I used Google maps to get there, it’d been eons since I last took anything there… only brought what I thought was a heavy brass and copper spitoon—,nobody wanted it (-and I tried!)
Praying the whole time my tires weren’t getting cut up from metal shards on the sand roads … no signs showing where to go.
Once I located the right building, had a chat with the guys inside , who pointed out that the very ugly spitoon was steel, neither copper nor brass, got my chit for $3 and found the tiny shack where the chit was swapped for cash.
Clearly the place isn’t designed for crazy ol ladies , but it does the job!
Attempted to call and ask for information about the cash for junk cars service, but the lady on the phone was very quick to get me off the phone. She didn't give me any information, I had to ask every question. And each question I asked, she sounded noticeably irritated. If you don't like your job, then get a new one but don't take it out on the customers.
Idk why this place only has a 3.something rating, they are the bomb! 1st time scrapping & they showed me everything I needed to know & _______ was especially helpful!
absolutely worst scrap yard ive visited. prices are way lower than anyone else and everyone in that building is just rude. they dont act like they wanna be there so dont show up to work. i called this morning to check the prices and ask if they take cars before i went all the way up there and as i was saying thank you she hung up like she had better things to do. so low. i do not recommend going
I’ve been going to S&A for years to recycle my scrap metals because they are always fair, and pay the highest prices for scrap in the city. Carlos has been there since I started going back in 2020 and he has always been so helpful and friendly. He went out of his way to help me tell the difference between some metals which is why I trust S&A to handle any question I have honestly.
Called up there for a price. The lady that answered the didn’t sound friendly or welcoming at all or like she wanted to be bothered. No customer service and was quick to hang up the phone.
So I'd never been there before right. But I know how to scrapyard. It's not hard. But each yards different. The lady inside interrupted her lunch to serve me, and made sure to give me adequate directions versus just letting me figure it out. Made my anxiety dip right tf out. Great place.
Every one of the staff members I come across were very friendly except the two women in the office that hand you the money they are the most inconsiderate rude people I've ever dealt with in my life I think. I wish she would get fired so I wouldn't have to see her face ever again I was boiling mad but you can't do anything to a mouthy lady behind the glass more than likely she's a keyboard warrior too
The amount of money that they are giving for scrap is highway robbery. You come in with a truck load of stuff and they give you 17 - 30 dollars. It makes it not worth the work nor the trouble. I know they are getting way more money than they are giving out. I don't think that is right. You have people taking all this time to save cans and things and you get nothing for your work.
Everyone is nice and very helpful.I go in every day and they are all working hard. Your lucky to have the people you have .Take care of them and keep them!!!!...Do not want to deal with anyone else Thank you!!!...This place is alot safer than sable steel!!!!
I Called and was told that they closed at 11:30. I arrived there at 11:10 with an employee shutting the gate saying they are not allowing anyone else in. Four other cars where also denied. It appears they don't value their customers.
HIGHLY RACIST STAFF!!! IN PARTICULAR THE MANAGER AND LITTLE BLONDE LADY IN OFFICE!!! Very rude and highly disrespectful to the BLACK!!!!!customers. I have been a victim several times. They try to hide it but their true colors have been made known in the way they treat their customers. If you are reading this and feel this way, say something and post a review to stop them from treating the customers this way.
On one hand they look down on the very customers they need to keep them employed. They feel like we are all unemployed and uneducated, and think we don't have enough sense to say anything back. On the other hand, they manifest a highly jealous spirit of the customers who are making more money than them. That's their job and they can't take it out on the customer. The only reason a lot of people are even going to SA is because of where it is located. Just let another company move into the area. This company will go out of business. These two people will cause this company to go out of business.
My first time at a scrap yard the girl up front was very helpful and polite. Showed me about the process. Friendly guys in uniforms upfront. We will be back.
Either their business hours need to be updated or they have been closing early. Multiple times I've came all the way there and had a couple hours before they close and they was already closed down and gone.
The best scrap yard in the area with the best, number #1 top end manager. I always take my scrap here. The look at their faces and the way they greet you with open arms and smiles makes my day. No wonder they are the best with a staff like that. They must have had a great manager who just handed everything over to them.
RUDE UNHELPFUL staff who brake your property. This place came highly recommend but I don't know why & will never use them again. I understand using the claw to unload can cause damage, however if used correctly it should not! I mean if it was normal to damage people's property it wouldn't be used as often. Anyhow operator was dragging junk off & tore off the back of our trailer NO it does not have a gate that got in the way. If he would have just picked up I few inches it wouldn't have happened. But wasn't as mad until I told staff & their response was "You read the signs your problem! " But my first words were it's not a big deal but this happened & just, then I got is nasty attitude & comment. Didn't want anything but to bring it to their attention so it might could be avoided from happening again. Now to the unhelpful issue. We pull in 4 guys just looking at us doesn't say a word. We have no clue what to do so ask & we got " Pull back there" well it's a big back there with several different spots of junk piles. Don't know which one to go to no one around to ask. Had to go ask up front where exactly do you want us to go, we have never been here. Again we get back there. The claw operator yells at us from the cabin & helps us. We didn't need the money bad enough to be treated like that. I would have rather taken it to the free haul off this Saturday & let someone else worry with it.
