Great service good price

I can’t say enough good or great things about this place. They were friendly, efficient, and honest. I appreciate that they rethreaded my oil pan. They saved me a car repair I couldn’t afford. This is my new repair shop. Thank you.

Five stars isn’t enough for Wise Auto Tech. Wais Saboory, the owner, is a stand-up guy, kind, honest, and truly a master when it comes to cars. Think 6th-degree black belt in automotive knowledge. His experience and attention to detail are on another level. Zain, their service writer, is also great to work with. Always friendly, welcoming, and clearly knows his way around cars, even if he’s not the one turning the wrenches. Between the two of them, you feel like your car is in the best possible hands. They’ve worked on two of my cars over the years and the service has always been exceptional. Most recently, I brought my car in because a nut had come loose on the turbo (a leftover issue from a previous owner’s install). Instead of just replacing the nut, they went above and beyond, replacing all the bolts on the turbo to ensure long-term reliability. That kind of thoroughness is rare. Wise is also a full machine shop that rebuilds engines, so they’ve got the knowledge and resources to do the job right. My car has never run better. I’m happy to pay for this kind of quality. If you’re anywhere near Berkeley, do yourself a favor and take your car to Wise Auto Tech. You’ll thank me later.

No integrity. Gave them to press in a ball joint. They did not manage to do the job and returned the ball joint broken to me. Quietly without saying anything that the ball joint was all bent and the inside broken, they gave it back to me. I asked them to refund me and the owner refused to take responsibility. Don't be fooled by the Bentley he has on display there, he will not even refund you a $20 mistake! Furthermore, he continued claiming that the ball joint is OK and with clean consciousness suggested to install it in my vehicle with the risk of catastrophic failure and death! This is the kind of shop this is! I showed the ball joint they returned to me to another shop and they said it was broken and would not install it. The other shop did install the other healthy ball joint with no problem though. So it was not a problem of fitting but rather problems of working with professional tools and skills. Wise Auto Tech tries to install the ball joint with a self-made jacked up piece of pipe (not with a professional tools) and even the machine shop worker said to me that he bent the ball joint because the piece of pipe he used was not level. However, the owner is not standing up to it.Avoid!

Wise autotech was honest, clear, and fair when I went to have my 07 outback power steering, head gasket, etc. checked and oil changed. Both Zain and Wais were incredibly helpful and easy to work with. I definitely intend on coming back whenever needed

Brought in my Mazda for a flat tire and a squeezing noise. They charged me almost $2k to replace some parts and after 4 trips and weeks of them having my car I still have the issue. Wise is not professional, which sucks because his employees seem nice. Direct quote when I told them I still had the issue and played the sound over the phone” I dont believe recordings, if I can’t replicate it it’s not an issue.” Don’t bring your car here.

I’ve taken my car here twice and each time has been great. Very kind and welcoming people. They’re clear about which services are necessary and which to hold off on. The prices are reasonable! They accept Costco discounts too.

They quoted us a price 200 lower than what they charged. Driver side mirror missing when we got car back. Maybe it was all a miscommunication, but, it didn’t seem like it.

NOT recommended! Very rude and non professional people 👎 First I did call but he said call me later, I did call after an hour and I did try to make an appointment for a repair, he said no I don't have time, I said tell me please what date is good for you so I can bring it and he hangs up the phone while talking. Very rude people, they don’t have a respect to the customers!

Had my vehicle serviced recently. Zin was the technician and appreciated his attention to detail. Yes, I recommend them for vehicle maintenance. The facility is spotless! The team super customer focused. I had spoke with both San and Zin before making an appointment. They were both professional and courteous to me. Thank You!

I am overjoyed by the quality of care given to my car by Wise Auto Tech. First, I visited Firestone who could only assist with 1/3 issues. I later found Wise Auto Tech on AAA’s verified mechanic list and I wish I would have come here first. In less than a few days my car was back up and running. Updates were provided to me throughout and I even received a check-in call the day following pick up just to ensure everything was working to my expectations. I have definitely found my go to mechanic!

This place was great! Made an appointment and dropped my car off ten minutes early no problem! They called before doing any work with issues and expected labor cost. Called me again when it was done and we're very professional. Highly recommend using this place!

Wise Auto Tech has been exceptionally helpful in keeping my GMC Yukon XL working well. The shop is meticulously clean and well organized. Mr. Wise and his mechanics are very knowledgeable and helpful. Their work exhibits honesty and integrity. They have been able to diagnose and fix any issue with my truck over the years, often times quicker and less expensive than I had anticipated. Best experience, most communicative repair experiences I have ever had with an auto shop! Have gone multiple times for anything that comes up and it has always been fixed in a timely manner. Love this place and am a forever customer.

A massive disappointment and nightmare! All out there wishing to rebuild their engine at this shop please consider this story and I will be as concise as possible. A few years ago I knew that both of my aging vehicles needed engine rebuilds. I was delighted to have found this shop in my own neighborhood with an in house engine shop. After research and some time I took in my work truck and my beloved old Honda CRX Si (which is now a collectible) for back to back engine rebuilds. I spent in total about $9,500 and entrusted the owner with the two vehicles I was still planning on using for a very long time (I'm not into throwing cars away etc.). A few months later, I noticed that my Honda was losing a considerable amount of oil. After speaking to my regular mechanic of 15 years I called WAT for a warranty inspection. When I took it in for the appoinment, the owner would not even look under the hood. He said, 'you are using the wrong oil...', I replied, 'it's the same oil from the rebuild...'. From this point on the two year long nightmare began (which unfortunately is still not over). I sued the shop in small claims court and got my money back but lost tons and tons of time away from my own business. Now in only 10,000 miles driven since the rebuild, the head gasket is leaking radiator fluid into the motor etc. It's a terrible thing when a supposed specialist does a job clearly with low quality control and then does not stand by their work, watch out...

Great Machine shop attached to a large auto mechanical shop. The shop looks well equipped and not too busy to take smaller orders. I recommend going in person rather than calling in. Over the phone, I was told one price and schedule. When I came in 2 days later, I dealt with a different person who squeezed me in right there and for half the price. Definitely walk-in, because you could catch them in a lull period and really get a deal. Excellent customer service and I'm happy with the work. I found a new "go to" machine shop.

Owner said nothing wrong with car, but the 2005 Audi needed a new water tank - part only $300 but labor $1200 - and a new timing belt. I agreed - $2000 in repairs - since he assured me I was going to be able to drive this car for 5+ years. I drove from Oakland to Gilroy the weekend I got the car back - and the car broke down halfway there. After calling the owner, owner refused to see the car again and hung up on me when I called. So I took it to the Audi dealership. Not only did the car have the tubes hooked up wrong from when they replaced the water tank, but they also failed to tell me that there was an issue with the spark plugs - the exact issue I told them I was getting a code for on my engine reader. Do not trust these people at Wise.

I found Wise Auto Tech on the AAA site and saw they had a really high rating, I felt confident about bring my car in for brake pad replacement. My last oil change with Big O told me I was basically metal to metal and would need to replace the pads and rotors immediately. They always have a laundry list of issues, its a gross sales tactic. I dropped my car off at Wise this morning and was contacted 2 hours later, as promised. They informed me no change was needed and I had 6 months or more based on my driving. They could have totally made a sale and chose to be totally honest with me. I appreciate it so much and will definitely be back when it is time.

I've been going here for several years and have had nothing but great experiences. Professional friendly staff that give you detailed understanding of what's wrong with your car, good turn around on repairs. I'm a big fan of Wise Auto Tech.

I took my Mazda MX-5 in for brake issues, oil leak, and basic fluid changes. My partner had been bringing her car in here for years so I thought I would give it a try. He found the oil leak, fixed brakes and other items. Running very nice now and more importantly stopping better.

My beemers head melted down, Wise replaced it with one he had machined at his own shop for a very reasonable price, its been spinning like a top ever since. I have 100% confidence in his advice, pricing and reliability of hi work. Best show in town.

One of the last honest mechanics around. Great prices and only charges you what you need. No bait and switch here! I live over an hour away from this shop and still make the drive for a job done right the first time! THANK YOU Wise your the best !!!!

Owner seemed nice enough, but I got a head pressure tested for $75 and the tech tried to tell me it was warped and needed to be machined for another $45. When I went to pick it up and asked to see the straight edge on the head, the warp was mysteriously gone. The same tech also couldn't tell the difference between aluminum and steel, and still wouldn't believe me until I told him to put a magnet on it (it was aluminum). As I was leaving, a guy came up that was given two left side heads for his v8. They couldn't figure out how they rebuilt it wrong, insisting that they didn't switch the heads, despite the shop having random blocks and heads strewn all over the place.

Wise and his crew have kept my vehicles running for years. I'm mechanically inclined but when I either don't have time or its out of my area of expertise I take my vehicles to wise. They've rebuilt engines for me, and taken care of all the computer associated repairs. There are always bumps in the road when dealing with any resource you have to rely on. But I've always been taken care of by these folks. And I always recommend them to my friends.
