With the way the corporate world is working buying up competition, I’m happy to be able to have a choice versus what city leadership dictates. Waste management has fair prices as well.

Earlier this week on Pickup day, I was outside when the truck came by. He noticed I had forgotten to take my trashcan out. He stopped and said, did you forget something? Then he waited for me to bring it out for him. He didn’t have to do that. In my opinion, that is stellar service.

They will absolutely rake you when you cancel service. Don’t use them if you’re a renter. $75 bin collection fee and $30 “environmental charge”. Insane.

I paid my bill in the early morning and was hoping to get my garbage picked up that day, so it would be on the list to be picked up on the route, but there is no local number or person to contact to pass along to the driver that my bill was paid and to keep the pickup available that day. So a local number with a local live person I could talk to and to relay that message to the driver would be extremely helpful. If someone could please reach out to me with a local phone number in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and the name of a person local that I can contact would be very much appreciated!! Thank you!

WM keeps us up-to-date on pick up times and days. Cost is reasonable and workers are professional and courteous.

We've used WM for a long time for weekly refuse pickup but are switching to a different provider due to lack of customer service, missed pickups and most recently, having to clean up the mess they made when they broke the trash bin during pickup. Good luck to anyone using their online resources to resolve issues. Be ready to give up a good 45 minutes of your day.

Appreciate the communications regarding holiday schedules and general delays. Truck drivers are friendly and do a good job with keeping the area clean when dumping bins. Calling WM and dealing with customer service is a nightmare! I swear each agent can perform only one task and then has to send you on to the next agent for the next task. I can tell WM silos their people and operates in a ‘stay in your own lane’ directive which is frustrating for customers and probably their agents as well as I’m sure once someone has been transferred seven times, the original agent who took the call then receives a poor review which wasn’t their fault at all. Pricing just keeps creeping up higher and higher.

WM is totally reliable. They do a great job consistently and if I need a special pick up, one call and it’s done.

Service is unreliable. I have auto pay on so I know every 25th of the month itll pay my bill for me. However they have missed payments and then charged me on a different day like the 6th of the next month, with a warning only the same day they charged me. They require you to make new container requests even when your can is very obviously damaged. I canceled my service with them and I cannot believe it but it cost me $105 which is an absurd amount. I will never be using waste management again even if my life depended on it. Id rather spend a little more each month to support a company who has respect for us and our land. Id go so far as to say this is an actual scam of a company who should have no customers working with them. Getting my cans when I first signed up was free with the service which was nice. But I didnt realize it was a big trap, because having my bins picked up costs 75 dollars plus the 30 dollars for them to pick up my garbage until the service officially ends and because I used a debit card and didnt go to the company themselves I guess and slap the 100 dollars on their front desk they charge me an extra "convenience fee" of a dollar and some change. How about you do me the convenience of shutting your bum company down and giving all your employees a nice severance pay.

Extremely disappointed with the service I have received from Waste Management especially since they are twice the price as the other competitors in the area. After finding out I had been forced into a contract when they bought out Advanced Disposal I was forced to continue service until my contract was up 11/01/2025. As the end of the contract got closer I had been contacted by Austin Pfannenstiel in an attempt to lower my rates so I would renew my contract, after telling him multiple times that there was no way that I would ever continue doing business with WM he finally accepted that I would be cancelling service. 09/19/2025 I mailed my written cancellation form requesting to stop service effective 11/01/2025 and to remove their receptacle from my property to the WM office and started service effective 11/01/2025 with a different garbage provider. 11/07/2025, The dumpster was still on my property, and I was sent a bill for service from 11/01/25-11/30/25. I then called the customer support line where after being on hold for 30 minutes while someone tried to figure out what was going on told me that they never got the cancellation form, BUT could see the notes where Austin Pfannenstiel noted "Probable termination 11/01/25" I was then told that because they "Never received" the termination letter they automatically renewed my contract and nobody could give me an answer why someone couldn't figure this out and get this cancelled because even in their notes it shows plans to cancel effective 11/01/25. I then asked to speak with someone higher up and was given a phone number to Francisco who didn't answer when I had first called but attempted to call back at 3:59pm on 11/13/2025 and stated in his message that he was leaving at that time. Since then I have called twice and left messages and still no response back. If this is what WM considers good customer service I will never understand how they keep a single customer.

I am extremely dissatisfied with my service, and getting very fed up they also changed it so now you can’t speak with someone directly on the phone. I am irritated to the point I am going to be switching trash services. It’s a little too common and frequent that my trash will not get picked up and I even reported it that it wasn’t picked up and they were supposed to pick it up yesterday and even my app had told me it got collected. Surprise surprise. It did not. Still full. This is the second time this month I have dealt with this not including other months. I will not continue to pay for a service that will not service me. That’s straight up robbery and that point.

Waste Management has been very good to us. They pick up on time and never leave garbage floating the neighborhood if it gets windy. Thank you WM.

I have always had excellent garbage/recycling service from WM. I have never had a missed pickup and I get an email any time there is a change in schedule.

I canceled WM immediately after receiving my first invoice. 6 charges all for environmental/fuel. Doubled what the bill was supposed to be. Definitely not honest or transparent with customers about how much their bill would be! Disappointing.

Everytime they come and get our garage they always leave a pile of garage on the floor… as well as the trash box laying down. and there isn’t anyone you can call and ask why they do that.

Dumpsters are fine. Customer service is the absolute worst, I have ever had to deal with. So not happy at all with these guys. Loyalty means nothing, can't talk to anyone, all I hear is we will call you right back with an answer after I was on hold for 40 minutes. That was after I had been on hold for 11 minutes then got cut off. Called back was on hold 15 min and got cut off again. Guess what never got my call back. I am calling around today for a new company.

Service is good. Not sure why they need two separate trucks to pick up trash and recycling. At least once a month, one can or the other doesn’t get picked up on pickup day, and they send a message saying they’ll come the next day.

Inconsistent service, dropped weekly recycling pickup to bi-weekly pickup without lowering our rate. When I notified them of missed garbage pickups, the management just made excuses. Have had nothing but frustration and disappointment.

WM has improved. I like how they always message you if the pick up is delayed. Their price is comparable to others. I do wish they would offer bulk item pick up and leaf pick up as they had done in the past but I believe the City of Eau Claire may share some responsibility for that being cancelled.

BUYERS BEWARE!! Do NOT go with this service. I WAS a customer, I had valet service. WM constantly miss pickup, where you have to constantly call. They increase the prices of there service without notification ($30 this month alone). when you call them you are constantly put on hold, and when you call to cancel because of their price gouging they attempt to charge $75 to cancel their bogus services. They also have multiple complaints with the Better Business Burea and The State Attorney General!! I would NOT recommend this service!

In the first 3 months of trying to do business with this clown show of a trash service my trash got picked up once. Thats right, i paid my bill for three months worth of weekly pickups and got picked up once. Of course, every time the driver skipped me he reported that my cans weren’t out. I have a camera pointing right at my cans as a WM truck goes whizzing by and didn’t even slow down. I have several videos proving the driver was falsifying his reports. They drive dangerously fast through our small quiet neighborhood, these are big heavy trucks, they aren’t agile and they don’t stop quickly, these drivers must have nerves of steel driving as fast as they do. I pray nobody ever gets hit by them. So after paying them for 24 pickups and only getting 1, I decided to cancel my service. Not surprisingly their AI phone system doesn’t have options for either cancelling service or talking to a person. The live chat they keep boasting about isn’t an option on their site or in the app. I decided to simply stop paying them and three months later lo and behold THEY CALLED ME! To tell me my bill hadn’t been paid LOL! But at the end of the automated call the robot said I could wait on hold for a customer service rep. Ah ha! So i did. I waited on hold for 47 minutes but finally someone came on the line and i was able to finally close my account. What an absolute disaster, my only thing is DO NOT USE WM!

WM acquired Advanced Disposal. We wish they hadn't, our service went from great to terrible. WM has repeatedly had terrible ever since the acquisiton. Now they skipping your containers and delay services if they don't like the way they look. They are not customer friendly as a company!!! We had our recycling that was within the weight limits, with the cover not completely closed and they wouldn't pick it up. This company has poor customer service. Don't use them.

Totally unacceptable as of late. I called twice last week, and now am trying to use their website. Our recycling was NOT picked up last week on Wednesday. Was told it would happen the next day. Nope. Then maybe Friday night. Nope. Then Monday. Nope. And to make it worse, when I call in, their message says it was picked up at about 9:30 last Wednesday. NOPE. It wasn't just ours. Was our next door neighbor's too. Our recycling has been sitting along the street since 5 pm last Tuesday night. Come on!! This is not the first time lately that our garbage or recycling was not picked up as scheduled. Get it together or we will definitely be looking at another service who will do the job right. 8/7: once again, late. Did not come today. Every other service in our neighborhood happened today. Seriously, unaccessible and unreliable. Updated review: the last 3-4 weeks have been really good. Both garbage and recycling have been picked up on the scheduled day. Thank you!

Well idk if it’s just this waste management of Eau clair or what but drivers are horrible at after emptying the cans keeping the can up right or they are farther away from where they originally were. I lived in Illinois. We had waste management since I forever, and we never had problems like this before we came in the Eau Claire and this new rule about keeping them apart in the drivers getting out of the vehicle and putting a thing on it when they’re not farther apart and that’s because the previous driver said it right next to the other can, so yeah Waste management sucks here in Wisconsin. I wish Eau Claire kick them out They-are a garbage company!

They raised the prices and justified it by saying the fuel expenses had increased. Diesel has dropped over 20% from its high but the prices haven't decreased to go with it. Now I got a notice saying that my recycling will only be picked up every other week, but there's no price reduction to reflect the cut in service. I'm actively shopping for a new provider now. At least the drivers are prompt, professional, and courteous. The people doing the work are great, the people doing the business planning are the problem.

This picture shows the amount of pride the driver has for his job. This is a weekly thing. Most weeks two cars wouldn't be able to make it through the roadway due to the cans being left out so far out. FYI these cans started out in a nice neat line

They've been 1 to going on 5 days (not picked up yet) late the past 5-6 weeks. Friendly people on the phone tell me it will be picked up tomorrow morning, tomorrow morning is getting to be longer and longer as they get further behind. They are currently two days behind, not open the next two days because tomorrow is Sunday and Monday is the 4th of July. Meanwhile I have trash stacked by the road. Tuesday morning I'm going to be calling for other options. I can't rely on WM anymore.
