Was very rude and demanding was unwilling to work with me he thought he had the answers to everything would not recommend this dealership at all he wouldn’t let me speak at all kept saying wooo woo

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! We had a scheduled appointment to view and test drive a vehicle. Since a vehicle is a large purchase we brought our family mechanic along with us to make the best decision financially and for the safety of our children. The entire time we were looking over the vehicle we were being rushed saying “this one’s good, you don’t have to look over it.” As we were still looking over the car Pete backed the car up and rudely hollered “are you interested or not, I have customers waiting who actually want to buy a car today.” There were absolutely no customers in sight, Pete needs to work on his customer service skills to say the least. The sad part is if the test drive went well we were planning to purchase the car today, but we’ll keep our money for somewhere with some human decency.

bought a car and on the way home the check engine light comes on they wont do nothing to fix it or value my warranty, 3 weeks with the car and the alternator is bad and its undrivable

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALER! In July, we bought a 2013 wrangler from this dealer with a 3rd party loan. The SAME DAY I brought it home, it wouldn't start, AND WE FOUND multiple nails in the spare tire! I called them, they wanted me to risk driving it on the interstate to bring it back to them! Then they had it towed back up, where they then had it for an entire week without telling us anything they found, what they were doing to our vehicle. No communication at all! 2 weeks later, they finally "fixed it" and replaced a sensor, which we found out later they broke upon installing! They took it to a shop they use for inspections, and i also called, and the owner told me they hated dealing with them because all their cars are broke. Anyways, they brought it back to us with a passed inspection and a "new" spare tire on it. Well, the "new spare" had several nails in it, too! And then 2 days later. IT WOULD NOT START AGAIN! So pete advised us to take it to Fitzgerald so they can look into it and go from there. The bill ended up being 8k in parts! They add onto your purchase price a 3 month warranty to your vehicle that does absolutely NOTHING and got mad when we didn't lie to the warranty that the issues weren't pre-existing to owning! At this point, it has been 1 whole month of owning the vehicle, and I only had it in my driveway for an hour! Heres the fun part! He didn't want to pay for the repairs! Wanted to put a whole junk yard engine in for a fuel pump, fuel line, 2 rocker arms and two cam shafts, fuel pressure sensor, and 4 coil packs ! Oh, and back to the inspection that passed, we found out should NOT have passed because the turn signal switch and driver seat belt latch were also broken! We told him he ethier pay the repairs or we would be bringing it back for a refund and that he sold us a lemon vehicle! Even Fitzgerald was doing everything they could to get this man to pay the repairs! Pete even tried saying he was sending a tow truck to pick it up from Fitzgerald to take it back to they're shop where his own mechanic even said he had been telling him to just have Fitzgerald fix it. I told him I'll report the vehicle stolen if he did that. They also messed up our title, which was also paid in the purchase price! So we had to get that fixed! This has been the absolute worst experience in my entire life! Pete was nothing but rude, unprofessional during all of this. He will not let you talk, thinks he knows everything. At one point, he hung up on us! Wouldn't return phone calls. Just kept dragging his feet! He argued with my father, who's been a certified mechanic for well over 35 years ! We will never ever recommend this place or buy here ever again. You should do what we should have done and walk away from this place!

WALK AWAY DONT BUY!!! We had nothing but a headache from them worst sales man ever it's his time to retire bad but the vehicle kept braking down he only wanted to fix it with junkyard parts and then continue to give you a go around on getting it fixed they don't know what's wrong with the vehicle most the time always saying it's a "sensor" when it's not always a sensor they don't know what they are doing anymore I don't know how they are Evan still in business especially with the poor customer service like let your customers speak and not get rude with them pulling the ""I've been selling for 40+ years"" yeah we get it no need to say it over and over learn how to move with the times or RETIRE

BEWARE. If I could rate this so-called "dealership" zero stars, I would. My grandmother has been a long-time customer of Pete and Don. They sold her two cars, but they continue to break down. My grandma has been without a vehicle for more than four months because they are unable to determine what is wrong with the SUV they sold her. I've phoned several times to seek answers and been hung up on each time. I am currently in contact with a lawyer on the Lemon Law. I wanted to warn others to stay far away from awful "business".

Always had a good experience dealing with them. Fair prices and no shady business or expensive problems suddenly appearing. Staff is always easy to talk to and nice.

Very rude, very unprofessional, salesman cuts you off doesn't let you talk at all not to mention all the other things..Worst experience I have ever had with a dealer..Walk away like I did.

Rudest most unprofessional experience I’ve ever had and I wasn’t even the one trying to purchase. Definitely would not recommend sending anyone their way. How you speak to others reflects on the whole business

They wanted too much for a down payment so I did not purchase there. Ever since I have been bombarded with text messages and phone calls until I blocked their number. Afterwards I get a ton of junk mail from them. No reason to act like hungry leaches because you lose a sale. If they didn't want an extremely high down payment on a vehicle that was $3000 above the national average for that vehicle. They'd had made that sale.

After purchasing a vehicle from Herb‘s auto. In the first 30 days the four-wheel-drive needed a switch installed to work. I didn’t need the four-wheel-drive until just recently six months later. It now needs a new transfer case after the second time. Pete the owner after calling three with no return call. He told his secretary to tell me he couldn’t help me with it.

Absolutely love this place fast friendly service and great car selection total satisfaction will be buying more cars from here

My vacation in Berkeley Springs was just ending when my car's starter motor failed. I had the car towed to Herb's that afternoon and at 10 am the next business day the owner was at my hotel to give me a lift to the shop where my car was ready for pick-up with a new starter motor. Herb's far exceeded my expectations. Thumbs up and thank you.

Bad place if your looking go to Thurmount MD auto sales good people stand behind anything they sell brought a truck in October my warranty is up but my ac needs charged they are charging it for me if they can't fix it they will pay for another garage to fix it really good people tell Steve I sent you .look on Facebook Thurmount auto sales

I called and asked about a car and the guy refused to answer any of my questions. Was rude as hell. Really unfortunate because I planned to buy the car tomorrow and hand him $5,000 cash. There are reasons you call ahead of time before going to look at a used car. This being one of them. His loss. My gain.

Purchased a vehicle and within 9 days had over heating issue. Took back was told radiators cap was bad. Two to three days later same issue over heating took back up was told thermostat was issue and was told replaced. Let’s not forget that this vehicle has not gone anywhere but on small in town trips. Called the last time with the same issue with over heating and was told someone would be in contact with me shortly. Never happened the message was never given to the shop foreman. I called and told them that I had already made appointment at a dealership and to come to find out it has blown heads and waiting on tear down to see if anything else is damaged. I warn you if buying anything. Vehicle is nice and test drove nice but only a few days the vehicle went down. Believe when I saw don’t buy from here!

I purchased a 2000 Ford Ranger from Pete. I did not expect a perfect vehicle. However there was a problem with the 4x4 transfer case. Pete made good on it with out any hesitation. I will be giving him more of my business in the future.

Warranty.. Was none! Was charged $2,400 for "service contract" that of course covered nothing that is bad on car 8 days is all I had ownership of this car driver window bad electrical issues bad brakes and cadillatic converter

I recently found myself in need of a new vehicle, and my first stop was Herb’s. Pete and his crew were fantastic throughout the whole process. They were very patient with me while i test drove every single truck on the lot and Pete was friendly and knowledgeable about the vehicles in his inventory. After all the test driving and asking questions were through, Pete walked us through the loan application and got us approved for with excellent financing. Our purchase even came with a fantastic warranty and the Herb’s auto Customer Bill of Rights. Last but not least they provided a clean inspection, car fax report, and a clean, freshly serviced vehicle ready to go and looking brand new, and they took care of all the DMV business on our behalf so we didn’t need to wait around at the DMV. I would recommend anyone interested in a new vehicle shop at Herb’s.

VERY VERY BAD. DONT GO HERE. Very bad place to purchase anything. Sold use a vehicle and when we get about 20 miles away the engine light came on and the trans. started messing up. After telling them about it they don't wanna do nothing about it and tried to trade for another vehicle but they don't want it back because it has issues. THEY SOLD IT TO USE WITH PROBLEMS AND ACT LIKE NOTHINGS WRONG. NEVER DEAL WITH THEM THEY ARE SCAMMERS

Great dealer, Pete was knowledgeable and didn't try to up-sell a car we couldn't afford. He was kind and considerate. Would definitely buy here again!

4 stars only because of the price. Could have done better on my own. However Pete was extremely kind and helped me out of a jam. Stuck in the mountains without a running car. He picked me up, towed my old car back to my house fir free, then did everything he could to get me approved and back on the road in a good dependable car. Love my SUV and it was worth the extra $ to have a warranty and peace of mind. Thanks Pete Moss

Buyer BEWARE !!! DO NOT BUY THE "warranty" Doesn't cover anything and what it does cover is worthless... Bought a truck here and in less than 6 Months have had to replace the heater core, starter, AC compressor, both side upper and lower ball joints and just found the Parking brakes had absolutely no brake material left on the drums. And all this passed through their WV Inspection station. Can you say CROOKED ?
