Honest people that do good work with fair pricing. I’ve taken my old car in and asked them to replace the worn out parts (I knew which parts were worn from a visiting mechanic friend) and they did exactly what was needed with a full breakdown of what should be done now vs what could be done later. How many mechanics can you trust that you say “do what needs to be done” on your car without them doing needless things?

The best shop you can find in the area. Prices are more than reasonable, professional service, always give honest feedback and advice. The only shop I trust and go to!

Called and made an appointment a week ago for an oil change. This morning as I’m dropping the car off they tell me that they don’t do regular oil changes?? They do an “oil service” for $150 which includes servicing brakes, rotating tires, etc. I didn’t ask for that and don’t need all that, but they would not offer to just change my oil. I wouldn’t be quite as annoyed if they had simply told me their strange policy when I called. Instead they let me wait a week until I showed up, probably hoping I’d pay $150 to avoid the inconvenience. No thanks. Whatever, I went to jiffy lube instead where I got a quick oil change for $50! Didn’t have to wait a week for an appointment either.

Great prices! Gave me a quote and stuck to it. Don’t oversell. Explained everything very well. Great communication.

I always come here for my maintenance and repair. They are super honest and helpful. They don’t try to get you to pay for extra nonsense and they have always given me a fair price and a quick turnaround.

I have used them for a number of years on a now 13 year old Mercedes with about 225K miles. I have always found them to be very honest in explaining what needs to be done and why and even recommending not doing certain things a dealer would tell you to do. Their work has always been very good, customer focused and fairly priced.

This business is reliable and excellent.. good communication and I can tell by asking questions that they explain everything in detail..it’s very hard to trust many businesses these days but I trust them.. they did what they were supposed to do and went beyond the norm… Im very satisfied with them and they deserve a good review..

I’m from out of town, suddenly flashing check engine light. Ralph senior understood my circumstances, checked the car within the hour and fixed it early enough for me to get back home to pick my kids from school… great guy. Great shop

Had my car sent here after reading reviews of how up front and honest these guys were. My only interaction with them was by email and phone as I was out of town and had my vehicle towed there. It wouldn't start and one shop wanted over double what I know it costs to change out a starter motor. These guys did it at a fair price and timely manner and even called to discuss different motors before starting. They did the work, car starts, and I'm a happy customer who can recommend these guys with full confidence they're not going to take you for a ride and BS their way around getting money out of you.

Fast and professional auto shop. They were able to evaluate my vehicle and provide sound advice within a reasonable time. I appreciated the open communication, frankness, and ability to pay online. The area is a little rough in that the strip of road leading to the shop seems like it needs regular cleaning since there was a lot of broken glass from bottles when I visited. There is no waiting area so you’ll need to walk out one way or the other, and some street cleaning would help with that. Overall, I’m satisfied with the service and advice I received.

After residing outside that area for some time, I returned to AutoTech recently for work on my Camry. I was glad to find that they are as good and as honest as I remembered them and will continue to use them for both of my cars.

These guys are very professional, courteous, and honest. I have a rare car and they have taken very good care of it and me over the years. Hope they stay in business for a very long time.

I forgot about this mechanic shop as I recall this whole area of Tysons corner was going to be redeveloped. That has all fallen wayside and they will continue to remain here for at least another 10 years. Remembering that they were still in business, I called them after I received an insanely expensive quoteto do some maintenance on an almost 10-year-old Subaru Impreza. I’m coming back in a few days to get my axle, radiator, bushings, and AC compressor all redone. I am happy knowing that excellent work will be done, and that it is fairly priced My whole point of getting the work done on this current car is so that I can use it at least for another year or two. With my next car, I will have this mechanic shop to the work!

Auto Tech of Tysons is a great shop. They were quick, friendly, obviously honest, and very reasonably priced. I saved $200 on replacing two belts, and was in and out in under an hour. Ralph at the front desk even took the time to look over some other body issues I had and gave some recommendations about what he would focus on fixing, as well as a referral to a local body shop. They're my new go-to auto mechanic!

Ralph and his team are courteous and efficient. If your car does not need work, they will tell you, the work that gets done is top notch and in a timely manner. My family has been getting our major car services done here for 30 years, zero regrets.

Great mechanics — friendly, honest and timely. They are convenient to Spring Hill metro and Fairfax Connector buses. They are exceptional mechanics. If Gottlieb Daimler were alive today, he would adopt the mechanics at Auto Tech Tyson’s as his favorite sons. Kevin W.

Been using this small shop for 15+ years. The best part is their honesty--they will never rip you off and will always offer the best way to service your vehicle. Jim the mechanic is an automotive genius. Resonable prices and quality service. Highly recommend.

My family has been a client of Ralph Ackerman,(Senior and Junior) and Jim Haines (Lead Mechanic) for easily 25+ years. With 4 kids and two parents, we have operated a "Motor Pool" of cars with Auto-Tech which has kept rolling and at the ready always. Part of me doesn't want you to know this shop is here. I want it to be my secret sauce. But they are terrific, honest, hard-working, no nonsense mechanics and patriots who deserve all our support as a small business. Bottom line: they fix what's broken only, they know their business, and they don't try to upsell additional repairs. One of a kind type of folks and reminiscent of a former era when men were men and we all grew up in Mayberry RFD with Andy Griffith. Recommend without qualification. Ignore this at your peril.

Excellent shop. I took our vehicle to them for a problem, and they diagnosed the problem and recommended calling the manufacturer's service department after finding several comments online about other drivers with the same issue. They could have just told us the problem and charged a bundle to repair it, but they were open and honest. I will continue taking my vehicles there for any issues.

Amazing customer service & experience! Very experienced mechanics and service advisor who tells you the truth.. Something that's so rare to find in mechanics these days. I'm so thankful that they are right down the road from my job. Fast service & honest mechanics. :)

We have been Auto Tech of Tysons customers for ten plus years. With four cars (domestic and foreign), they have earned our long term loyalty via high quality and timely work; coupled with reasonable (and transparent) prices, high standards, honest dealings and excellent communication.

My husband was in town for an interview and was trying to make it back home which is out of state. The problem was since it was so cold outside and a truck driver whose tire popped on highway when he was on his way home. Well the debris from the semu trucks tire popping it flew back at him and the debris went under his car and shattered his brake pad. They fixed the car within a few hours for a really great price. Now my husband is back on the road on his way home. My husband said that their customer service was great and that he couldn't have went anywhere else that would have been as good as they were to him. They even had puppy treats for our little furbaby. I am so thankful for their help and glad that my babies will be home very soon! Thank you so much Auto Tech for your help. We will definitely come back if we ever need any work done when we are in town! I would recommend anyone to come here!

My family has been coming here since before I could drive (I'm now 38). Always reliable, helpful and will give you honest feedback about what needs to be done and when. Never pushy they will even tell you "it can wait a few months". Very little if any mark-up on parts either and fair labor charges for their time and experience.

Ralph has kept our Honda CRV working since 1997. They performed regular, routine maintenance and after one clutch replacement, it's still running fine with over 250,000 miles! Auto Tech folks are honest, reasonably priced and so reliable. What a treasure!

I've had service done three times at Auto Tech. After years of going to service stations where I felt like I was being lied to and overcharged, I finally found Auto Tech. Great experience each time. They seem to recommend the most conservative service option first. Example (1) : My previous auto repair place told me, "You need a new head gasket to solve this leak--$1200." (on my 7 year old Subaru with 125K miles). Auto Tech: "Try this Subaru coolant conditioner--$5." Leak problem solved. Example (2). Leaking exhaust caused inspection failure. Auto Tech replaced the failed gasket for under $100. I didn't think it was possible to put a car on the lift for less than $100! I recommend this place unconditionally to everyone.
