holiday regardless of the situation and this company also tried to tell me that if they did open the impound that they would charge a $50 fee. This is also against the law in the state of Connecticut you are not to be charged extra fees on weekends or holidays just because it’s a weekend or holiday. I had to wait until Monday to get my vehicle because they would not open the impound and then I paid for another tow to bring my vehicle to a repair center of which they failed to deliver In a timely manner. The tire company said that they would stay open so that my vehicle could be fixed and that was with town fair tire in Southington. If it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t have my car today. Don’t ever use this company because they do not follow the laws or treat you with dignity and respect. I had an unfortunate experience with the representative that answered the phone on two occasions and she was very rude and not just that she was a liar. She said I never called her to request to enter the impound when I actually did call on Saturday and I had the time and date stamp for that call. If you should experience any of these laws being broken, please contact the DMV’s towing and impound department and make a report in an addition to that I spoke with the attorney general today for the state of Connecticut, which I was able to confirm that what I said is true and accurate. Absolute trash, customer service I would give them a -20 rating if I was able to. Most unprofessional service I’ve ever received.
I was having issues with my truck. I called Sal around 2 or 3 in the morning. He was able to guide me to help me out throughout the day. He called me. He recommended me to a repair shop for it and the shop was awesome to work with.
100% recommend these guys. very professional, friendly and made my problem go away. they responded fast with the correct equipment to tow my truck and camper. the dispatcher came as well to check on the situation and gave me a ride to the rental car location. their service department fixed my issue in a timely manner and had my vehicle running well once again. Thank you Nelcon Team.
We needed an extremely last minute transport of a 12’ long toolbox on a Saturday afternoon We called multiple places closer to the pickup site with no luck. Nelcon was the only place willing to send an EXPERIENCED tech out for 7am the next morning (Sunday). The pickup, transport and delivery was way above 5 stars. Not one tool moved during the project! Super impressive and would recommend them every single time! Thank you!
If it were possible to give more than 5-stars Nelcon Towing & Recovery would get it from me. My car was totaled over the weekend and from the first call I made to picking up my belongings was absolutely amazing. From speaking with Matt, the 1st day and Salena two days later to finally being helped by Gray the day I was able to get there. Every question I had was answered and they all made me feel like a friend and not just a voice over the phone. And let me not forget the owner who helped me out of what could have been a nightmare my thanks and appreciation go out to Nelcon. So yes, I think 5+ stars should be rated.
Our 31 foot RV became stranded. Sal and his team came to the rescue! Their expertise and hospitality was second to none. They worked tirelessly on a Saturday to get us back on the road. Thank you Sal and Team!
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER ! They rip you off for one they charged me for 2 nights when my car was only there for 1. Then when I tried to get clarification on an issues I was having with getting my car out the lot with AAA the owner was EXTREMELY RUDE and kept talking over me and told me to “stop backtracking from yesterday and worry about now” then proceeded to talk over me and hung up. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL place and employees tell you different things each time you call.
I recently was fortunate enough to receive assistance from Freddy and his son, Freddy. Amid a whirlwind of frustration, as I tried to get my vehicle towed back to Massachusetts after it was stolen from me, these two gentlemen provided light in what had been a dark time for me. I find it rare that customer service representatives take such initiative to assist their clients, and they both did just that. It wasn’t easy, but their hard work insured not only the safe transport of my vehicle, but my peace of mind moving forward. God bless them both!
Needed a tow late at night. The dispatcher made it happen quicker than I had expected. Attempted to get a tow through my insurance company and they said it would be mid morning. Mind you I had broken down at 1130pm on a Thursday. If I could give more than 5 stars for the service I received from Nelcon I would certainly do so!
THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!!! BE AWARE! We called them for ROADSIDE assistance because we needed them to bypass the airline. He came and he said I cannot do it but I can tow you to my shop. HE REFUSED TO EVEN LOOK AT THE TRUCK! WE HAD TO PAY $714 FOR NOTHING! He came to let us know persoanally that he can ONLY TOW THE TRUCK. HE SHOULD HAVE TOLD US THAT OVER THE PHONE!!! THEIR PLACE IS ONLY 3 MILES AWAY AND THEY CHARGED US $714 FOR ABSOLUTLY NOTHINING!!! They are SCAMMERS who are trying to tow your vehicle for the simplest thing so they can rip you off big time in their shop. STAY AWAY from this company
Called last night for a tow. They were very professional and came on time. I was very satisfied with the service and quick response. Highly recommend them for a tow! Thank you!!
