Unfortunately, the customer service experience at this business was deeply disappointing. A friend of mine ordered a part, but the wrong item was sent. When he contacted the company to resolve the issue, he was met with hostility rather than assistance.
Instead of a productive conversation, the owner could be heard in the background becoming visibly upset and refusing to engage directly. The sales representative was left trying to mediate the situation, clearly caught between the customer and an uncooperative owner. It was uncomfortable to witness, and it seemed the staff were more focused on deflecting blame than resolving the issue.
Mistakes happen, and policies are understandable—but the unwillingness to listen, the lack of professionalism, and the poor attitude displayed throughout made it clear that customer care is not a priority here. Based on this experience, I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere for their boating needs.
Brought an 18ft Edge Water with a 135. Outboard Yamaha for a “tune up”. Plugs were done and was told everything was “fine”. Fast forward a couple of days….upon launching the boat, it wouldn’t start. The boat would simply crank over. The boat had a full tank of fuel and oil. Upon calling Affordable Marine, I was told the boat didn’t have fuel upon dropping it off, which in fact it did, 25 gallons worth prior to dropping off. Whoever I was speaking to continued to lie and stated there was no fuel in the boat there for they put their own fuel to the motor while completing their inspection.
Come to find, my fuel/water separator had a hole on the bottom, leaking fuel into my bilge pump ultimately not allowing the motor to start. They insisted there was no fuel onboard when they worked on the motor, and stated they were only told to due a “tune up”. Resulting in my motor never firing because of the fuel/air leak in the filter.
In conclusion , don’t waste your time here if you’re looking for quality work. They simply looked past any problems that were obvious and thought the best solution was to just override it by hooking up their own fuel source, undermining an actual problem that was occurring.
Fantastic all-around. I had a mobile mechanic come out and tell me I needed a costly replacement of my fuel system. Jim and his crew diagnosed the issue properly and saved me a couple thousand dollars. Trustworthy and quality service, you can’t go wrong.
This is our first interaction with Affordable marine. Having never owned a boat before, Jim was VERY honest and courteous during our experience. I would not hesitate to purchase from this establishment. I have read the other negative reviews about this business and find it hard to believe they are referring to the same company. Have always used Affordable Marine for servicing both my pontoon and Sea Doo. They are courteous and always have my recreation boats done as promised. Also used them to register my new pontoon and trailer, so much easier that going to DMV!! Thank you Jim!
AVOID! They cut the cables to my BILGE PUMP knowing I was launching it after I picked it up from them!!!
Jim is a liar and a cheat and I wouldn’t trust his shop to service my boat with the most basic needs after having to pay another mechanic to fix everything Jim’s business broke on my boat!
They will cut corners and don’t prioritize safety let alone the quality of their work.
I bought a boat from Affordable marine and asked them to install my motor on the boat. Motor was installed with three weeks delay, I got extra 50% charge and when I launch boat on the water I need to call another mechanic to start the motor since it wasn't connected correctly and inspected by marine.
This "Affordable" marina cost me double an addition to my stress. I would not recommend to deal with this company.
This little store you would think, has lots and lots of stuff very well kept the employees knows their stuff man. Super friendly great customer service.
Just tried to buy a boat from this place. Boat was originally posted for 12,500. I called first thing in the morning and tried to make a deposit on the phone. I was told they do not do that. No problem. On my way down I called and they said they had a sale pending and the boat wasn’t a available anymore. Next thing I know they list the boat for 13,500 saying it is available but more expensive, a half hour later they list the boat for 16,500...
seems like a shady operation and untrustworthy, I would stay away...
This guy sold me a boat with holes in it! He never ran through the boat. Never told me as is ! The motor blew a coil first time out within a minute of running time. Brought the boat back to him for repair. Not only did he keep the boat for months he had the balls to charge me for the repair on the motor! I would not buy a washer from this guy !
They did my lower unit at the end of last year so had to winterize it till this year just took it out for the first time and had problems with my motor they didn’t tighten up the water pump all four bolts loose one was actually off now they don’t want responsibility bad business.Just talked to other boat businesses and was told they are affordable for that same reason.Dont trust them.

I have removed my negative feedback because I want to give the people at Affordable Marine a chance to make my serious issue right. Will post an accurate review after I talk to them this week (12/4/19).
Had my boat winterized and shrink-wrapped at Affordable Marine. Excellent, fast service at a good price. Michelle in the office is fantastic. She is very helpful and gave me great advice for getting my out of state trailer registered, specifically where to get the VIN check done. They actually stocked the trailer clearance light I needed, but more importantly, they can get all kinds of parts delivered the next day. I plan to have them prep & detail the boat in the spring.
Brought my boat to have tilt trim motor replaced, I provided the part. Charged me $600 and never checked it because they never put any tilt trim fuild in it. I had to do that myself.
Also had my boat in there indoor storage for the winter, my trailer was brand new. Had zero road time on it. Literally went from my house to affordable marine storage. Got it back in the spring with leaking wheel bearing.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.
Took my Yamaha 9.9 to a different shop- they made it run WORSE and had it for 3 weeks! Lost faith in them and took it to Affordable Marine and just two hours of labor it was done. Picked it up and took her out and she runs like a kitten! Such a relief to be able to feel confident in the motor.
Don't do what I did ...go straight to the pros. These guys are the real deal.
My experience with Affordable Marine is regarding their indoor winter storage for the past 2 winters. The price is very good however last year when I received my boat back in the spring one fender on my trailer was badly damaged and my license plate was also mangled. I decided it was the price you pay for such cheap storage and fixed it. This past winter I used their storage again figuring the incident last winter was just a one time thing. I was wrong. When I picked up my boat last week the rear bottom of my boat had a big chip of gel coat missing. For the winter storage the boats are packed tighly into a warehouse. I'm guessing my boat was damaged while backing it into a trailer tongue of another boat. And also my "covered" boat has dirty shoe prints all over the boat. Not sure how that happens. I've already purchased materials to fix the gel coat. I'm done with affordable marine. You get what you pay for, be careful lesson learned .
I bought a used boat here last year and got burned. I failed to have the boat inspected by another mechanic, as I figured (incorrectly) that a boat sales and service business would not sell something that was bad. I found very soon after purchase that, among many other problems, the engine block was cracked (improperly winterized, likely), the outdrive was coroded and the flywheel was missing teeth. Note that I paid market value for the boat compared to other exact models in great shape. Now I'm left with basically a hull and trailer.
I tried to reason with the owner (who wouldn't speak with me, so I had to talk to him through an administrator) but was told, verbatim, "that's why they call it buyer beware".
I'm not saying you can't get a good boat here, but do your due diligence and have it inspected thoroughly elsewhere first.
