Monday to Friday closet for the public! Posting at the entrance. Online said it's open! They should update their schedule.

Friday: checked the prerecorded line for hours at this Station, there was a cryptic message about sellhold?? customers only can dump. Not sure what that means, so I drove down with my toilet, and was turned away and sent to the Kirkland station. When I arrived there, I was told they were closed to the public for garbage too. They referred me to the Renton Station. Well that was enough hide and seek for me. Here is your customer service lesson: 1) Make sure your prerecorded messages are clear and make sense to the general public. 2) update your status to the public daily, this includes website, call lines and popular public portals (Google, Socials, ect). 3) if you do need to turn people away, make sure the place you send them will be open for the service they are seeking. Call the other Station direct for the customer, if the other station is incapacitated, it will save the customer a trip. 4) the Factoria staff mentioned I could come back the next day. Unfortunately, there is no way for me to confirm they are taking waste on a Saturday. No direct line, and no updates specific to my use. So I did not go. 5) be clear about which items are recycled or sent to the landfill. Messaging for porcelain items online was ambiguous. 6) if you fall short in your mission, it happens, take steps to be better. Each day is a new start.

THANK YOU FOR UPDATING! I have also updated my review. *****You guys need to update your website with your hours of operation for the public. I knew there was intermittent work going on, but when the website said "open" I went and found it not open to the public. Three other vehicles were behind me and had to be turned away and the staff, while nice enough, seemed frustrated with having to put up with people who were disappointed.

Open to public in weekends during the 12/2025 construction. This information was difficult to find, but is buried on the website. Not open to public during week (during construction)

I arrived to recycle cardboard, only to be told at the station was closed, despite being reportedly open on Mondays

Be aware, that until February 2026 all green "waste" is going into the garbage. So if you care about where that actually goes, find another place in the meantime.

Uh, gee. We had one fluorescent tube light to recycle, and the gate attendee told us to follow the blue line, which led to a big recycling place, but none of the containers listed fluorescent tubes. A guy in a truck pointed me to a building outside that was labelled "hazardous waste." I started to walk over there, but a facility person shouted that I had to drive over. I do not like being shouted at. So we did drive over and it looked to me like it was the yellow line we should have followed. I would have been happy to do that if the gate attendee had just told us right. He also could have mentioned to look for the "hazardous waste" building. I think they need to train their gate attendees a little better. And they could work on their signage a bit. First thing, just in case folks are misdirected, like we were, have a sign in recycling that explains if you have a fluorescent, to drive over to "hazardous waste." I mean, hey, here we are, doin'the right thing to correctly handle the mercury-containing fluorescent tube, and some guy shouts at me. I do not like that.

Giving a BIG shout out to the three guys manning the hazardous waste facility today (July 15 2025). While transporting used car oil to this facility, I inadvertently forgot to tighten a lid and the oil spilled all over my back seat carpeting. Telling the guys that I was having a bad day, they looked at my situation and generously gave me a handful of absorbent wipes to help clean up my oily mess. They were extremely thoughtful, understanding, and helpful. Thank you for helping me make my day just a little bit better!!! Great service!!!

I go here frequently as I am in the construction business. I find the access road hazardous as cars park in the mud along its shoulders and are often sticking out unto the road. Although there are bins to recycle cardboard, metal, clean wood, etc., there is no enforcement or instruction and see piles of recyclable materials in the general garbage areas every visit. I once saw a man in his SUV dump an entire load of moving boxes in the garbage. Nobody cares. The county employees don’t give out instructions because, as they have told me, they can’t enforce them - no citations or tickets or anything like that, so they don’t bother. It saddens me to see this nice facility run so poorly.

The place seems good, but people were rude and not much willing to help. I mentioned it was my first time there. It is sad as it should be a place to use more often but I will avoid in next visits for sure.

Easy-going facility, well marked all around the place, and staff are attentive to help you out anytime.

This place is really well run and everyone we've interacted with there is kind and helpful. The person at the guard shack gives clear directions to follow, and we were in and out in less than 10 min. Especially great that they have hazardous waste disposal here so we're not stuck holding onto old gas/oil and know it will be disposed of safely.

Customers beware ! This facility is not following RCW 46.61.655 correctly and charging people unsecured load fees. First time using this transfer station, went to the website and educated myself on what constitutes a unsecured load and seen the picture examples given. I took a truck load of scrap wood 2x6x5 feet filled just under the bed. the wood was jammed into the bed with no possible way of it shifting any direction. I was charged a unsecured load fee anyways and was told all loads must be tied down and hands me a pamphlet. Didn't argue but did more research after the fact and found this is not true and the pamphlet given does not match the language in the RCW. All loads do not need to be tied down or covered as long as its loaded in a manner that the material can't shift or fly out the vehicle. The Sections below explains what is required to be fastened down. The problem is the person running the scale makes that call and he was wrong and is not applying the law correctly. (1) No vehicle shall be driven or moved on any public highway unless such vehicle is so constructed or loaded as to prevent any of its load from dropping, sifting, leaking, or otherwise escaping therefrom, except that sand may be dropped for the purpose of securing traction. (2) No person may operate on any public highway any vehicle with any load unless the load and such covering as required thereon by subsection (3) of this section is securely fastened to prevent the covering or load from becoming loose, detached, or in any manner a hazard to other users of the highway. (3) Any vehicle operating on a paved public highway with a load of dirt, sand, or gravel susceptible to being dropped, spilled, leaked, or otherwise escaping therefrom shall be covered so as to prevent spillage. Covering of such loads is not required if six inches of freeboard is maintained within the bed.

It’d be nice if they had the correct hours posted on their Google listing. To have to click multiple sites to find out they’re closed really sucks when most businesses update their hours where most people search for business info. Now we’ve wasted gas driving here for nothing.

Showed up at 3:57pm, I made it only a few minutes before their 4:00pm Monday-Friday closing time. I was there to recycle a chest freezer that stopped working. I paid the flat $30.00 recycle fee and followed the painted blue line, on the ground, in front of me. I went down around the bend of the road and around the corner until I saw a bunch of other refrigerator sitting there to the left side as I entered a big cover building. The different areas were clearly marked and visible and so it made it easy to dump and go. The gentleman who helped me when I showed up was very polite explained what to do and was very nice. On driving out, the gate was closed so I drove on the scale and a different gentleman helped me, he confirmed what the sign on the gate said, just drive slightly over the white painted line and the gate will open. He was very sweet, and made me smile as I was a bit frazzled with traffic being so bad and worrying about not making it there before they closed and then trying to hurry so they didn’t have to stay late, I was the last of the day. This is my fourth trip to this transfer station since they opened, each visit has been quick and easy. Highly recommended.

Signs and website are inaccurate - this location DOES NOT recycle empty propane canisters. They tell you to take them home and throw them away in your trash. (Or maybe I was a special case?) The priority here isn't public safety, but operational financing.

This is my favorite Trash Dump Landfill. I've taken my wife here on a few dates (spring cleaning). Lanes are well marked. There's some nice flowers planted and a weird bicycle wheel sculpture wall that's probably a Pokemon Gym at this point. Also has a slightly gross/dusty stale aroma that is normal for a facility of this nature. Good hours and prices are fixed throughout the county and there's nothing you can do about it so by default that makes them "competitive". Anyway, highly recommend you generate enough trash to warrant a visit!

Great place to take your garbage, staff are friendly and helpful. Loved this sculpture made out of bicycle rims, so creative

Attendant was extremely rude and sarcastic 4/16/23. Never been to a transfer station. Rented a Home Depot truck and drove 2 miles from my house. Attendant asked, “are you going to tie that off with rope.” Assuming she meant for the 100 yds I had to go before dumping I said, “I wasn’t planning on it.” She then said, “well then we’ll charge you $25 extra.” Not knowing why I said, “that seems strange.” She responded, “oh does it!? It’s the state law!” Possibly the worst way she could have informed me. My items were also at zero risk of falling out during my trip. I had a heavy duty flatbed with sides and 4 heavy items at no risk of moving. I’m not mad about the $25 fine. I’m mad about how rude she was and she probably does that 20 times a day. Horrible interaction. The girl ruined my day with her attitude. I ended up being charged $67 to dump 375 lbs.

When I arrived at the dump I was upset because the male employee held me up at the entrance for a short time and I was in bit of a hurry. He was pushing around some small cart at the entrance and I couldn’t for the life of me figure out what the heck he was doing. I honked and shouted at him to get out of the way so I could get my ticket. Turns out he was collecting a bunch of screws on the drive up so customers wouldn’t get flat tires. Please accept my apology for yelling at you young man. I was impatient and unkind and you didn’t deserve that. And lastly, I stand corrected… Google is NOT the same thing as your website. Thank you for explaining the difference and for the info on chemicals. I hope the world treats you better than I did. - Jerome Davis

A great location to do a "dump run". I'm guessing they got rid of having customers throw things into.the trailers below for safety reasons.

Easy to do multiple drops to different areas - waste, recycle, haz waste. Just follow the colored lines as directed at the entrance. Generally friendly staff, especially at the entrance and exit booth. HHW guy was grumpy, but I didn't take it personally. you need to wear a mask right now, but you'd want to anyway cuz it can be a little stinky in the trash drop-off area.

They went back to receiving appliances for dumping (recycle) which is great! FYI: cover and secure your loads and not be charged $25 for unsafe loads - they enforce it in the facility STRICTLY.

I know some people say this place is just garbage, but it's more than that to me. It's convenient, the lovely staff is always friendly, and I always feel lighter when I leave this place. The new facility is fantastic, it's clean, and they keep all the garbage stacked to the right, much like Congress. Lots of parking, misters in the ceilings to keep the stench down, and they even take clean wood and recycle. What more could you want from a dump?
Aug 13, 2019 -
They have places to separate your trash from recyclables here which is great to see a way to help things get properly disposed of and reused if possible. The facility is actually fairly clean seeming and well maintained. The day I was there I did not notice a horrible stench but it was also a cool day outside so not sure what it's like on hot sunny summer days.

This is the closest transfer station to my house that excepts appliances. You can recycle washer's and dryers and water heaters among other things at no charge. I live in Renton but Renton does not recycle appliances.
