Good, honest people. I had a transmission problem and was bracing myself for it to be expensive. Instead of throwing parts at it and hurting my wallet, they made a simple adjustment that fixed the issue, and they didn't even charge me for it. They easily could have replaced some parts and made some money on my truck, and I wouldn't have known otherwise, but they went the ethical route. It's great to know these kinds of shops exist. Hopefully not, but if needed, I'll definitely trust them with my truck again.
The only place to go in my book for drive train issues. Mel and his crew knows there stuff. My thru shat cracked on my 13 speed I wanted to upgrade to a 18 speed.

Best place around for rear ends and transmissions. I don't know much mechanics but I do know when it comes to Mel's I've not heard a single negative comment.

I had a rebuild done on my front differential and something broke inside so I took it back and they rebuilt it again free of charge and the oil was free big thanks to those guys that worked on my truck 6 hours and I was back on the road great job
I cannot thank you enough. I came in today needing a set of airlines and a valve stem after running out of talent. Your crew took great care of me from loaning me tools to giving me a hand reseating a tire. Thank you so much for allowing me to work on the truck in your parking lot and for putting up with multiple requests for tools. I will recommend you to everyone I know that runs through the area.
This place was awesome!!! Transmission experts. But do a whole host of other Services. Mainly from the drive tires forward. I don't believe they do trailer work. Super easy to find. Got there 0300 in the am. I deliver in Cumberland nearly every other day. This place is 45 mins west right off the 68 literally a mile no more than 2. I work for a small outfit out of the NE.its awesome to hv these guys incase we need them Plenty room enough to bring your trailer drop it off to the side mkn sure to respect others and giving employees and long haulers like me the room to operate safely. I seen all kinds of equipment in there. So whatever u need I'm sure the got it covered. No I'm not an employee or owner of this legit establishment trying to give it a great review. Also chk this out best part of this place..... no lie were the people. Never been in a more courteous and friendly place of business. Ofc I wasn't in the shop or wasn't there where I left. They mightve be like" alright is he gone?" Whipped out the keg and the strippers and torn it up?? no but seriously ain't even gonna bother calling any else. Not sure if they do road calls. I should definitely call and ask that would be amazing!!! Alright ladies abd gents as always SHINY SIDE UP!! Drive safe
My oversize driver called you guys and had y'all send out a pickup to give me a jump and make sure I got to the service station. I'm the pilot car who broke down on the exit 29 ramp. Y'all didn't charge me either. Thank you, that was very much appreciated!
Great place , worth draggin my 93 cabover from Nashville just to save 4 to 5k!!!!! Will be bringin all my trucks to them for service on any transmission and rearend work. Thanks for keepin me on the road!!!!
Best place ever! Everyone was friendly and hospitable. They made me feel right at home. Also , the differential was broken on my truck, they had it fixed in no time. I highly recommend to anyone thinking about going there. And I never leave reviews.
Broke down about 5 miles away from Mel's and was able to limp my big rig into his shop the next morning. Mel and his entire crew was very friendly, helpful and honest. I have never been to a big truck shop with this level of outstanding service. They all went above and beyond the call of duty. Stayed late on a Saturday and did everything they could to get me diagnosed.
I would recommend this shop to anyone. People who care about what they do for a living and take pride in their work is becoming a rare commodity these days. Keep up the fantastic service guys.
I wasn't satisfied at all call to get an estimate on a transmission rebuild They said they had all the parts to rebuild it and then never called me back
the worst mechanics workshop that I visited my truck came running now does not run and the owner threw me out of the workshop and I am threatening to take him out of his workshop with a crane and that is just a line of air
Awesome quick service, very nice people, ended up being there over night they gave me a nice pickup truck to drive where ever I wanted and got discount at local hotel for using Mel's overall number one in service in my book.... these guys really know what they are doing and for the owner to have so many employees and be the first one to welcome you and then jump right in working on my truck personally and was not satisfied with anything other than protection I'm very happy and will return of I had to dead head or what ever to get there.
Mel and his crew are top notch....We use them at Hillbilly Truck Repair several times a month. They will treat you well and get you back on the road fast.

Passing though the area i started having tranny problems. Pulled into the lot and Mel the owner came out to greet me and went for a test drive to diagnose problem. Quickly and accurately diagnosed the problem and had me out within 5 hours. Very knowledgeable shop. The best service i have encountered to this date. Meld best interest was not to make money on a passer-by but was more inclined to save me time, money, and send me off with a big smile and confidence in the repair. Even called me next day to follow up and see if i had any problems. Absolutely the best service that really blew me away. Would recommend to everybody. Great shop, knowledgeable staff, quick turn around, and 5 star customer service. What more can you ask for? Thank you Mel!
