Going to car shops as a woman can be intimidating, but I appreciate that the staff is always respectful and don’t try to overcharge me or be deceptive, which has happened at other places. Thank you!
Angel handled my problem as well as anyone could. Not only did I have a valve tire leak but the lug nuts on my vehicle had swelled and wouldn’t come off. He told me they could look at it the same day. He took care of all my problems and kept me informed of everything that was going on. I was charged a very fair price. I would certainly come here again. Thank you to Angel and everyone who worked on my vehicle.
The crew at Great American Tire & Auto Repair are awesome. Had a vehicle inspection before buying and found the inspection to be very thorough and worth every fair priced penny. They also did some brake work and flushed out the coolant. They got me back on the road quickly and again felt the pricing was fair. I will be doing business with them again. Thanks guys!
Team here is fantastic. I took my truck in initially to get valve stems replaced on my truck because every cold weather the tires got low. I also wanted to get a quote on some suspension replacement. So I scheduled an appointment for another day to look at it. Got here early they got it in early. Crow definitely knows there stuff and material. Along with being price reasonable and accommodating. Moving to the area I am happy to finds a local mechanic I trust again.
Not only was the front desk - Kyle extremely friendly - but accommodating! He made me want to buy tires from him! The place is clean, smells amazing, and wait very comfortable! I will always go here - so many service- and putting word out to the family to come as well!
The young man ( Angel) ,who assisted me yesterday was very helpful, patient, and professional. Someone give that guy a raise. Make him a offer to keep that at the front door. He will keep customers returning, as well as the excellent service this place has to offer. The whole staff is great! Infinite wisdom and knowledge loaded throughout the whole place! Great job guys! The service was good and my oil change was complete in about an hour. My only complaints are that they left my old oil change sticker up and just put theirs under it and they reset my oil light but not my tire light but I explained that new tires were installed the day before so it did not need a rotation so they could have at least turned that light off too. It would have been the courteous thing to do.
Got a 4x4 alignment on my Jeep Wrangler after I lifted it and the axle was a bit off center. The team here took great care of my wrangler and got it fixed up in just an hour, thanks for the service!
I called on a Saturday morning and Great American Tire & Auto fit me in that day. They did a brake inspection and oil change which I had asked for. I called to add an alignment check and tire rotation. They finished everything and had the car done by 2 PM! The price was great, service friendly, and work honest.
The front counter man Angel was very knowledgeable and I appreciated his follow through letting me know when my tires would be in and calling.
I also appreciate finding such meaty tires for the affordable price.

I've been there multiple times and was completely satisfied with each visit. New tires and rear shocks on my Wrangler, new rear tires on my BMW. All done quickly and at a fair price. Everyone is friendly and helpful.
Had leaky tires from wheel corrosion. Kyle and Vincent were great and the work was done quick with no issues. Nice to know there's a high quality shop in the neighborhood!
If you are not knowledgeable with automobiles I would not recommend taking your vehicle here!! This is the type of shop to upsell you on things you do not need, I went in for a simple alignment was quoted $120, was told my car would not be safe to drive without replacing all my tie rod components. They said they would be unable to adjust the adjustment sleeves and that the bolts were too rusted to even budge. When I told the guy on the phone I had already adjusted them two days prior with hand tools he sounded caught off guard. There is a lot of shops like this that charge you for things you do not need, my quote ended up being over well over $500 with labor and parts after they looked at it, I work a lot of hours and it’s hard for me to find time to get into a shop they wasted my time and money, I took it to another shop Waukegan tires it was done in 1hr and 15 min and cost $110 they inspected all parts and confirmed that everything was ok and not replacement parts were necessary,!

Made appointment at counter for tire change, requesting same tire as already on car. They suggested a few options for similar tire with equal performance but cost savings. They did free alignment check and said it was good, no work needed. In and out efficiently. Will use again in future, can recommend
My encounter with Great American Tire & Auto Repair was fantastic! From the moment I arrived until my car was finished, everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming. They took care to review what they had done on my automobile. This facility is lovely, clean, and well maintained. I'll return there and encourage others to do the same because the service was excellent!

Honestly, a great place! But I have to say I was a little annoyed they wanted to charge me to plug my tire after I spent almost 2 grand with them to put four new tires on my I told my grandfather and was flabbergasted lol said I should never go there again, but I will. Then I had to hear a whole story about where he goes when you buy the tires there they plug them for free. 🤣
Repaired my tire in an hour with no appointment. Only complaint would be they didn’t set the tire pressure correctly. Easy fix but I don’t know why the tech doesn’t check the door sticker for the proper pressure. Would’ve been 5 stars otherwise.
after I realized working on my struts in 90 degree heat wasn't good, I took my car to Great American. They worked with me on keeping my car inside, over night due to the fact I have no top for it; my car was well taken of, handles great and was very clean, no complaints, I'll be bringing my other cars there.
I spent around $2,000 at this shop for a set of new tires and several tune-ups. While I hope the actual repairs were done correctly and my car will run longer because of it, the overall service experience left me pretty disappointed.
The day I picked up my car, the interior was left dirty — scuff marks on the dash, grime on the steering wheel and seats. I had to take about 10 minutes out of my day just to clean up after the mechanics, which shouldn’t be the customer’s responsibility after paying this much.
Then, the very next morning, I woke up to a flat tire. Turns out there was an issue with the bead not sealing properly — something that likely happened during installation. Thankfully, I was close enough to the shop to bring the car back without needing a tow, but if I hadn’t been, I would’ve been out even more money for something that wasn’t my fault to begin with. The shop resolved it, but never offered a real explanation or apology, which felt like another misstep in customer care.
Communication throughout the process was also confusing. I received several calls asking questions that made it clear there was a disconnect between the mechanics and the front desk.
Two out of the three times I visited the front lobby, I was greeted by someone in the middle of chowing down some fast food. Lobby over all was inviting, spacious, and clean.
At the end of the day, the mechanical work might be solid — only time will tell — but the lack of attention to detail, cleanliness, and customer service makes it hard for me to recommend this shop or feel confident returning. I brought in an older vehicle. Not sure this is the place to bring in my RAV4 or Lexus or anything you value. Just beware and shop around folks. Best of luck to this local auto shop in the future.
This is my neighborhood tire shop and as I had been a customer of Sears Auto shop since I started driving, I was very pleased to see another auto center back in the existing former Sears walls. My first visit I left very pleased with new tires, and alignment....they diagnosed something on my vehicle and were cool about me deciding to either have my mechanic husband fix it or come back at a later date to have the issue fixed. Filled my fluids. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I felt that the price was fair.
