BERKELEY mini saved me the other day. I noticed a pool of transmission fluid under my car and I had to teach a final in a class in Palo Alto the following day. The technician who I talked to you on the phone gave me valuable information on whether to refill it or not, and then offered me a loaner car if I dropped off my car that afternoon. They fixed the car the following day and even did a differential oil change and rotated my tires for a very reasonable price.Thank you, Berkeley Mini, thank you you saved me!!!

I really wanted to trust this place, but my experience at Berkeley Minicar was honestly shocking. I brought my car in because it occasionally wouldn’t start. Not only did they fail to diagnose the actual issue, but the person relaying information to me clearly had no idea what he was talking about. He just read off a screen, paused forever before answering basic questions, and couldn’t explain anything beyond the price tag. The whole interaction felt off. They told me my brakes were “1mm and unsafe” (they’re actually 6mm and 7mm), and claimed I needed a VTC actuator replaced for $2,600. None of that was true. I took my car to another shop for a second opinion — they immediately found the real problem: a simple starter issue. They also confirmed my brakes still had about 75% life left. Whether Berkeley Minicar is wildly incompetent or actively trying to rip people off, neither option is good. I cannot say this clearly enough: avoid this shop.

I’ve been going to Berkeley Minicar since 1979 and continue to buy Hondas so I can have my servicing done there. This time it was a minor tune-up and as always the interaction with the front desk was pleasant and the work to be done was clearly stated, the price was reasonable, and the results were stellar. Highly recommended!

Staff at Berkeley Minicar are very responsible and thorough. They will do a simple oil change, check all appropriate parts of the car, and advise you what needs to be repaired or replaced urgently or later. They are prompt. Added benefit, once can walk across the street for beverage and meal or awesome dessert at Café Chiave on Dwight & San Pablo Avenue while waiting for the car service to be completed. Prices more reasonable that at the dealer.

I had to find a new place to solve my electrical problem when the shop is had been going to turned me away. I read Minicar reviews and took a chance. Glad I did. They have a high level of customer service and expertise. Car fixed and on my way. Relief!

I was having problems with my radio being taken over by ads, The folks at Berkeley Mini Car were willing to look at it and help me for no charge unless they fixed it. That fact alone shows what a customer focused community business they are.

Berkeley Minicar charged a reasonable price for installation of new headlight assemblies to replace the fogged over original ones on a 2006 Pilot. This makes it look much newer and brightens the light beams. For years I’ve trusted them to do proper repairs and maintenance to keep this vehicle and another Honda running well.

I needed standard motor oil & oil filter change. Plus overall annual check-up for my Camry. Everything was good. 215.70 charge. Been coming here for years. Will continue to come.

Had an expensive repair done at a reasonable price in comparison to what the dealership service was asking. I dropped off a dirty car that was wiped down, and also received a free headlight treatment. The garage employees are professional, courteous, and the service done was completed with the utmost care.

I love Berkeley minicar. Their appt service i very easy to use and they have a key drop off so you can be quickly on your way. Close to transit so you can get back to work. service was quick and great communication throughout. Very reasonable rates.

I had some brake pads rubbing on the rotors and they got me in and out the same day I called. Changed both from and back pads, rotors, oil change and cleaned out my sunroof drain. Work was done right and same day service. Very happy!

I've been bringing my Hondas here for at least 30 years. It was recommended by a friend. When her car was stolen, she bought a Honda just so she could continue to go to this place. I still go to Berkeley Minicar even though I now live in Pleasant Hill. I bought the extra-distance towing insurance with AAA so I could be sure I could tow my car to them (which I thankfully haven't needed). When my catalytic converter was stolen (from my second Honda), I had to buy a new Honda (long story), and service was done for a couple of years by the Honda dealer. They kept trying to get me to have things done that did not need getting done. I could hardly wait to get back to Berkeley Minicar. In the meantime, the company's ownership changed. I was wondering how much the place had changed. But it's still warm and welcoming and they did a wonderful service on the car. It was a pleasure dealing with them.

Outstanding service. I’ve been using Berkeley Minicar for over 10 years. Honest ownership led by Andres. Andres went out of his way to help recently with substandard catalytic convertors that had been installed through my insurance company and failed twice . With his help and expertise I was able to recover the costs and replace with a reliable Honda part. Excellent and very knowledgeable mechanics - Brian is excellent. Helpful office team always happy help, in particular Christian. You can’t go wrong with Berkeley Minicar. Highly recommended.

I was very grateful for two things at Berkeley Minicar. The first was that they were open and I could bring my car to the shop in the middle of a very hectic Christmas season and they had it ready for me Christmas Eve day! I've been going to Berkeley Minicar since 2018 for my 2016 Honda Fit and I've always received excellent service. I always go for regular maintenance when my car's service check info comes on. My car is now at over 120,000 miles and running smoothly without any major issues. Berkeley Minicar has often told me about things I should get checked or keep an eye on without being pushy for an immediate sales, which makes me trust their opinions and come back regularly.
