Called on Friday and they were able to pick it up Monday at the time we agreed upon and the guys who I interacted with were nice and professional great experience.
Excellent communication, easy to work with. They stand behind their warranty with used parts. Not every sale can go perfect, occasionally when something does happen, it’s how well the company makes up for it. This time I got a bad engine but they made things right. Good company to work with and I will do business with them again.
Nothing wrong with the staff nor the owner at all. Everyone seemed really nice on the phone and easy to work with. My issue actually comes solely from the transmission I bought from them. By zero means is this their fault. Used parts are used parts after all and they don’t actually have any way of knowing if something is good or bad. I bought a 700r4 off these guys in March. It was from a 92 Chevy truck that they claimed had only 75k miles. Now of course I did not see the odometer myself so I couldn’t verify. This is fine. I got the trans home here in Iowa. Cleaned it up really well. It was caked in tons of oil and I thought that was odd for a 75k mile pickup. Cleaned it up, got every bit of grime and oil off. Spent probably 6 hours doing this cleaning and then painted it for my project car. Dropped the pan and found sludge in the pan and burnt fluid. I really should’ve known better as to what this meant but then again I’ve seen plenty of transmissions with awful fluid that drove fine.after all, this fluid might never have been changed before when it was in the pickup. Who knows right? So I put a new filter, cleaned it up and slapped a new pan on it and new cooler lines and all that jazz. Got this used trans with supposedly 75k miles in the car looking great. Hooked it up, got a new TV cable hooked up and installed. Once I got the tv cable adjusted just right (trans would shift into 2nd at 20mph as it should if adjusted right) I decided to enter my car in the Good Guys car show in Des Moines Iowa. This install took me a while and I finally had it finished at the end of June. The very first time this car hit the open highway it lasted maybe 50 miles before it lost 3rd and 4th gear. I was told the truck it came from was scrapped due to rust. At this point I have no 3rd or 4th gear in this transmission. I limped it an hour home at slow speeds in 2nd gear the whole way and didn’t make it to the show. Now the car will have to go to a local transmission shop and most likely get a rebuild that will cost me a couple grand at least. They had no way of knowing this would happen. Like i said, used parts are used parts. However I’m not fully sold that it was a 75k mile truck it came from. It’s very unfortunate. Just sucks because you spend $570 for the trans and spend months getting this install done and looking beautiful to only find out you have to dump another couple grand in a rebuild and can’t drive the car now. It’s not these guys fault, I’m just disappointed at the outcome with this transmission
i paid for 2 headlights and drove 140 miles to pick them up , and they where the wrong headlights for the vehicle , the guys there seems friendly , the owner tried to pay me for the gas $50 , i wasn't happy about this , but i understand mistakes happen sometimes , i would do business again with them.
I've sold 3 cars to ZB and each time they were prompt, polite, and professional. In each instance I quickly found myself with money in my pocket and a dead vehicle was no longer a problem of mine!
Absolutely AMAZING place if you want to junk your car. No B.S. at all. They are incredibly prompt, professional, kind, and overall great to work with. Don’t mess around with other junk yards - these guys are legit!

I inquired about purchasing an engine from Zachary (ZB Salvage and Recycling in Madison, WI) 9 days ago from a vehicle he has listed on FB Marketplace. Zachary didn't seem to really care about making the sale from the start, but I tried for 7 days to set something up to pick up the engine. Zachary stopped responding to messages (and did not even bother to look at them).
Not a good way to treat a potential customer, especially one who would've brought more business to his salvage yard (yes, car guys do most of their own work, have project vehicles and friends who do the same). Due to his lack of response, I ended up spending more money and purchased an engine from out of state. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.
Highly recommended! I have been searching and searching for a set of used tires in a hard to find size and he had them!

Great service. Zach got back to me right away, worked something out that worked for both our schedules. Was prompt and on-time for pick-up of car (salvaged/junked). Flatbed truck driver (Jeremy) was courteous and filled out/signed all the necessary paperwork without a fuss. Provided check on the spot. Will certainly do business with them again if I have the need.
Nice and friendly. Very fast service. Unfortunately when I had them come out and they inspected my car the guy told me someone stole my catalytic converter. That really got to me. But otherwise great service and would work with them again.
Zach was courteous and responsive. I had two long deceased cars to sell. Jeremy was the fellow who picked up each car in consecutive days. He was competent and careful. Not only did he pick up each car, but in moving a decaying large tire snow drag, I asked him if he could take it along and he said YES! He broke up that snow drag and took it with the second car - cheerfully. I really appreciate that help and would highly recommend this company to anyone wanting to sell an old car blighting their landscape. I feel so much better, looking out to see trees without defunct cars! Fair, kind and competent.

If you're looking to junk / total out your car, look no further. Zac is great to work with. Told him what I was looking to get and he countered with an more than acceptable offer. He cut me a check and was on his way. Additionally, I was unsure if the vehicle was truly totaled, but Zac took a couple minutes to explain what would have to be done to fix the damage. He didn't push me to sell to him, just gave me the facts to make my own decision. Do business here, you'll have no regrets.

Really can't say enough about this company. They picked a car up for me and towed it away even though I didn't have the keys! If that's not great enough, they even paid me an agreed apon amount(best offer I had) and were easily contacted, knowledgeable, accomadating, and driver was very polite. My transmission went out suddenly and I had no recourse or way to help myself. This salvage yard not only offered me the highest dollar amount out of all the scrapyards in Madison, they did it right off the bat. I called around and found nothing close to what they offered, and they let me keep my battery because I just bought it and asked him.
Long story short, this is where you want to go to if you have no possibility to repair your vehicle. They are nice, fast and responsive, generous, and very convenient. 10/10

I went through a different website to junk my car and that pickup was referred to ZB Salvage. The driver arrived right on schedule the next morning and was really professional and friendly. The whole process went smoothly and was quicker than I expected. It only took about ten minutes to get the car hooked up to the tow truck and the paperwork straight. I honestly wish I had done it sooner because it was such a good (and easy) experience. The only thing I would do differently would be to try to work directly with ZB Salvage instead of through the other website. Thanks guys!
