Took my vehicle to 3541 Malcolm Dr Montgomery AL due to gear shift linkage system broke. After paying $367, I have the same issue immediately once I got home in Montgomery. I noticed a zip tie was used to hold the arm in place. Cousin did a quick fix so I could get back home to Crestview FL. Took it to Pep Boys in Crestview FL. They stated the arm needed to replaced. I paying another $227 for the arm to be replaced. Crestview location get 4 stars. Montgomery location gets below 1 star. Putting a zip tie on something then charging $367 is unacceptable.
Came in for an unknown issue with my tire. They got me up and running in no time, removing a 3 inch nail. I appreciate their professionalism and knowledge. Ask for Rod or Jay.
We were heading back to Indiana from Florida when we ran over a nail in a parking lot. Pep Boys on Malcolm Road was the nearest tire place, and we're so happy it was! Phillip and Patrick took such good care of us and didn't get annoyed about our fussing baby. They were quick, efficient, and so friendly. If we lived 400 miles closer, this would definitely be our favorite auto service center!
They was supposed to open at 7:00 nobody shop toll 7:45 just for them to tell me my car can't get an oil changed till 8:45 because workers want be in till that time
I was coming through Montgomery from Florida on my way home to Atlanta and was having issues with my brakes, on my Ram 3500/hotshot truck with trailer. The guys accessed the problem and took care of everything I needed. Mind you, they had to use a floor jack because of the size of my truck and that didn’t stop them. Roosevelt and Cordaiz went about and beyond(in the rain) and I would definitely use them again if I’m in the area and need service! Thanks guys P.S Everyone worked as a unit. From the front end to the service area.
Usually have a good experience, but lately, simply I’ll say they are driven by the money they’ll get from you not really fixing the issue. They made me pay almost 500 dollars in inspections and all, just to say they can’t fix my issue. They kept my car all day just to squeeze that labor money out of me. Trust I won’t be back.
I got a flat tire in my Tesla on a long drive from NC to TX. Not many shops around here were open on Sunday and had the lift necessarily to change a flat tire on a Tesla. Fortunately, Patrick and this Pep Boys location were very accommodating. I was in and out quickly, and they saved my trip! Patrick especially was so friendly and prioritized that we'd be back on the road quickly.
Would give ZERO stars if I could. I made an appointment for a tire repair at 12. My husband arrived at approximately 11:30. He sat around until almost 1. He was then told that they didn’t have time to do the work that day. I had to be at work at 2 so no time to go elsewhere. Extremely poor service. This was third time appointment wasn’t honored. Three strikes and I’m done either you. Got an email asking me did I want to reschedule since I had to cancel. Absolutely NOT!!!!
So thankful for Pepboys! We were traveling home to Ky from Dauphin Beach last Saturday and had a flat tire. Found Pepboys on line and called them late in the afternoon to see if they had a tire and they were wonderful. They not only had a tire but even though they were busy they were waiting on us when we arrived and were very quick about getting us back on the road. The southern hospitality we received was amazing. Patrick was the nicest and kindest man and the staff was amazing! Thank you folks for everything. If you need anything call them you won’t be disappointed. Thanks again Patrick and staff! This Ky family sure did appreciate you all!
Wish I could leave 0 stars. I called the day before because a check engine light came on. The person working there told me to come in at 7:30am get it checked out by the technician. I show up the next day at 07:30am and the place isn't open. Someone finally shows up and opens up at 08:00am. I tell him about the appointment and give him my keys then I leave. I call the shop back around 01:00pm. Someone picks up and I ask them about the car. The person puts me on hold for 20 minutes. He finally comes back and tells me that the technician went to lunch and that he will call me back with an update in 40 minutes. 40 minutes pass and I receive no call. I start calling every hour on the hour and no one at the shop picks up my calls at all. I had to show up 10 minutes before closing because they never answered their phone. The person working there gave me my keys and tells me that the technician actually called off of work that day. Not only did these guys lie to me in the earlier phone call but they completely wasted my time and kept my car there for absolutely no reason. Stay away from here. I'll never come to a pepboys ever again after this.
We are very disappointed with our experience. My wife called ahead of time to get a quote on an oil change. She specified the year, make and model, and informed the gentleman that she had a coupon for $20.00 off. Upon completion of the service, she was told that the price was (ironically) $20 higher because our vehicle took additional oil- less than 1 quart actually. What this means is that they did not communicate effectively and/or we were charged an additional $20 for eight tenths of a quart of synthetic oil that costs $6 at any parts store.
Jay and the Pep Boys crew treated us so well in Montgomery. We were traveling from Iowa to Florida when we started having brake issues. I had the brake pads and stuck caliper replaced at a Birmingham Pep Boys. Unfortunately, the new caliper was also sticking. Even though we arrived at 5pm on a Friday without an appointment, Jay did not discard my concern, got us in, looked at the problem, ordered parts and fixed the brakes all before closing and it was all covered under the warranty. I cannot thank Jay and this staff enough for the service and professionalism.
No one loves getting car repairs. But Patrick was very professional...Perry- the technician was knowledgeable and honest. It was nice to leave with repairs done correctly, without feeling taken advantage of or concerns about workmanship.
Perry, and Patrick did an amazing job!! The service was outstanding as well as the people!! They both made life so much easier and explained things so well!! I’m so happy I brought my vehicle to them!!

I couldn't recommend Pep Boys on Malcom Drive enough! I have twice; once for battery replacement on a Grand Jeep Cherokee and second for my Honda Civic to be looked at. The staff, especially Patrick, are so friendly and informative. Being not from Montgomery, I was worried about where I could take my cars and I am so glad I chose this Pep Boys location.
Awesome service! Phillip does great work and Patrick was superb. Went in for TPMS errors. (Which were quickly fixed when two trips to another Pep Boys didn't resolve the problem.). Phillip discovered the previously mentioned Pep Boys mounted the two passenger side tires backwards. This kind of honesty is rare and will keep me coming back to this particular store.
Come to this store FIRST for your automotive needs.
I was on the interstate coming from Huntsville, and I had an eighteen wheeler that had a blowout, and the tire tore, the under covering of my car off, I went into pep boys too, have it removed and Mr.Patrick What's standing At the front service desk stated to me that he only had one person working and he had given him a lunch. He directed me to Atlanta highway, where I had had a bad experience with customer service. So I told Mr. Patrick that I would wait for, the associate to return Upon returning, mister, Philip immediately got down on his knees and on the ground without lifting my car up to remove the piece of plastic. I will always be going to this Pepboys Auto til The customer service turns me somewhere else. They are awesome and superb, and on point get you in and out
Great job! I got an oil change done today it took about 45 minutes but I didn’t mind the wait because I showed up 15 minutes prior to my appointment. The customer service was great, and I believe his name was Jay, but he was so kind and made the process as smooth as possible for me. 10/10 recommend this location!
Pep Boys has excellent customer service. Everyone is very professional and friendly. I came in for a lot beam replacement and they were able to accommodate very quickly. If you need tires or repairs please come by and see Jay or Brandon they will take good care of you.
I was passing by Montgomery, Alabama on my way to San Antonio, Texas. I got my tire blown up and then I requested a tow to take me to the closest Pep boys. Thank God for the guys who work here. Jay customer service was exceptional he was very kind, honest and professional. I thought I was going to leave with this hard situation unresolved since no one could exchange this tire due to having key locks on each of the tires (something the previous owner didn't warned us about, what a headache has been). So imagine my frustration when my tire couldn't be replaced with the spare. But Jay found a way which I'm really thankful for. I had to leave my truck there for several days and they take well care of it and fix in less than an hour. Thanks for Not giving up Jay! We need more trustworthy people like him. Please someone give him a raise!
