What to say it's a scrap yard, that was a lot cleaner than the one I've used in the past their customer service was friendly.

I've been going here for years, always have 100 or so lb of scrap #1 copper to trade. My problem is that they are consistently 60 to 70 cents under the trade in rate for literally every other scrapper in the state. They claim its the difference in transport costs, etc but I can confidently argue against that, Arvada has a center almost identically built and looking up where they transport and where these guys transport, the average shipping distances are very similar. The cost can't be that different between th e se two companies, yet Arvada's center offered me 75 more cents per lb of scrap without question and even offered 5 more cents per pound if I came in over 100... these guys told me I would need "way, WAY" more weight for them to even be willing to negotiate a trade price. I dont know the owner personally, but I do know that as of January 17th 2026 the average national price of #1 insulated copper is selling at $3.85 per lb. These guys offered me $2.70 per pound and effectively told me I wasn't a big enough fish for them to take care of. Customer for several years here, being treated like a common thief by a business hiding their theft behind the guise of "transportation and operational costs" If you value your time and want better exchange rates on your scrap, you would be much better served driving the 40 extra miles to Arvada's center on Ralston Road-- at least there I know they take care of the people giving consistent and repeat business and you will likely make 10-20% more on scrap than going here, for me that usually equates to over $100 extra in my pocket. CO Iron and Metal, if you want to make this right and want me to delete this, give me the average local rate of $3.35 it currently is as of 1/17/2026.

They seemed annoyed that I didn’t know how they worked. It was my first and last time. I even asked what do I do and It was small and brief.

SHADY BUSINESS!! They will take advantage of new customers and WOMEN! STAY AWAY and not very helpful staff except Marinna in the front office. We came in with a trailer full of aluminum, brass, and stainless. We had an older gentleman separating all our items. He priced our load at $209.25. I was not satisfied as I knew what items I brought in. So I asked for help with Shannan, and she was rude and not very helpful. So I went to discuss the prices with the same gentleman, and I noticed them separating my load into different piles. Clean aluminum. Then he noticed I caught them and back peddled and weighed them for a separate ticket of $22.40. I know we had a lot more than $230 on that trailer. See pictures of items and of the stack they pulled out from one of my bins. Marinna said I could talk to management, but I think the public needs to know there is a possibility that you will encounter Shady business here. Why no response from the owner? We will contact the BBB and local authorities as this is theft.

I've been going here for almost 11 years. The staff here has to be some of the best people I've ever met. They have always taken care of me and explaining what metals go where and how I should separate this from that to maximize my money for my next visit. I would definitely recommend.

Called to see what their prices were for some aluminum as I am new here. The man was nice enough and gave me fair and good prices. So I decided to try them out. Made it there a couple hours after that. Parked. Guy comes and checks my load. No glass on the windows he asked.. no sir. I replied; no weather strip, screen or glass, all clean. He checked it out. Cool, clear, and he brings me a container, I load it up and put the aluminum sheet i had in a different container as well.... Gave me dirty prices, even after we both sat there and checked it out together. I been scrapping for a while and I know my stuff. I need reliable and fair business. The guy in the forklift that day cheated me. I'm glad I didn't have a giant load.

BEST OF FORT COLLINS! Do you want to help "The enviornment?" This business does that here and now! You too can help the enviornment by turning in your metal here!!! Its a very easy process: Enter the parking lot... Right side (WEST) is a RAMP. Drive up on the Ramp when the light is green, In the office, they will weigh your car, truck, suv, or trailer. Drive ahead when told, park near the piles of metals, and unload your metal recycling. Its fun! Its amazing to see what others have turned in to recycle!! Turn around, and drive back to the ramp - weigh your vehicle again. Pull over near the office, go inside and get your $$$! Very nice, helpful folks!!

Mario is the king of the tow trucks. I needed to scrap a vehicle that was in an awful position and he worked some magic and removed it from a tight spot in a storage unit. What a lifesaver. Thanks Mario!

Been scraping steel here for years and they've always been great. Knowledgeable staff and always very helpful. Impressed everytime I go.

Best scrap yard iv been too. Iv brought about 5000# of stainless to them this year. And plenty of other metals. Prices are fair I think they gotta make money too. Everytime they are helpful and very knowledgeable. They even have a sweet detector to tell the difference between different stainless steels. They know what there doing here . People that leave bad reviews about this place i feel like just don know what they are doing haha.

I was a little concerned after reading the reviews. I have to say that my experience was above and beyond my expectations. Marty was straight forward and Ryan very helpfu.

I went in with ~60# of probable stainless steel scrap. Company buyer touchs it with his magnet - it was attracted to the scrap metal. Company buyer tells me the scrap is magnetic and therefore not stainless steel. I leave the scrap for the company for free. I later read that many stainless steels are magentic.

Metal Recycle Yard that pays! Steel - weigh in on the truck scale, drop your metals, weight out, get a ticket, and get paid. Copper and Al are worth much more and handled in the building. Easy and quick.

The staff are friendly and helpful. I have taken random scrap metal from bbq grills, car parts, bent utility shelf parts, plumbing, etc. The process is easy, and all that junk will create something new instead of filling the landfill. Make sure you remove non-metal parts from items, and don't mix metals. You even leave with cash ?. Not a lot, but it pays for the trip. Colorado Iron & Metal is a blessing to have close by, so treat them well.

Dan Garvin was great to work with. We had about 8 truckloads of steel we needed p/u'd. He was very easy to work with on the logistics AND they paid us very promptly!

CO Iron and Metal, Inc. helped us out so much with a vehicle that needed to be scrapped a specific way. Dan and the front office staff were kind, knowledgeable and patient with my many questions and phone calls. I couldn't recommend their services more.

I am a recycling guru. And I am so glad they are out there for me to complete my task. And being open on Saturday is even better so when I come down from the Mountains I can bring my recycling down with me instead of finding a weekday that I can make it down.

I personally go there several times a day. They got the best prices and personalities. And are very helpful to all guests and customers.

Great place to sell scrap, pays market value. Pro tip, if you are selling iron make sure the scale displays a red light then turns green, so they can note the weight, coming and going. And separate the more expensive metals beforehand.

They will accept types of metal that other salvage yards won't such as office chairs. They don't pay much though. Good people there and helpful. Wear face mask to go into office. Wheel chair accessible.

After looking at all the reviews I decide to call N ask well how much number one copper Was. I was trying to give the benefit of the Doubt The Receptionist sent me to a sales rep. Which told me a $1.70 a pound. So I thanked him for his effort and then I called Rocky Mountain scrap they call me $2.10 a pound For number one copper And a $1.70 for number 2. I was real Pacific about what kind of copper I had. The people that had the negative reviews , Are right They will take advantage of you. So people call the places before you pick this one. It is sad that you cannot trust people these days. Knowing the sales rep was gonna pocket 40 cents on the dollar in His pocket. Thank you but no thank you.

By far the best scrap yard I've ever worked with. The employees were friendly and accommodating, and the prices they offered were better than any other place I called. The customers ahead of me in line left with a lot more money for their scrap metal than they were expecting too.

Went there on Thursday and got rid off f smome small stuff. Inquired about price of copper explaining I had 2000 lbs of MCM. The yard manager offered me 2.70 a lb for that size of a load, which made the 45 mile drive worth it. Loaded up Saturday morning and drove it up. I knew it was gonna be bad when the guy came out confused with the quote as his first thing said. They offered me a dollar less after seeing how much of a pain in the ass I already went thru to get it up here. They said they can't even sell it for 2.00 a lb. I called my regular scrap yard and they told me the price today was 2.30. Got to love businesses who are crooks....worth the drive going anywhere else!!!

They screwed me out of money! Website shows 30 cents per pound, they paid 25 cents per pound. Then they cheated me out of "200 pounds because there were leaves" in the trailer. It would take 2 of my trailers full of leaves to make 200 pounds! What a scam!

Had my wife call since I was at work and they where disrespectful and not wanting to explain anything. All she got is "sure" to every question. And the lied about there business hours! I drove from greeley so am truly upsel. Next step is better business bureau.

They have a new location and it's much easier to get in and out. The lady at the front desk is always friendly. It's a no fuss experience. You weigh in, dump your load, weigh in again now that you're empty and you get cash for your metal. Super easy. We've used them for 20 years. Feels good recycling.

You know, I really like these guys, the place is nice, people are nice, everything is well done. However, the price they pay for scrap metal is way way under what the other metal recyclers are paying. If you have a large amount of copper or aluminum to recycle then definitely make the drive to Greeley... Andersens and even Martins pay almost twice as much. As of today Colo I&M is paying .95 cents for #1 copper, Andersens is paying $1.75...
