John is so informative when he does a tow. Takes his time to educate clients on the variables. He was on early or time to help a 3rd party I was sponsoring. John is also a pleasure to be around because he's a positive energy force.

We are so thankful for the team at John McHugh's Towing! A 6 p.m. flat tire on 680 was going to take more than two hours to repair when we called another company. Instead we called John McHugh's and they quickly brought our technician a spare tire and installed it on the truck so we could get it back to the shop at a fraction of what the other company was going to charge. We really appreciate all their help and look forward to using them in the future!
This group is incredible!! From the random conversation in Safeway, to Daniel being the absolute rockstar of a Tow Truck Operator that he is, I can’t sing their praises enough. Good genuine people here. Daniel took the challenge of getting my 66 Caprice relocated from a storage facility, to a driveway, and he absolutely nailed it! All while leaving room for my wife to still park in the driveway! Great man right there!

Driver was on time. He had a little trouble finding me but called me right away. We were transferring a forklift onto a trailer and he was very careful when loading, trying to make sure the trailer wasn't damaged and then helped to carefully position the lift on the trailer for best ballance and so the load was carried across the trailers structure evenly.
Great customer service. Everyone I spoke to was lovely! The driver dispatched to me, Daniel P., was incredibly kind and sweet to myself and my toddler. Would recommend 10/10!

Had the best experience and use them every time I need a tow or lock my keys out of my car. John towed my big lifted Chevy truck 3 times that it broke down at my work on the flat bed and showed up quickly and got me and my truck home. John Mchugh’s tow also has towed cars for my parents and hauled some other calls for us. Great tow company and very nice and their tow trucks are always so clean inside and out.
Every time I had to deal with any impound tow company it was automatic rummage through entire car as soon as it hits the yard. My car was full I mean full of treasure. It was there for a week my own doing. But, I paid the fees which was a lot. To my surprise everything was still there in the same spot. I recommend not getting your car impounded. But if you do you want these guys to do it. Great job not your average tow company.
This is the best by faaaaarrrrrr towing company I have ever dealt with in my life!! Was treated with great care and understanding from ALL the staff there, which was not what I was expecting. I have to give credit where credit is due to Lauren, she went above and beyond with the greatest customer service and worked with me on getting my car back. She treated me like a person and not just like all the other tow companies you hear about out there that's just like " You either got it or you're not getting your stuff back." Truly amazing. I so appreciate and am greatful for all the patience and understanding all of you have shown me, Mr. McHugh is smiling down on all of you with how you guys are running the show. Just how he was!! I know he would be very proud of you.... Keep up the great work and continue being the people you are cause the world needs you, there's not enough people like that anymore

I rented a u-haul, got a flat. I-haul reached out to them for assistance they said they would be out in about 45min. After the 45min u-haul reached back out to them and they stated that they would be able to help. Terrible!!!
I've investigated thousands of crashes in my career. It finally happened to me. Had CHP get me a tow and this joke showed up 30 minutes later. I told him what was up and he cuts me off. Says, "Well, tell me what you want because I charge $220 an hour." I politely tell him USAA is covering the tow. He tells me, "No, that's not how I work." I tell him to leave.
Of the thousands of crashes investigated, never have I ever come across a wrecker service that charges a customer, with insurance and tow coverage.

Nice people called ask how much it would cost for my tow by chp would cost took a few hours called back and gave me the numbers per day. I had to wait a few days because dmv was closed i thought it would cost 1000s of dollars but it was cheaper then i thought fast and friendly service.
Unfortunately, I found this business to be unreliable and disorganized, based on my experience.
TLDR; I needed my car junked, but they no-showed/rescheduled on 3 separate occasions and lacked communication. My car was at my parents' place, 30 miles away from me, and since I'm required to be present for pickup, I wasted a lot of time and gas money for their no-shows.
Initial appointment:
We were scheduled for a Tuesday 9-10am pic-up window. At 9:45am, they called explaining that the driver had a family emergency, which is totally understandable. No worries here.
Rescheduled:
We rescheduled for Sunday 10am pick-up time, and they said the driver will call me when they're on their way. I even called the day before and they confirmed my appointment. On Sunday, 10am passed, and I hadn't heard from the driver. At 10:20am, I called the office to check on the status of the situation. It went to voicemail, so I left a message. They called me back shortly after, stating the driver can't make it until 12:30pm. At that point my gut told me this was an unreliable situation. I was unavailable anyway, but I also wouldn't want to wait 2 hours for something I didn't trust would happen.
Rescheduled again:
So, we rescheduled again for Tuesday before noon (yesterday). It's now Wednesday, and I haven't heard from them.
I'm not sure what's going on with the business. Maybe just an unlucky coincidence, but I'll be looking elsewhere.
Well, if it's inventory was refreshed more regularly this would be a pretty good place, tiny entry fee, a good selection of cars to pick at.
Staff is what you would expect from a salvage yard. Quick to the point, not trying to capture your heart or anything. All in all, I had a positive experience.
They were very helpful they didn't have a big inventory like there was before what was easier and more manageable because I can actually find what I was looking for which was just a battery more than half off price just as good as a new one little homie at the counter was very helpful
worst customer service. I Needed a window for my truck. Guy at the desk said they had it, I asked for him to confirm. He would not. I drove all the way from Berkeley. They didn't even have my truck on the lot. Avoid this place at all costs. Head to Fernandes towing, much greater customer service.
Called about a radio. They said that there was a radio but that I would have to come down to see if it was the right one. When I drove there and found that there was not radio. They said, "It was there yesterday." Upon complaining they changed their story saying that they don't keep inventory. Unfortunately, you won't be able to use the "new management" excuse from four months ago. Better have some more of your friends write some good reviews. You are not running a business that I would recommend to someone who values their time and prefers not to be lied to.
They have a huge selection of vehicles. Could be more modern and organized. I'm a Toyota tech and when we as a shop need a known good part, I go here..thank you
The yard is small and completely unorganized. The front desk thinks he has a car when then don't. Their "no plastic" policy means you need cash to buy parts.
Stuck on the side of the freeway for hours waiting for my insurance to find a tow truck. By chance this tow truck from MCHUGHS comes and offers his service without being asked. What great people.
Just called was talked to very rudely for a very simple question about one item in stock. Better phone editcate is needed. Had a chance for a client. Nope not no more
Great place, Jessie real helpful guy, very respectful guy, great prices on cars, and parts.only place I go to when I need parts or cars, they have everything there you and some.
