Unfortunate and disappointing experience with Downtown Autobody. Another driver hit my vehicle in December, and their insurance agreed to work with me directly on a settlement. I brought my car to Downtown Autobody to obtain an estimate for repairs. Martin was professional, patient, and thorough. He answered my questions and provided a written estimate of $3,625, which I then submitted to the insurance company. Shortly after the car accident, I sustained a work-related back injury and am now undergoing ongoing medical appointments and spinal treatments. Because I cannot be without reliable transportation during this time, I chose a cash settlement rather than having the car repaired immediately. At the time of the estimate, I was told that courtesy cars were handled through Enterprise and insurance, but since this was the other driver’s insurance, coordinating that added complexity I simply could not manage while dealing with a serious injury. After several days of back and forth, Downtown Autobody submitted an estimate to the insurance company on 2/2—for $3,353, roughly $270 less than the estimate I was given. No explanation was offered beforehand. When I called to ask about the discrepancy, my interaction with Mike was deeply unprofessional. He was dismissive and argumentative, accused me of having no intention of repairing my car simply because I opted for a cash settlement, and implied that I had wasted his time. He also alleged (incorrectly) that I planned to take the car to another shop, which was never stated nor implied. If this had been a “cash grab,” I would not have waited over a month and a half while navigating an injury, insurance pressure, and repeated delays just to obtain an estimate. I understand businesses need to protect their time, but professionalism, transparency, and basic respect shouldn’t change just because a customer chooses a settlement option that is legally available. This experience added unnecessary stress during an already difficult medical situation, and now, I do in fact intend to get my car repaired elsewhere. Supporting photos attached.

Great, fast service! We stopped by to fix the hatchback on our Subaru and they were able to fix in about 10 minutes. Very nice and friendly, highly recommend Downtown Autobody to all!

Mike took excellent care of me. I wasn't sure where to bring my car in for my grinding issue, and Mike and his team found it was extremely minor and fixed it no charge. It's hard to find honesty like that nowadays. Thanks Mike and team!

Very good work we are happy with the process. The guys were great and I came back with a car way cleaner than what I dropped it off as I was not expecting the interior of my car to be cleaned for exterior work, but they cleaned it front to back. They went above and beyond.

My car was sideswiped and there was damage to a side panel, bumper & paint =[ Well, Downtown Auto Body returned my car yesterday and it looks fantastic. Can't even tell a really bad driver damaged my car. They are professional, more than courteous, & just a great group of skilled people who know how to repair cars. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time they've repaired our cars. That's why we go to them and no one else. Happy Thanksgiving.

What a pleasant experience with Downtown Auto Body. I was assisted within a few minutes of arriving for the estimate. The entire staff was friendly and very professional. They were fast and reliable in reaching out to the insurance company within an hour. When I came to pick up my car, it had been washed inside and out... cleaner than my car had ever been. It even stayed spotless after the rain! I would highly recommend Downtown AutoBody for your repairs.

Beyond excellent customer service. Martin in specific was a huge help towards my car and overall experience! They made this stressful experience a lot more comfortable and easy to navigate for me! I’ve had downtown auto body do a previous paint job on a car before and they were so upfront about the everything and provided quality work. I recently had a vehicle involved in an accident and I knew just the place to go to, I knew my car was in good hands and there wasn’t a thing I would have to worry about. I definitely recommend their business, Mike and Al are the best!

We just had the sides of our RV slideouts on painted by Downtown Autobody. We were scheduled quickly and got our coach back in a week. Paint looks great. Price was reasonable. Spencer and his team are top notch. Highly recommend Downtown Autobody.

Amazing place, ask for Mike. I went in after running over one of the alligator tires that came off a retreaded semi.... I also needed the passenger door fixed after someone had tried to break in causing the door to leak. Update: Both things were fixed faster than expected and the cost was better than expected and better than anyone in the area. I will be back!!

Spencer and the folks at Downtown made our less than ideal experience as good as it could be. We struck a tree with our 2020 Ford Transit High Roof Extended. The damage was significant, but after getting it back you would never know it happened. I’m grateful to have found Downtown Autobody, they did a great job and did so on a reasonable timeline.

I went down there today for an estimate on getting some scratches fixed, and out of the kindness of their hearts they just fixed them for free right there. (I did give him a nice tip). It took maybe five minutes. I highly recommend Downtown Autobody, and will be returning there if I ever need more work done.

They fixed my car the same day when I was expecting it to take three days. The repair they did is fantastic, and my car was returned to me much cleaner than when I took it in! When and if they need arises again, Downtown Autobody in Rohnert Park is where I will go!

I heard about Downtown Autobody and RV repair from their radio ad on KNBR radio last year. I needed body repair work done on my Storyteller Mode LT conversion van. I looked into closer RV repair centers recommended by my local (WC) FORD dealership. I chose to travel over an hour to Cotati to have my repair work done at Downtown. My first contact with Michelle and Spencer was super! Polite, prompt, clear and respectful. Since I'm a full timer in my rig, they made it a priority to get me in and out quickly. I was ready to wait my turn, knowing they must have current repairs in process but they made mine a priority. Who does that? Thank you to the Downtown ownership for allowing this! They kept me informed during the process and delivered ahead of schedule. They provided welcomed shuttle service to the car rental service. And the work was flawless! If anyone needs Class B or larger bodywork repairs, I highly recommend Downtown Autobody and RV in Cotati!

My mechanic recommended Downtown Auto when I was rear-ended over a year ago and they did a fantastic job! I was impressed with how great they were to work with. Recently I was fender-bended by a relative, who did not want to deal with insurance, so we did it out of pocket. They had a loaner car for me to use! There was a misunderstanding about the estimate that concerned me. Mike heard me out and worked with me to make it right. It's rare that I see such such outstanding customer service these days. I highly recommend their caliber of work and their outstanding customer service.

I don't know if their motto is under promise and over deliver, but it could be! I had a broken tail light and some damage to my bumper, and was told it would take 3 days. They called me half way through the second day telling me my car was done! When I picked it up, they had graciously filled in a couple of small spots where the paint was nicked off on another part of the car. Also, to my surprise, they completely detailed the inside of my car, in addition to giving it a good wash on the outside. I initially wanted to use Downtown Autobody because they have long supported local youth sports, and I like to support businesses that support things like that.

Awesome place, awesome experience, awesome results. I had a few dents and scratches on my bumper that bothered me but I decided to live with them. I backed into a short wall on Christmas and that was the last straw. Downtown Autobody was great from the first contact. The estimate was lower than the other I had gotten. The staff was wonderful to deal with and the result was beyond expectation. I highly recommend Downtown Autobody with no reservation! I am happy I backed into that wall!

Mike made the process so easy and fast. I got rear-ended and was hoping the minor repair could be done before the holidays and Mike and the team made it happen! He made communicating with my insurance a breeze and I had my car back in less than three days. He communicated any changes with the estimate daily and explained the repairs that were done and why. They washed my Mazda inside and out, and I left in better condition than I had it on day 1. Highly recommend!

This is my fourth experience with Downtown Autobody. Originally recommended by my mechanic after my son’s car was hit in a parking lot. Most recently, my mom’s car was involved in an accident. Looks like new. I can’t say enough about their professionalism, or the quality of their work. Best of all, they finished the job a day ahead of the estimate.

This is the place to go for Autobody work. Gus & company were very helpful with the insurance, friendly to work with, and the vanagon looks better than before the right side got damaged. There were some hiccups along the way but quickly resolved and they ultimately went above and beyond. Grateful I found them.

Mike and his crew are very patient and cooperative in the estimate stages, working with all parties involved / insurance agencies in an expedited manner. While being flexible in schedule, their work is completed efficiently and effectively with the utmost care and detail. The body and paintwork is flawless - you'd never know any damage existed. Downtown Autobody provided my wife and I with one of the best customer service experiences in Sonoma County! Mike took very good care of us and our vehicle that had been in a fender bender last month. Mike’s team of technicians and representatives were not only knowledgeable but very friendly. Mike was always great at keeping us updated and communicating with us about our BMW from start to finish. Even Gus the proprietor of the business got involved towards the end of the repair process and also exemplified the same helpful and friendly service that Mike had displayed when we were first came to the shop. Now my wife’s BMW actually looks better than it did before the accident because Downtown Autobody did such an amazing job at reconstructing the vehicle. Best Autobody shop in town. From the estimate to the repairs they were quick and easy to work with. I dropped my car off on a Monday and was given a courtesy car because my insurance doesn’t cover rental cars. They called me to update me on different findings and went to my insurance making the whole process seamless. And the best part aside from my car looking brand new is how fast the quality work was, I was able to pick my car up just three days later and they even cleaned the inside. Great company I will be recommending to everyone I know!!!

Mike was so accommodating and very good at communicating. There was a problem with the bumper that was sent and he made sure it was replaced and even called me in between to make sure I wasn’t forgotten. Both times Mike made sure my car got washed and vacuumed! It was so nice, most especially since I’m a busy mom.
