A good local shop. I didn't have an appointment, but they were able to fit me in. Courteous and knowledgeable.

Worst mechanic shop I've ever had to deal with they replaced my alternator and it immediately went out they replaced it again and the battery warning light came back on the same day,after that they held onto my veliche for 4 days and wouldn't not return my calls or give any updates so after 4 days I went and took my veliche back and it was fixed at another shop within 3 hours of dropping it off it turns out alwins was using the wrong type of alternator and I'm out almost 1000 bucks, there staff is unprofessional and was very rude terrible experience I wouldn't bring anything to there shop even if it was my last resort.wish there was an option for 0 stars. I will be taking them to small claims court.

I was in town for work and my vehicles belt broke. Alwins was able to get me in quickly and fixed it in quickly. I was very happy with the price as well! They were also very friendly and as a female, it was nice not being talked to like I was an idiot. Thanks for the great service and getting me back on the road!

Alwins saved the day for me earlier this week - my car completely died while running errands (had a trunk full of groceries) - they came and jumped my car within 20 minutes, plus replaced the battery at the shop within another 20 minutes - all for a reasonable price - they were great!

Blew a hose fitting on 94. Took around 20 minutes to have a flatbed arrive, which was nice because I had groceries in my vehicle and my kids were just getting home from school. For a flatbed the price was fair and comparable to others I've used in the area. I just needed it towed home and did the repair myself. Based on my experience I wouldn't hesitate to have them do the work in their shop if needed.

I was looking for a local shop that could give my mopar 318ci some extra life. It runs like a champ now and looks purdy too.

This mechanic shop is great. They were generous to tow my vehicle even though it was outside their general range. They were honest and upfront with what was wrong, and they called the dealership of my vehicle to find a warranty that I was able to use for my engine being fixed! They also towed it to the Hyundai dealership in Minnesota! I am so thankful for them!

I highly recommend Alwins, they changed the spark plugs on my truck and done before noon and they were half the price of a dealership. They might be small and hard to get an appointment sometimes, but they are very good and fast!

I needed my brakes fixed. I brought it in the morning and they got it done the same day. I thought the price was reasonable. They also did a oil change for me,I highly recommend this place. I think they went out of their way to help me.

They lied to me and charged me $1650 to not do what I asked them to do. I had a duel carb intake I wanted removed and have one of my single intake manifold and one of my other carbs installed. After 9 days I called and they told me “the carb you brought us doesn’t work right, the car won’t stay running and the adjusting pins aren’t doing anything. So we are going to put one of the other carbs on so we can do the linkage. Should be done in a day or two.” They called two days later telling me it’s $1800 because they have 13 hours into it. They claim they rebuilt the carb, new linkage, and air cleaner (which I didn’t need a new one. One of the two they already had of mine would have been fine.) We paid cash, so they removed, what I believe was credit card fees, so the total was $1650. I went to pick the car up and they rebuilt & installed the wrong carb. The one I wanted installed was still in the box. I called them the next day and they told me that the other carb could not be installed because they would have had to get new linkage. It wouldn’t work with what was there. (I told them they might need linkage when I made the appointment) My linkage bracket was still installed when I picked it up, so I do I know what linkage I paid for? I then removed the correct carb from the box to find the fuel line hose I cut off was still attached to the carb. They lied to me saying they installed it and it didn’t work. So. I picked up the car, spent 1 hour removing the old carb and installed the carb I wanted without issue. All the brackets, linkage, everything was the same and worked just fine. It was a simple swap. The car fired right up and ran fine. It came out of a 289 so I adjusted it a little and put 50 miles on it without problems. They lied to me about multiple things and I honestly feel like they stole my money. In the pictures below are… how the car is hooked to the carb, the fuel line I cut off that was still there, and the duel carb pic is (left carb) the carb that couldn’t be installed due to “linkage issues”, (right carb) the carb that they installed. It was an easy swap. I was robbed.

Brought my truck in for a exhaust fix, was recommended by another shop, went over everything that I had concerns about with my exhaust with the mechanic that worked there when I dropped it off, didn't have a budget, just wanted the leaks in the exhaust fixed being I have a 4 month old that rides in the truck and the exhaust gasses were getting into the cab of the truck. Dropped my truck off Wed. Evening, got a call to pick it up the next day around 4pm. They not only didn't fix any of the leaks, but they charged me 200$ for "the work they did". I called them the next day (friday) to ask them exactly what I was being charged the 200$ for being there was nothing that was done. (After I crawled under the truck to inspect why I still heard a leak) a different mechanic said he didn't know what exactly was done and would have the guy who "worked" on my truck to call me back... never got a phone call back... worst shop I've ever been to and dealt with... thanks for taking 200$ for doing absolutely nothing...

I've been to Alwins several times for repairs and I believe that each time I got fair treatment and honest assments of what needed to repaired. One time I had a work vehicle I needed to get back on the quick and they were very accommodating. I recommend Alwin's, I think they are fair and honest. Why not 5 stars? Because they do the same thing everybody else. The markup on parts is near criminal. Everybody does it so....

I had last minute exhaust issues right before a very busy weekend. I called immediately on Saturday morning and they were able to get me in and have repairs done within a few hours. Awesome customer service and they charged me an extremely reasonable price. Will definitely use in the future if needed.

So impressed with Alwins! I called 3 other tire places, none of which could fix my leaking tire until Thursday. Took it in to Alwins and they fixed it within 30-45 minutes, and the price was way cheaper than expected! Will definitely be giving them my business again. So grateful for their willingness to help me on short notice.

Don't look further, this business in the best in their field! Brought my car in to be diagnosed due to an antifreeze leak at 3:30 on a Thursday afternoon, received a call back at 9am Friday morning. The leak was the water pump and recommended that the timing chain be replaced. They called at 4:30 Friday afternoon and the work was completed!! Picked up the car, worked great and when I got home I realized the car had been washed!!

My wife and I found Alwin’s a while back through their incredibly-run Facebook Page, and their great Google and Yelp reviews. Over the years, we have taken our Ford Escape, our F-150, and Jeep Grand Cherokee to Alwin’s several times. Between new brakes, new tires, oil changes, and overall inspections, they are always honest, friendly, helpful, and do a fantastic job.

Very good, quick and honest service. I wouldn't hesitate to send my wife or mother here. I have had minor and major repairs done here and you can't beat the turnaround time and the fair price. They also support our military and first responders. If we bring our vehicles here, it's the place to go.

Had a flat tire and needed a tow early one morning a few months ago. Asked them to check the tires. Didn't receive a call, so called them at noon for an update. I was informed they had put 4 brand new tires on without my consent. I had to talk to them about 5 times to even get the information needed to make a decision. I was so disappointed by the entire situation that I paid for a new tire and the tow and took my car somewhere else for 4 new tires. I was really looking forward to supporting a local small business, but wouldn't give them another dime. Hoping this was an unfortunate situation that doesn't happen often.

I ended up in a ditch during that first snow of the year this November. Dave from Alwins was incredibly helpful, working around the sign I took down and all the brush around my car. He got there fast, was kind, calm, and very knowledgeable, pulling my car out without any issues despite the odd angle I had managed to end up at! I highly recommend, though I wouldn't hope this situation on anybody :)

Although they were kind, they took over an hour with a scheduled appointment and cost more than a instant 15 minute oil change. Also, left my driving wheel greasy and my door handles. With my busy lifestyle, time is valuable to me and this isn't for me. Thank you for the experience though.

These guys went FAR above & beyond to help me out. The cost of my repairs was significantly less than I had expected which was a very pleasant surprise beyond their exceptional service. I can't thank them enough. I'll definitely be back & would highly recommend them. It's rare to find people like this anymore.

Dave and his crew did an excellent job with a tune up and oil change on my car. Had the job done quick and at a fair price. Car is running great! Highly recommend!

I have been a customer and taken my vehicles to Alwin's since they purchased and owned the business back in the 1990's. I have taken every vehicle there plus family vehicles and have received impeccable service, quality workmanship, and honesty. Once in a while you run across an owner mechanic that can trouble shoot your problems and work with you to manage the costs. Alwin is one such owner. I have tried other companies and after one instance of taking a vehicle to two separate service companies I ended back at Alwin's. He finally fixed it and it cost half of what the other two companies charged. DUH!

We all know its difficult to find a car repair place you can trust! They are far and few between. This is definitely the one for hudson! They do good work at a fair price, and never pull the add-on stuff that most shops will do. Expect quality work here and a fair price.
