A beautiful store with an owner who had vast knowledge of every item he had in stock. Super friendly service. He even gave us a free gift just for visiting. Very reasonably priced antiques which is hard to come by nowadays. A must go if in town!
This antique store is quite the gem. I will be sad to see it sold but hopefully the new owner will continue the business. George, the owner is a really lovely gentleman. He’s extremely knowledgeable and eager to share his unique finds. The prices are also extremely reasonable, too many antique store these days are up charging like crazy! Not here! If you’re in the area definitely swing by while George is still the owner.
Super cool shop, much more unique/older inventory than many antique stores. George the owner is very friendly and happy to share his knowledge of history, local and otherwise. I snagged a signed Elton Bennett print.

I love Elkorn Trading Co.! I’m an interior designer and always find interesting things. The prices are fair, and the pieces are unique! Some good book finds, too. Highly recommend a stop in when you’re in Coupeville.
A gem of an antique store. The prices are fair. The real treasure there is the owner George. He knows so much about history & the history of Whidbey Island. He also owns another place on the island called Salmagundi Farms & there are lots more to see & buy. George also buys if you want to get rid of some stuff .
I moved to Whidbey Island last spring and was happy to learn of this antique store and its weekend barn store, Salmagundi Farms. Both are owned by a local man named George Lloyd, although the latter property is managed by another couple. I bought a large dresser from George this winter and recently saw a small table at Salmagundi Farms that I decided to give as a gift to my son; he closed escrow on his first house last week. A couple days after leaving the Farm, I decided to buy the table (I had just seen my son's home for the first time). I drove to Elkhorn Trading Co mid-week to make the purchase since Salmagundi Farms is only open weekends. When I pulled out my Visa, George informed me he could not take any money for items from Salmagundi Farms, I had to return on a weekend and pay them directly. He assured me the table was mine and told me he would place my name and phone # on it and mark it "sold". Imagine my surprise this morning, when I called Salmagundi was told it was on its way to a dealer's store in Wenatchee. I asked Julie to please take it out of the truck, as I was on my way to pick it up. No go. I had planned to pick it up last weekend, but Salmagundi Farms closed early on Sunday due to weather and today is the first day they are open again!
When I called George to express my disappointment and shock that it had been sold, even though he had assured me it was mine, he immediately started discussing contract law and the fact that I had no legal claim to the table?! Apparently, he assumed I was going to file a lawsuit over a $35.00 table? He then said he had told me I had to pick it up last Sat, a statement that he never made. I've always said a person is only as good as their word. And, George Lloyd does not stand by his word, instead he quotes contract law. This review is not about the table. It's about dealing with business owners who are forthright, honest, and ethical. Unfortunately, this is not the case with the owner Elkhorn Trading Company. Buyers beware.
