First time visiting after passing for many years. Cute and quaint country store.

Quante country store. Good food, Cute local made items. Friendly employees.

We had nice sandwiches for lunch and drinks, and a friendly atmosphere, we'll go back there again. Thank you ?

Stopped here at Nuttall General Merchandise for lunch. It was awesome. On a normal day I would have driven by, but we had a recommendation. The corned beef was delicious, bread and vegetables fresh. But there is more, this humble looking building, it has its own unique zip code 23178. So many same old, same old places with great exteriors and mediocre food. They succeed because we too often take the easy routes. Try something new, eat local.

People were very friendly food was very good. Fresh and not expensive.

Great meats, great wine selection, great lunch options!!!!! Best chicken pot pie ever!!!! Definitely worth the drive down the country road!!!!!! Some of the nicest people in Gloucester!!!!!!

I love this place the nostalgic energy of old fashion store with that Deli is a plus love the nikle and dime candy and the best thing I ever had is the keylime pie ice cream sandwiches My God !!! Go visit this place and travel back in time

Only place that I could find a country ham for Christmas. Inside was many wonderful things to eat and look at. Will definitely go back soon when I have more time.

I've been looking for a butcher over here for 15 years. The meat selection at the grocery stores over here is terrible. The bacon wrapped filet mignons that I picked up there were the best I've had in my life. This is great I don't have to drive across the bridge and go into Newport blues to get a steak for the grill. Will definitely be a return customer. Thanks for one of the best steaks I've ever put on my grill.

Stopped in just to experience an old country store from yrs past. Well worth it! Great selection of merchandise with a wonderful deli. Their steak sandwich was over the top! Warning: Your will need two hands and a big appetite. The cakes/pies looked amazing. Will be sure to stop again if anywhere close. Real gem!

The store itself is cute. The food was meh at best. We got a cheesecake with chocolate ganache. It was not even close to being worth the $16. The crust crumbled into dust, the cheesecake itself wasn't sweet.

An absolute gem! Don't sleep on this quaint little store. It has the best selection of things from deli meats to steaks to beer and wine to nostalgic candy. We actually came in after closing and the people were still nice enough to accommodate us! It's hard to find good people and service like this anymore. I will make it a point to stop at this place anytime I'm in the area!

One of my favorite places. Unique country store housed in an historic buildingwith an active, functioning USPS! Top-notch service! Exotic wines! Fabulous meats! Pretty much anything you might need! Klondike bars and even fancier ice cream sandwiches! Tastiest ginger beer (but watch out for the carton - too weak, too flimsy). Staff watches out for me! Makes sure cans are bagged properly for me. They've seen me drop too many cans, causing damaged leaking cans to spray all over the place!

We stopped in for some homemade baked goods. Delicious!! Love the old history as well. The friendly people make it such a nice place to visit.

Great little country store and deli. I ate lunch here with my family, and it was delicious and reasonably priced. They had an interesting assortment of snacks and sodas to get with the hot sandwiches. They also had a fun collection of local products, including their own jams and jellies. The building was amazing, and felt like it was from another time.

Reason for the one star. We eat at many places and explore alot. Nice little shop, great atmosphere. However, when We ordered a ham sandwich. Hardly any ham. Very disappointed, expected a fair amount. Had to go to another place to grab a bite after my ham sandwich.

Awesome local general store with an abundance of cool kit ranging from artisanal grits to local peanuts and everything in between! The food, able to be enjoyed in the shops very surrounds, was awesome too! Crab cakes for the win!!

We had to go out of our way to stop a second time while we were in town. Bought some treats the first night and decided to come back for lunch. Best decision ever. This was the best food we have had in Virginia. We got the daily special which was a steak sandwich, a Ruben sandwich, and a pulled pork. All were seasoned perfectly, light and the buns were so fresh. The meat was the perfect amount and so tender. now in the car 30 min later I would like to eat them all again. The staff is wonderful, so welcoming. And the store has so many local and neat finds. It was refreshing to not just have the same lame national brands. We got the nightingale ice cream sandwiches and every single flavor was great. The cookie/shortbread on the m is light and perfectly crumbly so it's easy to eat but not messy. Get the key lime!!! Don't skip the ice cream sandwiches. Such a gem. We are so glad we stopped

I used to go to Nuttall's when I was a kid and it looks a lot different now than it did then, in a good way. I'm a bit conflicted about leaving a rave review because I would like to keep the place a secret but, I guess I can't resist. The chef makes some of the most wonderful things you will eat, ever! The meat that can be purchased here is amazing. Some of the best steaks I have ever had the pleasure to grill. They even have a great craft beer selection now.

This little gem is off the road by 3 miles or so. The charm and warmth of this historical store will flood you with great times of the past. Whether it’s grandmas house or a family vacation from years ago...this store has it! Now let’s talk about the food! BUCKLE UP!! Win Goodier is the Chef! And man does he know what he is doing!! He is the butcher as well! Bringing in fantastic high quality meats from a local farm! He also brings in too products from New Orleans! Go visit this awesome little store in the heart of Ware Neck!!

Great spot to stop and chat with the friendly locals, enjoy all sorts of deli items, and find drinks from wine to coffee and everything in between. Their homemade pimento cheese is delicious!

A true gem!! A little off the beaten path, but well worth the 3 1/2 mile jaunt off the main road. If you don't here you'll miss out on a fresh butcher's shop, awesome handcrafted baked goods, and an awesome general store experience. Trust me, get there soon.

The most charming store around. Do away with the fast food. They have a wonderful deli for sandwiches! Large portions for a tiny price! We will forever choose this store over any other sandwich option. They have a large variety of local goodies & locally sourced meats, along with a post office & used book section. Handmade goods & soaps. There's so much to this store. They're constantly expanding their products to accommodate their customers as well.

Great old timey place and country store! When you step inside this historic building you are transported back in time to the way things used to be. Great place to grab a light lunch and also a fine entree to take home and cook later. Tons of products available for sale and many are hand-made, locally. Top it off with their many previous events such as wine tastings ect. Nuttalls is a place that should be at the top of everyone's list while visiting or just passing through while taking in the local wildlife, coastal scenery, and homely country community.

I'll add this up front: if using a credit card they will add on a "non-cash adj" fee without telling you. Mine was 50¢. Great stop. Love the history inside the store. Antiques on display. Beautiful hardwood floors. Friendly staff. Such a welcoming environment. Quick grocery needs, lunch, wine, jams and jellies, local peanuts, souvenirs, and a post office. Place to sit inside or on the front porch. Parking is beside, in front, and across the road. (There are 2 low steps to get inside, for anyone with mobility issues). Worth the stop.

I love this little country store. Everyone there is so kind and really makes you feel at home. I had a delicious BBQ sandwich and also purchased some local jam and soap. 10/10 will visit again.

First time here, a nicely preserved piece or history. Everyone was pleasant and helpful. The food, especially the Bologna Burger, was beyond belief. We will definitely be returning. Great experience all around.
