I neede a tow. Got John's Towing and Recovery via my AMICA Road Service. I needed to know if I could ride back home with the truck driver. The AMICA agent advised me to call the tow truck driver directly because it varies between companies. THE BIG PROBLEM IS THAT JOHN'S TOWING WILL NOT ANSWER THE PHONE! I COULDN'T EVEN LEAVE A MESSAGE BECAUSE "THE MAILBOX IS FULL." HE WOULDN'T EVEN RESPOND TO MY TEXT!

Worse company in the world. Had me waiting nearly 3 hours at midnight with a baby in the car. My insurance company issued them to come and get me. They did nothing but lie. The guy who answers the phone had the worse attitude in the world. My insurance company is now investigating to remove them from there policy. All around horrible service please avoid
I want to say thank you to "John's towing. I called to schedule a tow and within 45 my truck was picked up and delivered just like that. What John's Towing didn't know was" i made a last minute request 'my truck had to be moved before the day was over. He excepted my credit card payment over the phone, the process went smoothly. My insurance carrier set up a tow for roadside assistance. John’s Towing gave 90 - 120 minute estimate. 2 hours later they updated with additional 60 minute estimate. Ended up asking my insurance agent to cancel and assign to another tow company. New company arrived in 30 minutes and took care of everything.
If I could give 0 stars I would. Waited 4 hours, tow never showed up and then they stopped answering the phone. The most unprofessional business I’ve ever dealt with.
I locked my keys in my car. He told me 15 min. Showed up in 10. Did his thing in less than 1 min. If I ever need help again I will call johns towing. Thank you!
Extremely untrustworthy conpany to deal with. Told him that I need a car towed from Rosevile to South Sacramento, he said 200, I told him let me run it by my mom if she is ok with the price. Called him back 1 minute later and texted him the address of the car, he tried to rip me off and started saying 350 and started lying about what I said, I was very clear on what area the car is located and to where it needs to be towed. DONT LET THIS TOW COMPANY HAGGLE YOU OUT OF YOUR MONEY, UNTRUSTWORTHY
I waited over 3 1/2 hrs for them to arrive which they never did, the person on the phone stopped answering my calls, and after another 30 minutes I found out through my insurance company that they had canceled without even telling me.
Even 1 star is too much for this absolutely unreliable rude company!

John's towing in Sacramento was by far the best towing business ever. That's not hyperbole. I called them and they were 15 minutes earlier than our set time. They were quick to get me to my destination and the price was extremely fair. The conversation was even pleasant. I will indefinitely use and recommend them moving forward. Truly awesome experience.
Had a TERRIBLE experience with the same name company, but that bad company is actually John's Towing & Recovery from 19687 Mission Blvd Hayward, CA 94541. This company owner said in other reviews below he has nothing to do with them. Glad I didn't leave this person unfortunate to be using the same name a bad review. The other bad company isn't listed on google but can be found on that other famous review site.
I Called about 6 different towing locations. All wanted $185 to $260 to tow my car approximately 5-7 miles and a 2 hour wait time . Called johns towing gave me a quote of $165. I told John that it's only a 5 to 7 mile tow, he dropped the price to $150 and said he can be there in 40 minutes. He actually showed up in about 25 minutes. He was very friendly. He help ease my day a little. It's never easy when your car breaks down and your stuck knowing it's going to cost you something that's not in the budget.. but he definitely help make it easier. I definitely recommend John towing service

I called John in the early hours of the morning and got a 20 minute ETA. I was meant with that ETA to perfection and John was more than being able to communicate with me. For where I had to tow to, tI would say the price was reasonable.
Terrible experience from the beginning to end. State Farm unfortunately contracts with these clowns. Started with the false hope of giving me an ETA, then proceeds with multiple "updates" so you think the driver is on the way. No response for hours then suddenly shows up. Called me but no answer on other line when I picked up the phone. Cancelled the tow without my consent so now I'm starting fresh on day two. I'll be reporting this on Yelp too. Turns out I'm not the only one who's had this experience.
Don't believe the false positive reviews from "people" with only one review (likely accounts and reviews created by the owner to combat all the negative truths/experiences reported from unhappy folks). Take your business elsewhere if possible, save yourself the headache!!

No words can explain how much we appreciated what John's Towing did for us, we had to have my sons BMW towed from Sacramento to San Jose, as our landlord gave us notice to move the vehicle due to non-current tags (its in non-op status after an accident that left it undriveable on New Years Day) anyways, my other son has a house in SJ and due to lack of funds, we couldn't pay to store it for more than a few months, anyways, my son in SJ, offered up his driveway for free, we just needed to get it to the Bay Area, we don't have any vehicles that can tow the car, as its weight is well over 2k, so we found John's Towing, not only was the price reasonable, but he was available to do the tow asap, meaning we didn't have to wait til after the weekend to get the tow, as the landlord wanted it gone by that Monday..
Thankfully the driver showed up within 30 mins and delivered the BMW with no problem! Needless to say, we are extremely happy with John's Towing and would recommend them to anyone who needs a tow!

My tire went flat & I used my roadside car service which is usually great.
Although, this time around I decided to cancel my roadside service after waiting two hours for them just to change the ETA to another 4 hours equalling up to a 6 hour ETA just to change a tire.
After the new & updated ETA, I received a GPS link suggesting they were on route... but the problem was that the GPS stated that the tow truck was literally in a city a few hours away from me. After receiving this GPS information, my ETA changed from 20 minutes to 115 minutes. If this company is requested with your roadside service, I highly suggest canceling it and finding another service.
I would agree with others, something seems shady about the way these folks conduct service.
I'm so sorry if you end up stranded with this company. I'll be contacting my roadside service company to let them know what's going on with this company in the hopes that those who are stranded don't have to experience this.
My car broke down and I needed to be towed, my insurance company hired this place to pick me up. They told me it would take 60-75 min to arrive, no problem. 2 hours goes by, I still haven't heard anything from them. I reach out to see what the issue is and the man on the phone tells me it will be 20 more minutes. A couple minutes later I get an update via text and the ETA moved to 40 min.... It's been 40 min and I'm still sitting outside in the dark waiting for a tow. Still the driver has not shown up. In ten minutes, it will be 3 hours of wait time and I'm still not sure if this guy will even come. I understand things happen but the communication with this company has been terrible and unprofessional. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. If I could give them zero stars, I would.
called for an emergency tow on florin/calvine road. my 87 supra died and wouldn't hold a charge. took him about half an hour to arrive like told. Had to to make a u-turn as he went down wrong rd. my car is lowered but i give the guy props since it was a single man doing the job.
the low rating is because the rough handling with my car. Dented the front lip when loading but it didn't snap so i didn't mind. but he made me pay before making me unload the vehicle. the steering wheel was locked when unloading and he fiddled with the ignition and that scratched my front left wheel. he at least offered to push my vehicle onto my driveway.
They picked up my car and took it the repair shop. Upon arrival the driver proceeded to literally drop my car off of the flatbed damaged the whole front of my car and cars at the repair place. He tried to push the hood down to act like nothing happened, to hide what he had just done. Many eyewitneses labeled it very unprofessional. He had no idea what he was doing. Will be seeking reparations for damages done.
