….its the transfer station, so 🤷🏻♀️. That being said, they DO keep it pretty tidy. I noticed they do collect all of the kids Tonka trucks and heavy equipment toys that get dumped and put them on display.
This is so much better than the alternatives. Great people. Easy to use. All concrete, and everyone cleans up after themselves: reasonable rates. All you could ask for.
I just went there it was about 10 o'clock, got lucky, and there was no line, and after the weigh-in, we were able to get backed in and off load. Went very smoothly. But then I had everything in bags.
So, 5 stars would dump there again. lol
Nice staff! Very friendly in the office. Guys at the building are helpful and polite. Staff was also helpful when disposing of recyclables. Went above and beyond to assist. Thank you!
Great place to leave trash. Way better than dumping it in the desert. Everyone should be able to bring trash here for free, so they don't dump it near my house..
This time we went there was no wait at all. And not sure the girls name that was working over by where you dump your trash off but she was very friendly and helpful. She answered every question we asked and she even used there shovel to help us get trash we were throwing away that fell off the curb and threw it away for us because we forgot our shovel.
Easy peasy lemon squeezey the dump is super convenient easy drop off and great to be so close I just wish they didn't get rid of the brooms and shovels they had for everyone to use
This place is very well-organized and efficient at managing waste. The staff is kind and professional. They actually have real people answer their phone who are extremely helpful. Love and appreciate this place.
Now if only we could get lowlife's to take their discarded items to the transfer station and stop dumping trash in the desert . Maybe dump fees should be waived to encourage more people to do the right thing?
Dump your trash
My biggest problem with this place is not getting permits from the county even as a local homeowner.4 years in a row I've had to request a permit that should be sent automatically.
I went there to throw up the trash bags. All systems look to work well to take care of neighborhood trash. The place was clean and we'll organized. People there were kind too.
They don't stick to posted hours. Three times now they've been closed when they should be open. I guess we shouldn't expect government employees to open on time or stay open until official closing time. Government jobs are just different from regular ones. If you don't feel like working, then don't.
Transfer station, known as the Pelan dump. This place can be busy on the weekends. Tuesday to Thursday is the best time to go. There is no recycling center here. No cash for cans or other recyclables. If you live in the area you can obtain a dump card for your trash. Nothing over 4 feet in length in your trash. Normally you can get in and out of their pretty quickly. Sometimes you will need to weigh your vehicle before and after. There is no recycling center for computers or broken televisions. Trash only.
This place is allot less busy than the transfer station im used to, which is in between Carson, Gardena and Torrance. You also don't have to step on the trash pit floor, so your feet doesn't get that sludge on the bottom of your shoes and into the footwell of your vehicle. I also love the fact that there is a mixed recycling container that is open for customers to add items to. I don't have a clue about price difference, since I am using a residential customer card and in Carson my boss always paid (although I have seen dump tickets in the price range of about $150 - $325, for a large flatbed truck that's got a 16' x 8' x 5' bed full of roofing debris, over the last 20 years, depending on the variables).
