I offered to help a neighbor get rid of a bunch of scrap metal at their place. The day before I went to a larger competitor in the area with a load.. and it was a fine visit, however, very very dangerous due to the sheer volume of heavy machines moving in a choreographed dance of sharp, heavy metal. On the way out of the competitor's yard, I noticed a sign in huge letters saying "not responsible for damage to vehicles by cranes unloading scrap." My heart dropped. My 2006 tahoe with a 5x8 trailer in tow is not a scrap hauler. One false move in that other establishment and I could have lost it all. I am thankful I came out unscathed. On the way home I happened to catch, out of the corner of my eye, M & D Scrap Metal on Schillinger Rd. so I told myself I would stop by on my way back out with another load. I was pleasantly surprised this morning when the owner was there before opening time with the gates already open and ready for business. He was on the phone however he immediately put the call on hold and answered the questions I had on how the system worked at M & D. I can tell these are good people and very knowledgeable in their expertise. The scales are very nice. The operation is organized. The process was quick, safe and painless. The location is phenomenal. The pay was comparable to that other larger place ( but I saved an hour, 20 minutes each way and gas expense ) and didn't have to pay a dump fee, instead, I got PAID! Quickly and with no hassle and one of the most sincere Thank Yous I have received from anybody in several years. Mr. O'Neal is his name. Thank You so much Sir! 5 Stars
