Thank you Matt from Golden Gate Auto repair shop. Stopped by Golden Gate Shop to see if Matt can work on my 300 Chrysler today Thursday 8-28. The air conditioner is not working at all just blowing out hot air. So Matt service my car and work with till he figure out what the problem was. Blown fuse and needing Freon too. Was out about in an hour. Thanks again Matt. I so appreciate you.

Had a random starter wetting the bed on me, the next morning i called a auto shop and they said 700-1100 for work on my 2012 chrysler. Call golden gate auto up, very professional, very kind, got the job done that morning for half the price. This is my new mechanic and if you are in fairfield suisun area HIGHLY RECOMMEND 5 STARS!!!!!! Will be back for any future mechanical work!! GOD BLESS!!!

Matt is hilarious and an honest and great mechanic. I like his sassy attitude. I would recommend you go here for your services! I brought my parts in and they did a few quick fixes for me. He also gave me helpful info on something he wasn't able to fix but let me know the issue was recalled and could be solved at the dealership.

I took my car in for an oil leak check and spent $1,236 on repairs that Matt, the owner, identified as necessary. He told me it was a big job that would take a few days. When I called him on Monday to get an estimated time frame, he was dismissive and said he would contact me. I explained that I needed to rent a car and required an estimate to extend the rental. When I picked up my car, Matt showed me the part that was leaking. However, just two days later, I noticed the car was still losing oil rapidly. When I contacted Matt to let him know, he said I could bring it back on February 22. But when I called on February 21, he claimed he never told me that and suggested I come in the following Saturday instead. On March 1, I returned for service again. When I asked about a timeframe, Matt was rude. I reminded him again that I didn’t live locally and needed to make transportation arrangements. After they finished working on my car, he said they fixed the initial leak but claimed the other leaks weren’t his responsibility. I had to send a male friend to speak with him before Matt clarified what was supposedly fixed. He had backtracked on his assurances concerning the repairs. My dad went to the shop to discuss the issues, and Matt offered a different story, insisting he never said he would fix the other leaks. My dad pointed out that since I came in for the oil leak, it was Matt's job to identify and address all the necessary repairs instead of just focusing on one area that he felt he needed to fix. A couple of weeks ago, I took my car to Jiffy Lube for an oil change, and they reported rapid oil leaking, advising me not to proceed with the oil change due to multiple leaks. I then drove my car back to San Francisco to a trusted mechanic, who informed me that my car was leaking from five different areas. I've also spoken to two other customers who had similar complaints about Golden Gate Auto not fixing their cars properly.

It is a good auto repair. They changed my alternator and the belt in a professional manner and it tooks them only 2hours. The owner is a nice guy and honest. I wish him prosperity in his business.

Today was my third and final time coming to Golden Gate Auto shop to get my car serviced. Matt’s abrupt manner and unprofessionalism is beyond me. Today Matt and another employee were replacing my brake pads/ rotors and they got into an argument while I was waiting in the lobby. They were cussing at each other and Matt was mad because he said his employee never listens and is always on his phone. I was in pure shock listening to this argument. Even if his concerns were valid, it was very unprofessional to argue in front of a customer. **RESPONSE TO MATT'S COMMENT!! Seeing as I can't respond to your comment, i'm replying here. First, looking closely on the wall doesn't tell me anything about you. Your actions do though. You didn't do me any favors sir. You billed me for the parts and labor and I have the receipt. I took off of work to get my car fixed and not once did I rush you. I brought things to keep myself occupied and if you needed more time you can have easily taken it. Start taking accountability for your actions. I see more about your character in your responses to negative reviews than I can see on your wall. And an apology from me? Please!

Matt was great! He fixed an issue with my window not rolling up/down which everyone else was trying to upcharge me for. I highly recommend his service!

I had a great experience with Golden Gate Auto. Probably one of the best mechanics I've been too. Took my car in for some issues and the mechanic addressed every single one them. My car has not ran this good in a very long time.

Thank you for saving our day! This is an amazing shop. Traveling thru Fairfield on Saturday afternoon & discovered a belt sliding off in the engine. Another shop in Fairfield recommened this place. He worked us in & got us back on the road in a reasonable amount of time. Great prices considering we were out of the area for a new pulley & serpentine belt repair for a Honda Minvan ($418). We even made our appointment in Napa by 5p.

Let's be honest, when you're having car issues and you know you have to it to a mechanic, it can give you pretty bad anxiety. We can't help but think that the mechanic will completely empty out or wallets and come back to us with mechanical problems that don't even exist. This Auto Shop place is the complete opposite. Matt the mechanic is such an awesome guy and very hilarious. Tell him what the issue is and he'll fix it. He fixed my car and did an oil change for a very good price. I was surprised. I will not take my car to any other mechanic but him. I really appreciate it! Matt #1

So grateful I found this place. One of the few shops open on Saturdays in the area. Was able to drop my car off in the morning and had it ready for pick up that same afternoon. Excellent communication about what needed to be fixed and never felt pressured for extra work. I will 100% come back for all my car needs.

My friend told me Matt was a great honest mechanic and I was super glad to have gone to him! He quoted me 375 and when I had to pay - the total was only 344. Now that’s an honest man for ya! So glad I found an honest guy!!

My car wouldn’t start today. Luckily, I was able to jumpstart it and quickly drove to a mechanic. Unfortunately, the shop I usually go to was booked up, but I found Golden Gate Auto while driving around. They were able to accommodate me, identify the issue (a new battery was needed), and complete the work in 20 mins. They were very professional and provided great customer service. They saved my day! I highly recommend their services.

My car broke down on the way to work early in the morning. Luckily, this shop was open and the tow truck was able to get me there by 7AM. They replaced the alternator and got me on my way in less than an hour. The customer service was outstanding and I can't say enough about how accommodating they were.

THIS IS MY GO-TO MECHANIC HANDS DOWN! I've been coming yo Matt for a few years now and he's never disappointed me. He always charges me a fair rate and many times hooks me up for way less. I've gone to other mechanics before and there's no comparison! I've got coworkers that live near SF that come way out here just for him to service their cars and fix stuff. I've taken many different types of cars and trucks to him and he's fixed them all, with all different kinds of problems. Just recently our van overheated and he found the problem, fixed it, and then even fixed my door while he was at it! I'm telling u, I don't know any other mechanic like him! *Side note: I noticed some people have put bad reviews on here, and it seems to be a lot for the same reason... his personality lol. Matt's a little...different lol - he's straight to the point and no nonsense, and also a little opinionated too sometimes lol. You just got to learn how to deal with different people. He's actually a really nice guy that MANY times goes the extra mile to get you back on the road. I can assure anyone that has doubts, that this guy DOES know what hes doing and he's a great mechanic. He's stayed late many times working on vehicles for me and then even let me pick them up after hours so I could have the car for the next day.

Very rude and could not give an accurate price quote. I missed his call and called him back, I didn't even say much but he said something to me about needing to be quick and I'm talk talk talk, then proceeded to give me a range instead of a quote. Then acted dismissing. I am familiar with what my vehicle needs and the cost range. What I needed was what would it cost his shop to do it. This is my second experience with him and the first was just as bad. The first time I received no paper work or anything and he was still rude. Attempted a second chance and there is no way I would trust this company.

This is a reply to the previous review. I explained to you that the abs, brake and speedometer was a separate issue from the engine light/shaking issue. I told you that I'm not worried about the abs issue because I've been driving with it for some time now and i just didn't have the time to fix it myself yet. The issue with the abs, brake and speedometer is bad abs control module ($50-$100 fix), for your information. Now, the shaking and the engine light was a recent issue that just came up. I told you that I'm more concern with the engine light but you wouldn't listen and kept on rambling about your computer reading. If you were a competent mechanic, you would be able to identify the issue right away like the shop that I went to the next day and I'm so glad I did. Had i left the car with you, i would've lost thousand and not gauranteed the car will get fixed.

My Camry was shaking when idle and the engine light was on so I decided to take it to this shop because it was closest to my house. I explained the issue to him and he did a diagnostic test on it.. then he told me that it would take hours and hours to fix the issue and would cost around 1k. He then told me to go look for someone else to fix it because he doesn't know or guarantee that the issue will get fixed. So I paid the $100 for the diagnostic test and left. Next day, I took my car to another shop and guess what? They literally took less than 5 minutes to fix the issue and they did it for free! The issue was the ignition coil 6 and they happened to have a used one available for me. They simply removed the bad one and replaced it with the good one and it was done. I have no idea why this guy at Golden gate auto said it would take hours and cost 1k. I have a feeling this guy doesn't know what he's doing or what he's talking about. Smh.

I asked the business owner for a quote to remove the four wheel drive electric shift motor from transfer case and manually shift transfer case back into two wheel drive, very easy job. Also, wanted an oil change. His reply was he didn't do that type of service. I'm a disabled senior who just wanted to temporarily get my vehicle running so I could use it around town for doctor visits. Two wheel drive would have been fine for this purpose. I do not recommend this shop.

Accidentally dropped in this place thinking it was the smog shop next door. Matt gave me a hard time about it, in a joking manner of course, but figured since I had some free time I'd check to see if they would do an oil change and take a look at my AC unit, which hadn't been working in over a year. Matt had me in and out in an hour and prices were very reasonable. Extremely friendly service. Will certainly be bringing my business back here.

Matt did a great job! I took in my husband's 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser for some maintenance work such as new spark plugs, radiator flush, and drive belt replacement. He quoted me a price of about $255 which is about half the price of other dealers in town! I was a little skeptical because this seemed like way too cheap compared to other quotes I had gotten. This guy is the real deal. Very honest and fair. Not only did he do all the work I asked, he also called me and notified me that one of the pulleys needed replaced and with my permission he replaced it without any labor charge! I would highly recommend him to anyone, good and honest mechanics are hard to come by.

I have gotten a lot of repairs done on my car over the years. Most of the time I feel like I am getting the soaked in one way or another. I haven't felt that way at this place. The guys here do their work well and that is what they stand by. I think I will just start doing all my oil changes here too, even if they are a bit pricier The main point reason for that is probably the better oil filters they put in there. My car seems to run better and the oil isn't as filthy when I get the oil change done here.
