Customer service rep was knowledgeable on the phone and answered by question no problem. Much better experience than when I tried to call another recycling facility in Schofield WM where I couldn’t get through to a human.
Pull me into a bay only to tell me I have to move two bays over? First and last time here FYI I CAME IN WITH A TRUCK BED FULL OF COPPER. All the doors were closed litterly the parking area in front of doors congested with trucks,vans waiting to get inside the bays ,finally get pulled into a bay i was litterly the only truck in this 3 or 4 bay pole building(with countless trucks and vans sitting in the parking area in Front of the pole building waiting to get in )guys standing around looking clueless?? Very poorly ran after they pulled me in being how this entire pole building was empty instead of being lazy the worker could have walked over and grabbed a cart bucket or whatever but instead I was told to waste more of my time (after waiting 15 mins to get in)and restart my diesel truck and move it over 10 ft ?? Very very poorly ran and very very lazy employees period. Iam a contractor money is not an issue for me the truck bed full of copper i came with was from the last couple months of jobs ive done , this place like any other scrap place make money off of the metals that are brought into them otherwise they wouldnt do it period. Like I said this was my first time here and will be my last time here ,wasted my time very poorly ran iam not going to be treated like my time doesnt matter and iam not going to beg someone to make money off of me and what iam bringing in yall can say goodbye to this truckload of copper and you can thank the lazy employee you have out there the older fella iam taking this load of copper to yaegers where I should have went like I usually do ... people believe the negative reviews on here everybody can't be wrong
I've been going this scrap yard for awhile now, and I couldn't be happier! They consistently offer some of the best rates in town, which makes a real difference. Plus, the ladies at the front desk are incredibly friendly and always make the process smooth and easy.

Alter Metal Recycling is just what you need for scrap metal needs but with worse signage. If you don’t know what you’re doing you’re going to be confused like I was, drive to the pay station, and then kindly get told to go to bay D and take your pipes there. Of course you won’t make much, but it’s good to get ride of stuff here. Conveniently placed, not so conveniently laid out. The pay station workers were so kind though!
The guys collecting aluminum were the grumpiest guys. Not even a smile or a good morning. The lady in the office was sweet and pleasant. Thus 2 stars instead of 1.
This place has a nice little scam going. I lost out on $2.50 after their machine paid me for my aluminum cans. Never again will I do business here. I now see their post below. What a joke, so you can learn more? What does that mean? You know your scamming people, and instead of making it right, you go about it that way. COMPLETE. INSANITY.
If I could give a 0 star review I would. Very disappointed that a so-called “reputable” business would take advantage of people for $20. Make sure you are educated on their policies for scrapping aluminum because they apparently operate quite differently than any other scrap yard. What should’ve been at least a $30 aluminum rim payout was $3.94! When I called to ask why it was classified as “breakage” rather than aluminum scrap, I was told it was because there was a small plastic sensor still attached which the man in the shop never explained even when we brought it up. The rim was clean, free of debris and the tire was removed. I’m not even going to get into the weight of the rest of the items which were 99% sure was understated to say the least. All they had to do was make it right but $20 is too important to them.
Jeff and Joe are both crooks docking over half an end dump load of steel for having less than 10% concrete in it. Better off driving the extra time to take it to Alter in Medford.
The price Wasn't worth the time taking it in let alone picking it up. Just take it to one of the many other places who assess the hundreds of loads a year at 10-15%.
Great employee service until you get to the office. I have never had a pleasant experience with the office lady. Love going to recycle here other than the customer service the office.
The place is pretty much useless they post a time of 4:00 pm to close well I was there at 3:50 and they turned me away so needless to say I will never go there again.
They seem to have some of the better prizes in town for aluminum and theirs check in and payment system is fast and painless. I try to take my cans here whenever possible.
