Found Kevin's Auto Repair online after being quoted $1,000 from my Toyota dealership in Milpitas to install side boards on my vehicle. I scheduled an appointment, and was quoted $200 per hour for labor. I was ultimately charged $100 dollars, or half hour of labor from Kevin's Auto Repair. I will definitely be bringing my truck back here in the future, and strongly recommend this place to anyone in the Bay looking for honest and fair prices for the work performed. Thank you Kevin and team.

5 stars all the way. He helped me fix a dead battery and made the whole process stress-free. Great guy, very honest, and didn't try to upsell me on anything. I'll definitely be coming back here for future repairs!

You cannot find a more honest, trustworthy, well priced mechanic. Kevin and Tony are quick at understanding even the most complex issues, figuring out the best price to fix and then their team does a fantastic job. Over the last 20 years, they have worked on many different cars of mine (Subarus, fords, BMW) and with every fix they understand my needs and help to make the best decisions. Cannot recommend higher!! I live far from them now and still take my cars there!! And, most importantly, I trust them completely. They will never oversell you. So honest!!!

Honesty + Fair Prices, have used Kevin for years to keep our high mileage Toyotas and VWs running well. Now have come into possession of a high mileage Chevy truck and glad to see Kevin’s business is thriving. Highly recommended!

Responsive, friendly, HONEST. Just took my car in because of some silly thing that isn't fixable. Kevin gave me some practical advice, did some stuff to help, charged $0. High class, trust worthy.

did what i asked for and at a good cost (for this economy) labor was 100 for an hour but so are other places so not a problem. Asked them for a checkup and didnt try to upsell me when they didnt find anything. its a busy shop with a small waiting area so dont think of staying there to wait for your car to finish. So glad my previous mechanic recommended me here after they had to flee the country

It's hard to find an honest auto shop. When you find one, you stick with it. I stumbled on Kevin's auto through great word mouth reviews prior to Yelp, Google etc... 20+ years now through 5 different cars. Kevin, Tony and Nick are great. They've kept my cars running great even through the high mileage years. Honest, reasonable and efficient.

They repaired the wiring in my car for a very good price. Kevin also provides a great customer service by simply asking how your name is pronounced and not upselling you repairs.

Really lovely and professional. Called in the morning and he was able to see me that day. Gave me a detailed pre purchase inspection that gave me confidence in my car purchase and helped me negotiate a fair price.

I bought an old car, and then sent it tot Kevin's for a routine review, to be sure I didn't buy trash. They inspected it, gave me some great insights and some quotes, and didn't charge me a penny. I'll probably bring it with them whenever I need to do something to my car.

Had an alternator replaced on a Ford Escape. This has to be done from underneath the car and requires that the front right axel and exhaust be removed. Did a good job at a reasonable price. Would use them again.

Came in for squeaking brakes. Kevin's did an inspection, told us the brakes were fine, gave us some advice/tips, and sent us on our way - no charge! Appreciate the honest assessment and helpfulness!!!

Have been going to Kevin's for years now and I wouldn't pick another auto repair shop to go to! No frills, fast and affordable service! Would 100% recommend to anyone looking to get their car serviced!

For years, neighbors have strongly recommended Kevin's Auto Repair. Only wish I'd started bringing our vehicles here sooner. Kevin's honest and direct, and seems focused on long-term relationships with customers.

Very professional and trustworthy. Finding a good mechanic or auto repair place is finding your favorite pizza spot. I would recommend Kevin’s auto to anyone. I’ve never been disappointed with any job they have done and highly recommend them to anyone.

Kevin’s is our go-to for auto repair. They’re reliable and friendly. If they can’t get you in same-day they’ll suggest a trusted alternative. The one time we went to a different mechanic (what we thought would be a quick oil change but ended up getting upsold) we immediately regretted it!

Great guys. I live a few blocks from Kevin’s shop and can’t recommend them enough. When my car needed a jump they trusted me with their portable jumper without even asking who I was. When I needed some mechanical work done on a tire they completed the work expeditiously and refused payment since the work was very minor. Awesome guys to trust with all your car repair needs.

My car has been having starting problems since mid-September, and I even had to call a tow truck. But the tow truck master woke up the program and started my car. After that, I was afraid that there would be no way to start it again, so I drove the car directly to Dealership. Since it was a Saturday, they said they had to wait until Monday for a mechanic to inspect the car, and the inspection fee would be $257. My husband and I discussed it and started the car several times, but nothing happened. We just drove the car away, and surprisingly the same problem didn't occur for a week. Another Saturday, my car stopped working again at the same time. I had no choice but to send it to Stress Free Auto Repair, and unexpectedly found that their inspection fee was $56. They were the only repair shop I could find that was open on Sundays. As a result, they tested all the programs and found no problems, and there were no abnormalities every time they started. We were notified on Monday to pick up the car. Since no problems were found, they did not charge us any fees (I think they are very sincere about this). On the third Saturday, the car went on strike again. My husband joked: Maybe he really wants to implement a weekend weekend system. This nearly month of strike protest is just hoping that we can accept this suggestion hahaha. The very next Wednesday, as expected, the car actually stalled at the traffic light (it was waiting for the light to turn red, but luckily it wasn't halfway). My friend recommended Kevin's Auto Repair, and I sent my car to their place the next day without even thinking about it. Their have full of orders (there were at least 20 people in front of me, and there were several car repairmen working at the time. Including Kevin, they were all over fifty, and two of them were about the same age as my grandfather, and they looked very experienced.) I was afraid that the engine would stall halfway, so I drove straight to the area where they were repairing the car. Although I was accused of not blocking the entrance and exit, they still patiently came over and led me to park somewhere else. When I started it again, it started up. As soon as the master heard this, he said it was a problem with the Starter. I originally wanted to wait on site, but he saw that I was a little anxious and embarrassed. Said we would give you a quotation and plan as soon as possible, go home and wait. You see, there are more than 20 people waiting in line in front of you. I took a look at the quotation on the table. Still took a taxi home. While waiting, I wanted to minimize the cost of repairing the car. I called 5-6 companies to get quotes (I asked them to break down the Starter and Labor fees), including Dealership, and they were all between $1,000 and 1,500. In the afternoon I received a quote from Kevin, $554.65. It’s more than half cheaper than all the ones I consulted. I asked them to fix it at that time and gave me some time. They said they could pick it up at 8:30 the next morning. Love the service👏🏻

You know a shop is good when the actual price of the repair is less than the quote they gave you! I came to Kevins autorepair with a bunch of parts I bought online and asked them to install them for me. Price for labor was very fair and less than the quotes I had gotten over the phone. I'm guessing the work required less time considering all the things I wanted to install. Lastly, I had a small coolant leak after they replaced my radiator and water pump. Took it to them and even though the looked into it and did some system pressure tests, they couldnt find anything and didnt even charge me! Its hard to find a shop you trust and I will be coming back for my future service needs.

Kevin’s Auto is a super honest shop with very fair prices. My family has taken all of our cars here for over 40 years. I am happy to recommend Kevin’s to my all of my friends and coworkers.

Honest, helpful, and dedicated to helping you get your car in the best condition possible. I have been going to Kevin's for over 20 years now, and I have always been respected, treated fairly, and they always answer any questions I have about service or car. I am on my 3rd car that I take there. If your car is older and/or out of warranty, I highly suggest you take your car here.

Its always hard to find a mechanic you can trust, but Kevin's Auto have always been honest and helpful to get my cars back on the road. I have a few newer and older cars and the mechanics here have no problems working on both. Glad to have found a good mechanic in the Bay Area to work on my cars.

I highly recommend to anyone looking. I had two windows not rolling down on the driver's side and I normally go to the dealership but they were booked out for 3+ months in two locations near me. I went to Kevins and never going back to dealerships. They were professional, so fast, had great communication, and made the process so easy. They did not overcharge me and got me in for an appointment within a week.

I have my car’s front lights fixed here (2009 Honda pilot). First time customer, but the best experience so far. Tony fixed two lights right away in 10 minutes so that I can drive legally, and booked an appointment for the next Friday because they didn’t have the free rack to fix the 3rd light. They didn’t charge me until all the lights were fixed. They have the honesty in all aspects! Never seen such a reasonable labor fee. they are sincere and friendly folks. Really appreciate the service from Tony! I will recommend to all my friends. Btw, the 4.9 high rating from Google map is absolutely true.

Down to earth, super friendly, very honest, customer centric, very very reasonable price (many times even free tips). Kevin, Tony and staff are great to work with. I highly recommend Kevin's Auto shop and I worked with him on three different cars and never disappointed.

Kevin and Nick are professional and very knowledgeable. Great customer service and truly enjoyed my experience with them. 2013 Honda Pilot broke down on dumbarton bridge and used Kevin’s Auto Repair because of their great rating and close to home. Fixed my car and haven’t had any problems. 1 year later we took both of our cars for maintenance. I like them because they only address problems that needs to be fixed. No pressure for other services Highly recommend!!

Great place with straightforward no-nonsense service! Sounded like they were pretty busy but they still got to my car fairly quickly, found the problem, and fixed it! Gave them a heads up of a few other minor things about the car that were acting up and these guys fixed those as well while they were working on the car and didn't charge extra / dime n' nickel me for it either. I tend to go with my gut on auto mechanics and they did a great job, will definitely be coming back!

Superb service, nice guys, and very honest! I have a Ford Explorer sport 2016, and the right rear upper molding (a plastic board) was broken. I bought the part online and needed someone to install it for me. The installation is a bit tricky because we need to take off the right rear window glass that sticks to the metal, install the molding, and stick the glass back. I checked with many auto repair stores in Mountain View, and two Ford dealerships. Kevin's auto repair gave the lowest quote $150. I sent the car there and they did a great job. When I picked it up, I was told the final price is $120 because the glass guy charged them less than expected. This is the first time I saw such honest auto repair guys! Even they don't tell me, I would not know it. Last but not the least, the service itself is superb. When I left there, they also told me some things to avoid in next 24 hours to ensure the glass firmly sticks to metal.

Picked up my explorer from Kevin's today. It's running great now. They explained what was wrong with it (leaking coolant was because of old and loose hose clamps), how they fixed it and how they tested to make sure that the coolant was not leaking anymore under pressure. Thus is the third time I've gone to their shop and I've had good experiences with my explorer and before with my cavalier (to replace a radiator and general tune up). I'd recommend making an appointment if you need to get something fixed more quickly, but even without one I go my car back after a couple days.

I've been to Kevin's shop at least 4 times in a last few years. This is not a place for you if you are looking for: 1. Fancy waiting room 2. Sleek "assistants" 3. Overpriced parts and services However if you in need of top notch mechanic that loves and cares about cars and you like to deal with down to earth, straight to the point people, you won't find a better place in the area. Here is why I love this shop: They drive me home and back so I don't need a ride or wait there for the repair. Their prices are very reasonable. I always check prices in a couple of places before taking a car for repairs and I always find Kevin's offer the best. At my last oil change Kevin cut the price of the job, (which was without the discount lower than the competition), and I never asked for the discount. My last repair was for a shaking wheel while braking at the high speed and oil leak. When they brought me back to the shop I got quite a shock. Tony said the repair was free. According to Kevin it was under warranty. I have to say that I really appreciate it. My car is old and even if they could get a warranty on the parts they replaced, they still spent significant time on the work itself. This shows you people that proud of their work.
