Nice historic military installation and home to one of the nation's ICBM units. If you have base access, check out the museum and keep an eye out for the protected antelope.
The most consistently disappointing gates I’ve ever been to. Need a pass? Plan on waiting an hour and a half just for them to turn you away for printer issues. This has happened multiple times. Very frustrating.
The Security Forces unit here should adopt the football bat as their mascot - cuz that's about how useful they are. They arbitrarily close gates without any announcement or compunction for all the people on base it affects. Then when they have to do anything remotely law enforcement related they don't know how to cop and have to call the Sheriff's Office everytime.
Enjoyed every moment. My daughter was born there in 1971. So much to see in the area. Everyone we knew was so nice. My daughter got a to see it and was able to take some photos. She also got to learn some of it's rich history. Of course she had to visit a few more times.
I got to ride in a Wells Fargo stagecoach.MUCH FUN when you're 6 months pregnant. Haha.

We live locally and are so happy to have access to a base. I've been to nicer bases with more amenities, but for the size and location, you couldn't ask for much more here at FEW. I've never lived in, but have seen in & out a variety of base housing and it all appears to be fairly nice, neighborhood parks all over. A few things available on base are BX/Commissary, GNC, Subway, Dunkin' Donuts, base theater, dry cleaner, barber, a tactical gear store, fam-camp, fishing ponds, great chow hall, bowling, golf, outdoor rec, education center, mechanic, gas station, hotel, library, swim pool, two nice gyms with 24hr access, and more.
Spent alot of time on this base. I loved the library the most, the staff esp the asian lady was very kind. She would save me the free books as she knew how much I love to read. The movie theater was ok when it worked haha. Anthony's pizza was nice and tasty. Loved the BK, BX, and commissary as well. There are alot of antelope which are nice to photo. The gym was top notch with an in door track.i know the BX was small as were alot of the facilities here but for me it has a great feeling of nostalgia
I LIKE Cheyenne AND I like FEWAFB! Tho as a retired Army Infantryman I have nothing in common with the mission here, like most western military facilities, FEW feels safe, comfortable and kinda like home.
