Everyone is friendly and responds to customers questions. Very well organized and maintained. Not concerned about flat tires. Glad I live close by.

Easy to work with people that are friendly and knowledgeable. In and out time was quick. They do write checks with a hour delay time, for the people that don't know. But no problem getting it cashed.

I would like to first come off and say that the manager savanna there is the nicest person you will ever meet. If you have a problem that needs solved she is very resourceful and will make sure you have all that you need. This place is definitely the place to go if you need to recycle things. They give you respect and your money worth of the items.

This place SUUUCKS. The ladies (if that's what you want to call them) are so rude for no apparent reason! Lol. It's very odd.

Extreme crooks. Had #1 copper got paid for #2. Wouldn't listen to arguments because the copper had already been mixed in

Not as big, nor organized as the one in Tarrant/Pinson area( this facility is now much closer for me & my husband), but they have a much better & quicker can drop off... Dripping scrap is a little tight. But, device has almost always been quick, often helpful and nice!

I’ve been taking all my scrap metal to Saginaw Recycling for a good while now usually once a week on average, some months it ends up being three trips over a two week period. At any rate, I’ve been there and dealt with the people who work there more than a few times and have always been treated right, had a pleasant experience and always left there feeling like I was done fairly. I’ve been to quite a few scrap yards over the years in Birmingham alone from a few in Bessemer to Finley Blvd. to several just east of town and will always drive out of my way if I have to and go to Saginaw Recycling instead. Anyone who scraps or has scrapped various metals knows it’s very easy for the yard to take advantage of the situation and refuse to pay what you’re really owed for what type metal you actually have. Or pay you much less because you didn’t strip everything down and separate everything exclusively to their liking. I never get that feeling of being taken advantage of from Saginaw Recycling and never worry about getting cheated when I go there. These are just a few of the reasons they acquired my repeat business and I’m quite sure other people in the same situation feel the same way and use them on a regular basis just as I do.

I’ve been going here for years both to sell scraps and to buy scrap iron for welding projects. The staff have always been courteous to me, but then, I’m always courteous to them too. Sure, you can get your shoes dirty there, but it’s an outdoor scrap yard. Wear boots, Karen. On days there’s only 2 or 3 people working - one at the counter, one driving heavy equipment, and one cleaning copper - you’ll have to load or unload by yourself. But then, you got the scraps in your truck by yourself to get there and you happily check yourself out at Walmart so no harm done, right? I recommend this place regularly to my buddies looking for welding material. I’ve bought trailers to rebuild, car parts and gears for art and outdoor furniture projects, leaf springs for blacksmithing, it’s a gold mine for industrial artists. This place caters to blue collar workers disposing of project material. It’s exactly what you’d reasonably expect. There’s no valet service or free coffee in a cushy lobby, just weigh your scraps, unload, drive back on the scale, get paid, and get back to work.

All I know is I am so very thankful these are honest people. I left my wallet on the counter with $900 in it and did not realize until hours later. When I came back they had the wallet and returned it to me with all the money still there.

By far the worst customer service I’ve ever dealt with in my life and on top of that I had to Load and unload all my stuff on and off the scales by myself. Then they attempted to cheat me out of a few dollars by writing down the wrong thing. And worst of all is there prices, I could’ve gone 15 miles up the road and made $67 more. Will never go there again and I would be surprised if they even have return customers it was that bad. Do you think with horrible prices they would at least have good customer service but their prices and customer service run hand-in-hand. Worst place ever.

I wish I could give no stars. They do not value their customers or give them respect. They are all rude and disrespectful. Had my window down while my African American husband was unloading and heard several racist slurs being directed at him. People like them shouldn't be allowed to run a business.

Prices are terrible. Rude staff Aluminum wheel - $7.00 per ( $.50/lbs average) Aluminum radiator - $.25/lbs ( $.30/lbs average) Car batteries - $2.00 per ( $.20/lbs average) Scrap steel - $.06/lbs ( $.07/lbs average) Drive 20 more minutes to Circle K Scrap Metal for prices that actually compete with downtown birmingham and staff is friendly and helpful.

Terrible idea going here go to Birmingham the scrap prices at this place are ridiculous. I thought scrap yards were supposed to weigh what you bring in and give you cash depending on the weight of the scrap. A flat rate of 7 bucks per aluminium rim is crazy to me do not go to this place you'll regret it

No one to help with anything wire I have brought for over 10 years now the won't take it. Will start going to Birmingham now since they pay you a lot more than these guys. I just have been going there due to how close they were to me. They are losing a lot of people due to things like this.

After multiple trips to the recycling facility I notice the amount of money paid for similar size loads had decreased consistently. During my last visit I discovered a sign in the window, saying prices may be changed at their discretion. The staff acts as though it is a burden to answer questions, or provide any kind of assistance.

Terrible, I showed up at 4:15, they close at 4:30....the lady told me " sorry, we gots to get home he, he. Go somerselse. Yes one word. Terrible people, and they fix there scales. Take a lb. Get 1/2 a lb. Red freaking necks...what do you expect though. Terrible , the only reason I bring my stuff here is cause it's so close.....awful...I wish there was something less than 1 star.

I have to agree with one of the other posts. The lady at the front is rude. Didn't even say hello. Asked me what do you need? I was just told go on the scale wait buzzer, go dump ,get back on scale. So I go to dump my stuff try and wave some girl down. She ignores me. Then I find a place to get my truck into some guy in an excavator start yelling for me to back my truck in a mud hole. I tried to ask him if I could put it in the bucket of his excavator he just yells just leave it nevermind. Go back to the front she hands you your money through the window box. Tells you your amount and turns her back to the window. Southern kindness is not at this place. I could of just paid Lowe's 15 dollars to pick this stuff u and been better off. I was going to ask about getting some propane from her. But obviously she don't need my business. I won't be back. I don't see how you stay in business. Best of luck to you

They wanted to give me $7.50 for a Aluminuum Wheel even though scrap Aluminum goes for $.50 a pound with a 60 pound wheel....that didn't matter to them. I said that I have aluminum radiators that I want to scrap as well and she would give me $.30 a pound. I asked I thought Aluminum was $.50 a pound she said that everywhere else it might be LOL....what a bunch of thieves. I'll just go to Birmingham, no problem. The lady at the front is rude by the way they'll never get my business

Very rude girl working the desk. They tried to rip me off . I will never go there again. I don't suggest anyone go there. How low class can a place get? They can show you! Good luck

I had a good experience with Saginaw today. The employees were friendly and helpful and I was in and out quickly. I was a little confused when I arrived since it was my first time there. When you enter the front gates, you'll see a metal ramp on the left side of the scrap yard. Just drive up on the metal scale and wait until you hear a loud buzzer sound. Then drive back into the scrap yard, unload your metal and repeat the process of weighing on the scale. If you have any aluminum cans, you dump them on a conveyor belt that is near the weighing scale. From now on, when I have scrap metal to sell, I'll come to Saginaw Recycling
